Chapter 41
The elevator soon arrived on the first floor. Shelmaine and Julien exited the elevator together. If she hadn’t run into him, she would’ve already forgotten about the incident as well as his name.
Julien adjusted his glasses and said, “Sorry for reminding you of bad memories. If I had known that you forgot about me, I wouldn’t have called out to you.”
Julien was humorous, and his tone was very friendly.
“No, I just couldn’t remember all of a sudden.”
Shelmaine thought her pregnancy brain was kicking in. She had actually completely forgotten about Julien’s existence.
He asked, “Are you unwell, or are you here for a medical check–up?”
“A medical check–up”
“Alone?”
Shelmaine said casually, “My husband’s busy, and I’m here to collect my report.”Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
she hid the fact that she was a pregnant divorcee. As a woman living alone, Shelmaine was more wary than before. Furthermore, she wasn’t friends with Julien, so she didn’t see the need to clarify things with him.
Julien respected her privacy and didn’t probe further, but his gaze lingered on her necklace for a while.
He asked curiously. “The necklace that you’re wearing.”
“This one?” Shelmaine asked, touching the necklace.
“It’s pretty. It suits you.”
“Thank you.”
It was a new design that Shelmaine had just created. She hadn’t launched the product, and she was simply trying it on, but she forgot to take it off.
But Julien was very polite, and no adult woman would be offended by a compliment from a gentleman.
The short encounter in the hospital didn’t affect Shelmaine in any way, and she forgot about it after going home. After all, she was busy with the studio and her pregnancy. There were too many things to worry about
The studio had just taken in several orders for customized jewelry. Among them, there was a couple that wanted to customize their
cengagement rings
They had a generous budget, and it was a big order for the studio. Shelmaine’s assistant, Beatrix Raven, couldn’t handle the case, so Shelmaine met the couple personally. After a productive discussion, they finalized the collaboration. The couple paid the deposit and signed the contract, and Shelmaine was surprised to find that the girl’s last name was Gallagher, too.
A week later, the rings were ready to be collected. But to Shelmaine’s surprise, it was Julien who came to collect them. It turned out that Ms. Gallagher was Julien’s little sister. When Julien saw Shelmaine, he said, “What a coincidence. We meet again.”
Shelmaine agreed. She thought it w
was a coincidence for them to meet again this.
“It’s our third encounter.”
Since he was a guest, Shelmaine welcomed him with tea and snacks. She said, “It is quite a coincidence.”
“Are we fated to meet again after that collision?” palien said, smiling gently. He still looked gentlemanly as usual, donning a pair of gold–framed glasses. It felt as it he was always friendly to everyone he spoke to
“I think so,” shelmaine said.
“I didn’t know you were a designer, Ms. Clarke.”
“I’m not really a designer. I’m just trying to make a living”
“You’re too humble, Ms. Clarke.
Not only was Julien good–looking, but he also had a nice voice.
He was the epitome of a chick magnet, and he reminded Shelmaine of Samuel back in the day. At that thought, Shelmaine felt her heart ache a little. She still hadn’t completely forgotten about Sanvel
Over the three months in Aurich, Shelmaine learned a lot of things. She did not deny her past with Samuel. They had beautiful memories, after all. Their relationship didn’t end too poorly either.
After all, Shelmine was able to receive what she deserved, and Samuel was generous. Otherwise, Shelmaine wouldn’t have been able to set up a studio in Aurich so easily
But likewise, shelmane was not gratefull toward Sammel. Of course, Samuel wouldn’t be affected by Shekmaine’s thoughts. In the end, she was making he discut for herselt by wwerthinking things
