Love’s Final Reveal

Chapter 57

“Thanks,” said Dominick, his lips parting just enough to release the words.

He leaned against the refrigerator, his gaze brimming with helplessness, fatigue deeper than after three days and nights of non- stop work.

“I feel like she’s trying to make something happen with you. But doesn’t she have someone she likes?” Ethan pondered chin in

hand.

“I don’t know,” replied Dominick, his tone detached. His mind was overwhelmed with impatience, exhausted from the constant mind games with Jenna.

“Are you ready?” Lola called from outside.

The two men shared a look, their frowns silently conveying mutual understanding.

“Coming, Layla. Let’s eat,” Ethan said, sparing a sympathetic thought for Dominick as he brought out the prepared food.

“Ethan, you can cook? This looks amazing,” Lola exclaimed, her eyes still darting towards the kitchen. “Why hasn’t Dom come out?”

Ethan regarded her with a fleeting, complex expression. “Seems like you’ve been pretty attached to Dominick lately. Weren’t you always hanging around me before?

“You can’t keep chasing after him, or I’ll start to feel left out,” Ethan said, pretending to be upset.

“…” Lola was at a loss for words, a hint of impatience flickering in her eyes.

“Ethan, I and Dominick are going to end up together eventually. You are just standing in the way of my happiness.”

Ethan’s face clouded over with sadness. “I’m doing this for your sake, Lola. You’re my sister, and your happiness means everything to me. How could I let you go back to someone who’s hurt you before?”

“But all that is in the past now!” Lola raised her voice, her patience waning.

Ethan feigned surprise at Lola’s tone. “Layla, what’s gotten into you? This isn’t like you. You’ve always been so sweet and good.”

Hearing this, Lola bit back her frustration, forcing a tight smile. “No, Ethan, don’t be upset. I didn’t mean it that way. I’ll listen to you.”

Ethan smiled contentedly, “That’s good to hear. I knew our Layla are the best.”

What he didn’t see was the fire in Lola’s eyes as she turned away from him.

Dominick pushed his barely touched plate away. “I need to step out for a bit. I’ll be back later tonight,” he said, rising from the

table.

He didn’t want to face Jenna, and it had been a long time since he visited the Jaron Group.

“Where are you going? Let me come with you. I don’t have anything else to do at home anyway,” Lola said, getting up with

Dominick.

“Layla, Dominick has gone out for work. You can stay at home with me. You wouldn’t want to leave me here all alone, would you?”

Ethan spoke calmly, determined not to give Jenna any chance of success.

“Ethan, I…” Lola glanced at the departing Dominick, feeling a sense of urgency.

“Ethan, are you doing this on purpose? Youd

want me to be with Dom, so you’re using these tactics to keep us apart, aren’t

you?”

Ethan looked innocent. “Layla, why would you think that of your own brother? I’m just looking out for you.”

His defense seemed flawless, leaving her at a loss to challenge his motives.

But there was one thing she couldn’t delay any longer. She had to get clarity and resolve it as soon as possible!

“By the way, you mentioned Dom is out for business. Didn’t the Sinclair Group already go possibly have? Or do you mean he have other companies?”

what business could he

Lola’s eyes held a hint of probing, and Ethan immediately sensed that this question was not one to be answered lightly. “Of course

not.

“Dominick is out of work now. If he doesn’t go out and find a job, how’s he going to fend for himself?”

Ethan suddenly thought of something, and his arms crossed over his chest as he scoffed, “Speaking of which, it makes me even more against you dating him! He can’t provide you a better life right now. I won’t be at ease until he proves he’s capable of doing

so!”

Lola was taken aback, having hoped to dig up some information but not expecting Ethan to take the conversation in this direction.

“Ethan, enough with this!” she exclaimed, slamming her fork down and rising from her seat.

As she turned away, a spark of fierce flickered in her eyes, pondering a way to eliminate this obstacle.

Dominick didn’t return until late in the evening. When he arrived, he saw Lola sitting on the sofa, looking upset, with Ethan beside her, seemingly quite pleased with himself.

It seemed Ethan was close to breaking Jenna’s defenses. Dominick smirked, thinking that Ethan was surely something. “Dom, you’re finally back. I’ve been waiting here for you.” Lola saw Dominick and immediately went over to hug his arm.

“I’m tired. Let’s go to bed!” Her voice was laden with eagerness

But the next second, Ethan followed up. “Dominick’s been tied up all day and hasn’t had a bite. I’m starved too. Let me grab a bite with him first. Why don’t you go up and take a rest?”

Lola pressed her teeth against the inside of her cheek, her eyes flashing with annoyance. “Then I’ll join you guys. It’s more fun with

the three of us.”

Ethan, however, gently pulled Lola away from Dominick and pushed her towards the staircase. “That won’t do. You haven’t fully recovered yet, and you need to rest. Besides, didn’t you just say you were tired?”

Ethan’s words left Lola speechless, her eyes blazing with anger on the verge of erupting.

“Layla, why are y

you looking at me like that? You’re not upset with my call, are you? I’m just looking out for you,” said Ethan, his smile light but his gaze cold.

Lola stifled her brewing anger once more. “You are right, Ethan. I should go lie down for a bit.”

is anymore!”

As Lola left the room, Ethan’s smile immediately faded. “She’s not even trying to hide her true intentions

Dominick loosened his tie with one hand, his voice betraying his fatigue. “We can make our move tomorrow. Be careful when you leave. Don’t let her spot anything unusual.” Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Ethan nodded. “It’s going to be rough without me here.”

“She’s already impatient. The moment I leave, she won’t be able to wait anymore,” Ethan said, looking sympathetically at

Dominick.

“Just make it more convincing. We can’t afford to mess up after all this time,” Ethan said with a hint of teasing in his voice.

Dominick picked up a cushion and tossed it over. “Got it.”

Ethan caught it, toying with it in his hands. “I’ll be back as soon as I can. Don’t worry, I won’t leave you hanging for long.”

Dominick frowned, “The way you say that…sounds odd, doesn’t it?”

Ethan felt an unexpected pang of sympathy. “Look after yourself and Heather, okay? I’ll get to the bottom of this as fast as I can.”
