Love's Redemption

Chapter 139

Chapter 139

He had come looking for me quite often, and this time he was at my doorstep. "What do you want now?"

"I agree," he said, which confused me.

What was he agreeing to?

"To date you and be your temporary boyfriend," Brandon clarified.

Thinking of his previous refusal, I was surprised. "Why did you change your mind?"

"If I didn't, you'd keep going on these messy blind dates and risk being followed like today." Brandon's tone was half exasperated and half stern.

I was amused to see his reluctant but resigned expression in the dark. "You'd be doing something against your will. Won't that make you unhappy?"

Brandon seemed to catch my teasing tone and took a step closer. Instinctively, I backed away, but there was a railing behind me which left me nowhere to go.

He extended his arm and pinned me between him and the railing. My breath quickened. "Brandon…"

"How could you be so foolish to go on blind dates?" His voice was in my ear.

It sent a shiver down my spine, and my heart skipped a beat.

He was scolding me, but his tone carried endless affection.

I didn't move or speak.

We fell into silence again, but this time it was different. I was so close to him that I could hear his heartbeat clearly.

After a while, he withdrew his arm. "You're not allowed to come home alone this late again."

"Okay," I replied obediently.

After a moment, I remembered something. "Thank you."

I was thanking him for saving me today, and for agreeing to be my boyfriend to help me deal with the Gildon family and Chris.

He didn't respond, so I pointed upstairs. "I'm going home."

But as soon as I took a step, he said, "That guy got this far. Who knows if he'll come back?"

Right, what if he did come back?

"I'm staying the night," Brandon said while extending his hand.

"What for?" I couldn't keep up with his pace.

Brandon said, "Your keys."

My eyes widened, "You want to stay at my place?"

"What else? Do you want me to sleep at your door?" Brandon's question left me speechless.

I couldn't argue. He added, "It's not like we haven't shared a room before."

That was true. We had slept together before, and it was safe.

I handed him the keys, and we went upstairs and opened the door.

Once inside, he said, "I'll sleep on the couch." NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.

I glanced at my old couch. It was ten years old and only a meter and a half long. How could someone as tall as Brandon fit on it?

There was another room in the house, but it belonged to my parents, and I couldn't let him stay there.

"You should sleep in my room. I'll take my parents' room," I said while putting down my bag and taking out a pair of my dad's old slippers.

They were ten years old, like the water pipes that burst recently.

Brandon didn't protest. He took the slippers, and I went to my room to get my pajamas and checked to make sure there was nothing inappropriate before leaving the room to him.

But as I was about to enter my parents' room, Brandon called out, "Wait a minute."
