Love’s Final Reveal novel (Lola and Dominic)

Chapter 71

Chapter 71

Chapter 71

This was the first time Scott showed dissatisfaction with Lola after she woke up.

Although Lola had lost her memory, she was still very sensitive to subtle facial expressions, thanks to the special training she had received from the Lewis family since childhood.

One of her acquired skills was to read the hearts of others through their micro–expressions.

Scott was clearly upset now, and the root cause was Dominick.

But he had been so gentle before, never getting angry no matter what Lola did. Yet today, he wouldn’t listen to explanations and have already shown his displeasure.

“Lola almost fell just now, and I just helped her. Watch your tone.” Dominick had just shown a hint of tenderness, but he was now filled with

coldness.

Scott’s attitude displeased him greatly. If Scott showed any slight disrespect to Lola, Dominick wouldn’t suppress his feelings anymore and

would take Lola away.

Lola was slightly stunned. She wondered was Dominick…defending her?

But they had only met once, and she wondered why he seemed to have such a good relationship with her.

Scott noticed Lola staring absentmindedly at Dominick, a trace of panic flashing in his mind.

The man who could make Lola so upset that she didn’t want to wake up to face reality was right in front of him. How could Scott not feel

anxious?

Yes, the more she hated, the more she loved, the more important he was to her.

Scott couldn’t imagine whether, in Lola’s heart, Dominick was more important than her own life.

>cott was afraid that they would have too much contact and was even more afraid that Lola would remember something.

“Sir, aren’t you meddling a bit too much? This is between the two of us. Layla and I are about to get engaged, and you’re welcome to join us

then.”

Scott asserted his dominance and, at the same time, made Dominick realize clearly that the current Lola was no longer the Lola she used to be but Layla.

Engaged?

Even Ethan was somewhat surprised. “When did this settle? What date is the engagement? Why didn’t you discuss such a big matter with me?”

When facing Ethan, Scott was much more polite. “It was arranged with your parents. We had an engagement since childhood, and now that Layla has almost recovered, I thought it was time to finalize our affair, which is also responsible for Layla.”

It sounded like there was no problem with the explanation, but it made Ethan uncomfortable.

Chapter 71

He felt it seemed like everything was for Lola’s good, but was this really what Lola wanted?

“Layla, come home with me. I’ve bought some desserts you liked when you were a child, and it’s time to start preparing for the engagement.”

Lola had just found out about the impending engagement herself and felt a bit dazed, unable to describe her current feelings.

When she was young, she thought marrying Scott would be the happiest thing in the world.

But she wondered why, now that she was really about to marry Scott, she did not feel as satisfied as she had imagined.

“Layla? What’s wrong with you?” Scott was a bit panicked.

He wasn’t sure if Lola would be upset because he hadn’t informed her in advance.

Rejecting him in front of Dominick would be very embarrassing.

Lola pressed her lips and slightly looked down as if hiding countless thoughts.

“Okay, let’s go home.”

Dominick had watched Lola leave more than once.

He was willing to endure the sadness of watching her leave. After all, he had left Lola countless times before, but today was different.

It seemed like Lola would never belong to him again.

“Scott doesn’t even consult our family before making decisions now?” Ethan could tell Dominick was in a bad mood now.

He was not one to offer constant reassurance, so he thought it was better to change the subject.

“He said he had discussed it with your parents.” Dominick sat somewhat despondently on the bench, inhaling the scent of gardenias.

Ethan grunted and sat down too, “Well, you don’t know my parents well enough. Considering how much they dote on Layla, how could they agree to marriage so quickly? Besides, my parents also know Scott hasn’t finalized his divorce.”

“So Scott was lying earlier?” Dominick’s face darkened. He wondered what Scott was really thinking.

He seemed to do everything for Lola’s sake, but some of his actions were just too strange!

“Yeah, at least that statement earlier was false. He was probably worried you’d snatch Layla back, so he did that.” Ethan speculated.

Dominick’s guarded expression softened slightly. Actually, if that were the case, apart from showing Scott cares about Lola, it didn’t seem to imply much else.

“But…did you hear what Scott said earlier? He actually mentioned preparing for an engagement. That makes it more than just talk.” Ethan’s expression soured.

“He can’t marry Layla as long as he’s not divorced from Jenna. Jenna is in Talondria now, right?” Ethan suddenly realized something.

Dominick was stunned. “Are you suggesting intentionally hide from him where Jenna is so he can’t get married?”

Ethan didn’t confirm nor deny Dominick’s suggestion. He cleared his throat and said, “Don’t jump to conclusions.”

Dominick chuckled and smiled teasingly, “Weren’t you always against us being together? Why are you suddenly trying to help me?”

Ethan wasn’t sure of his own feelings. He felt agitated, so he waved it off. “Forget it. I just suspect Scott might have ulterior motives. After all, I haven’t interacted with him much. People change, you know. The guy I knew as a kid might not be the same now.

“I mean, until I investigate whether Scott is a good guy or not, don’t reveal Jenna’s whereabouts.”

Ethan concluded, feeling awkward. He stood up to leave.

“I’ll go home first and check things out. Don’t overthink it.”

The guilty look on his face now made Dominick couldn’t help but chuckle and smile.

He knew Ethan must be feeling conflicted right now.

On one hand, he didn’t want to hand his sister over to someone who had hurt her before. On the other hand, he felt sorry for him.

“I think Layla and I should get engaged first.” Scott looked at Layla squeezing oranges in the kitchen.

“Engaged?”

Jasmine frowned, “Why do you suddenly want to get engaged? And you’re not even divorced yet. What does this even mean? It’s not fair to

Layla!” This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

“I don’t agree either. Layla just came home a few days ago. She’s weak. Why are you in such a hurry?” Mason rebuffed coldly.

Such responses were within Scott’s expectations.

He smiled lightly as he explained, “Layla has waited too long. I don’t want to make her wait any longer.”
