Leave Ben
Belle knocked on the door when she got upstairs to her cousin’s apartment. Brie hugged her immediately she opened the door.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
“Is it Belle?!!” Cherry asked from where she was, in the kitchen. She couldn’t see the door from there.
“Yeah, it is.” Brie let her know as she came back inside with her cousin sister.
“Oh my goodness,” Cherry sounded dramatic.”She is in a totally different outfit today again.” She sipped from the glass of juice in her hands which she had gone to get from the kitchen.
Belle ignored what she said and was heading to the room, she didn’t plan to tell either Brie or Cherry about the house Ben got for her. She knew they would have different opinions about it and wasn’t ready for any of that.
Cherry would surely be happy and congratulatory about it but Brie on the other hand would probably be unhappy that she did not heed to her(Brie’s) advice about not accepting things from Ben.
Belle knew that Brie was looking out for her as her family and she appreciated that but she believed Ben when he assured her that he didn’t think of her as just a whore he could buy with his money.
When she got to the room, she just laid down, she was tired. She took out her phone to give Ben a call, he asked her to do so the moment she got there; he had to leave after they ate lunch together, something came up.
“Belle,” Brie walked in, stopping her from making the call.
“Yeah?”
“Can we talk?*
“We are already talking….” Belle shrugged.
“You know what I mean.”
“Is it going to be about Ben?”
“Yes.”
“Urrgh, Brieeee.”
“I know, I know, you are completely over him, it’s expected, he is rich; he’s handsome but Belle, what you are doing with him, it’s meaningless, he is going to leave you when he feels like he doesn’t want you anymore and you are going to get hurt.”
“You sound like you have been in such a position before,” Belle said and paused immediately, realizing how she sounded just now, it sounded like she was boasting about Ben. “I didn’t mean it that way Brie.” She explained.
“I know you didn’t…. to tell you the truth; yes, I have being in that position before.”
“Hmnnn?” Belle asked because she didn’t believe her at first.
“Yes, I have. He is not verrrryy wealthy like Ben Larkson is but he is rich. You know the CEO of Sylve Inc?”
“The architectural company?” Belle knew Sylve Inc, she was sure they were part of the pages on the Crisp-tv media house’s magazine this week.
“Yeah. I once dated him, Carl Lumre; he was nice at first and then it all went sour. He was a serial cheater and a proud one at that, you know what he used to say to me? He would say; I am Carl Lumre and I can do whatever the fuck I want. This man swore he loved me….”
“Brie, hold on. Ben’s not Carl Lumre, and we are not dating, I know he doesn’t love me and I’m okay with that, at least he isn’t lying about his feelings, that’s one of the reasons I agreed to his proposal, he is straightforward with what he wants from me.”
“Do you hear yourself? I’m trying to let you know just how hard it is to be close to this men with powerful names, they are… I don’t know how to describe it but I just want to advise you, leave Ben.”
“Brie…..” Belle wanted to speak but her cousin cut her words short.
“I know, I can’t tell you what to do, it’s only an advice; leave Ben, you might not be able to handle all that comes with being around him. I’m sorry if it seems like I’m trying to tell you what to do, I just don’t want you to get hurt, emotionally and otherwise but the choice is yours.” Brie smiled after, she hoped her sister would take her advice.
“I can handle it, Ben’s okay.” She heard Belle defend Ben like she had known him since forever. With nothing else to say to her, Brie stood up from where she sat on the bed next to Belle, sighing at Belle’s decision yet again to continue with Ben.
About to leave the room, Brie smiled again to her, to assure her that she had only good in mind giving her those advices.
As soon as Brie left, Belle placed a call to Ben to call him like she wanted to earlier. The phone rang through but Ben didn’t pick. Belle didn’t worry about it.
‘He is probably busy.’ She told herself because he always received her call on the first ring.
