A powerful background
The Stones Residence.
In a mansion beautifully decorated and filled with powerful auras, three individual sat discussing.
"She's stubborn, stubborn than you, I think." A middle aged woman laughed. Age hadn't taken a toll on her, as she still maintained her youthfulness.
"Nope, I think she's stubborn like grandfather. Or is it grandmother?" Her husband smiled as he retorted.
They were Quinn's parents and grandfather; Sylvester, Nicole and Patriarch Raphael.
Raphael chuckled at their banter. He felt at ease with his family.
To the outside world, the Stones' family were all ruthless and powerful people. But he knew more than anyone how warm everyone were when they were together as family.
Years ago, his son had given him a grandchild. However, something happened...
Something that nearly gave the whole family a heart attack.
She was kidnapped... Right under their nose....
The Stones family?!
He made sure everywhere was searched; but she wasn't found.
His daughter-in-law,her mother was devastated... She almost committed suicide.
The whole family were in a state of gloominess at that time.
But...
Eight years ago, she was found.
It was a twist of events and a long story...
Quinn was a beautiful lady and the day she was acknowledged as his granddaughter, he was proud.
She was told to take over the whole conglomerate but she declined.
She opted instead for a Corporation out the many they owned.
She wanted to sharpen her experience first and gain some skills.
She was obstinate against their wishes.
She didn't even want to live with them; she decided to live alone instead.
The Stones had stubbornness flowing through their veins. They were also prideful. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.
As her grandfather, he wanted to know how she had been faring since she was young.
For some reason, he couldn't get a hold of records of when she was young... He was puzzled...
This further strengthened his suspicions that someone was behind her disappearance, when she was younger...
However...
He discovered that his own precious granddaughter worked as a maid.
A maid?! Who dared to?
A direct descendant of the Stones?
He turned his attention towards his son and daughter-in-law.
"Is she really coming? It's been a while since I saw her." He sipped on his cup of coffee.
"Of course she is father. By the way, where is mother?" Sylvester questioned although he already guessed the answer.
"In the kitchen. She got excited at the news of her granddaughter's arrival and decided to personally cook for her." Raphael shook his head helplessly.
His wife, Lily had been the most affected when Quinn disappeared.
She had always longed for a grandchild whom she could dote on and spoil with love. Since she didn't have a daughter, she always prayed for a granddaughter.
When Quinn was born, she was overly excited. At last, her prayers had been answered.
That was a story for another time...
A maid came into the living room where they were sitting and bowed respectfully.
"Miss Quinn has arrived." As she was talking, Quinn breezed into the room.
"Heyy... We thought you were no longer coming." Nicole stood up to hug her daughter.
"Don't you dare," An elderly but firm voice ordered.
Nicole groaned; not again...
"Mum, is it always necessary for her to hug you first?" Nicole was amused.
"None of your business. Child, come over and give your grandma a warm hug." Lily said with twinkling eyes.
Nicole raised her hands in fake surrender, and went back to her seat.
"Grandma, I missed you." Quinn hugged her grandma happily.
"No you didn't,you didn't even bother to call back home. If your father hadn't ask you to come, would you have?" Raphael complained.
"Hah. I'm sorry, grandpa. Forgive me everyone, I was busy." Quinn said respectfully and settled herself on a sofa beside her grandfather's.
"We're you guys angry at her before? Quinn, don't mind them, let's go to the dining table. I made your favorite." Lily half dragged her to the dining table.
Quinn smiled helplessly; her grandma just loved doting on her.
She had been heartbroken when Quinn had informed her if her decision to stay alone. She had begged her but Quinn's mind was made up.
The other family members smiled at each other and followed suit.
They wondered if Quinn had grown up in their mansion, maybe she would have been spoilt rotten now..
====================
At the dining table, Quinn consumed one dish after the other. She couldn't help it...
Her mother was such a good cook...
"Here... Eat more. You are so skinny..." Lily complained as she placed an unshelled shrimp on her plate.
"Grandma... Aren't you supposed to be feeding me instead? I'm also your son." Sylvester playfully complained.
"Your wife can do that; it's her responsibility to..." Lily didn't even look at him.
Raphael on his part looked at his granddaughter,
"How is your work going, Quinn? When do you plan to reveal your identity as a Stone?" Raphael asked.
Her real name was Michelle... But when she came back, she insisted everyone refer to her as Quinn.
Although they didn't want to, they had no choice. That was what she wanted.
They wanted to make up for all the years of suffering she had passed through.
She was born to live a life of luxury... She was after all a Stone; Michelle Stone.
Nicole smiled at her daughter,
"When do you plan on going on a shopping spree with me?" She asked hopefully.
That was what she had wished for; having a daughter, with whom she could go anywhere with.
"Any day you wish, Mother." Quinn chuckled.
"That reminds me, why didn't you come along with my great granddaughter?" Raphael asked inquisitively.
All eyes turned towards her...
Faced with their stares, Quinn couldn't hold back her laughter...
"I will bring her the next time, I promise."
Though unsatisfied, they nodded.
Raphael was contented, he had a granddaughter and a great granddaughter. Wasn't it great?
As for the father of Emelda, he was going to watch his granddaughter...
He was going to support her decisions...
And if anyone dared to her again... They were welcome to test the might of the Stones...
