Chapter 78
Chapter 78
Kayla’s father Ray enters the visitor’s area and sees his daughter seated at one of the tables. He walks over to her and they embrace each other. Kayla was very close to tears but she held herself back whenever she thought of the fact that she’ll be out of this hellhole in no time.
–
Kayla, how are you holding up dear? Is it good for you? No one is bullying you right?” Ray asked. His eyes were red and he felt horrible to have his daughter in this condition.
Kayla sighed. She thought of the horrible food and how others are always mean to her just because her dad is the former
beta.
“Dad, I’m so glad to see you. I can’t believe I’m stuck in this place” she said. She will be out soon, and she will be getting her revenge on that stupid Alexia.
Ray smiled, knowing that his favorite daughter won’t have to be stuck here for much longer.
I know, sweetheart. But I have some good news for you. Your sister has agreed to forgive you and get Michael and Miles to lets you go. She already talked to them and I’m sure that you’ll be getting out of here in no time. Just in a few more days“” Ray said cheerfully
Kayla was surprised. She knows that Alexia will ultimately forgive her but she didn’t expect it to be so soon.
Really? That’s great news! But what do I have to do?” She asked. She didn’t believe that Alexia will let her off with no consequences at all.
Ray was serious now, he knows that he has hurt Alexia a lot just to get Kayla out, he was counting on the fact that she will always forgive them since they are family though.
“You have to apologize to her, Kayla. She needs to hear it from you that you’re sorry for what you did” Ray said. He won’t back down on this. Kayla needs to apologize.
Kayla was angry. She thought they were already over this the last time. She didn’t want to apologize at all! Why should she? She has always been ahead of Alexia her whole life. Why does she need to apologize now? For what exactly?
“What? Why do I have to apologize to her? She’s the one who started all of this!. She’s the one who told Micheal and Miles lies about me! She made them break up with me! She deserved everything that she got! She had it coming!” Kayla said.
Ray was firm. Deep down in his heart, he already had a good idea of what happened. Kayla was the one who caused it all.
“Kayla, you know that’s not true. You made a mistake and you have to own up to it. You need to apologize to your sister and make things right. Besides, we talked about this before. Apologizing is the only way that you can get out of here!” Ray said.
Kayla felt frustrated. She really didn’t want to lower her head in front of Alexia but she also wants to leave this place.
Fine, whatever. I’ll apologize to her. I just want to get out of here” she said. Kayla decided to compromise. Anyway, it’s not as if her apology will be sincere.
Ray nodded his head frantically.
“I understand. But remember, Kayla, this is a chance for you to learn from your mistakes and make things right. Don’t take it for granted. The two of you need to get along from now on. You need to
help each other Ray said. Now that Alexia has become the mate of Micheal and Miles, he wanted to repair the relationship he had with her. He believed that Alexia will Valways forgive him since he and Kayla’are her only family.
Kayla nodded her head, trying her best to look as sincere as possible. “I won’t, dad. I promise.” She said.
Π
The two of them talk for a few more minutes, catching up on family news and discussing Kayla’s plans for the future. As the visit comes to an end, Ray hugs his daughter one more time and tells her to stay strong.
Kayla watches as her father walks out of the visitor’s area, feeling grateful for his support but still angry about having to apologize to her sister. She knows that it’s the only way she’ll be able to leave jail, but she can’t help feeling resentful about it. At the same time, she also knows that she needs to take responsibility for her actions and make things right with her sister if she wants to get out of jail and have a good life. It’s a difficult lesson, but one that she’s determined to learn.
But anyway, she won’t be putting up this show for long. Alexia will soon be dead.
Immediately Ray finished meeting with Kayla, he rushed to the hospital to see Alexia. He wanted her to get his daughter out of jail as soon as possible. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
Somewhere, deep down in his heart, he knows that what he is doing to Alexia is unfair and that he should not be treating her like this but he could not help himself. He badly wants to see Kayla out of jail.
He was met with the shock of his life though when he entered the hospital and Alexia was no longer there. Instead, he saw a nurse clearing out the room.
“Excuse me, can you tell me where my daughter is? I came to visit her and I can’t seem to find her in her room” Ray said politely to the nurse.
I’m sorry sir, but your daughter has already been discharged. She’s not here anymore” the nurse said. She gave Ray a blank look. Ever since the patient who used this bed was here, she had never seen this man come visit.
“What do you mean she’s been discharged? Why didn’t anyone inform me about this? This is ridiculous!” ray said. He was fuming with anger. Alexia is his daughter after all. How dare they keep this from him?
The nurse frowned but she was trained not to be rude.
“I’m sorry sir, but we can only inform the authorized persons about the patient’s discharge. Maybe your daughter forgot to inform you?” She asked. She really doubted this too.
“That’s not possible. I talked to her yesterday and she didn’t mention anything about being discharged. This is unacceptable. I demand to know where she is right now Ray said. Of course this was a lie. He didn’t talk to his daughter at all. But he can’t let this nurse know otherwise.
“Sir, please calm down. It’s not my fault that your daughter didn’t inform you about her discharge. And I must say, you’ve never visited your daughter in the hospital before, have you? The nurse asked with a polite smile on her face.
*That’s none of your business!” Ray said while fuming.
“I’m sorry sir, I didn’t mean to offend you. I’m just saying that maybe if you had visited your daughter more often, you would have known about her discharge. The nurse said. She was trying hard to hold back her anger at this point, trying not to lose control.
