Chapter 38
Shelmaine couldn’t tell if Samuel was aware. Since he didn’t want her to give birth to the baby, she thought he must’ve known what had happened.
The Hastings were united against outsiders, and shelmaine was the outsider in this case.
“Samuel, after knowing you for all these years, I realized I knew nothing about you. But that is all in the past, and I know that your true love is someone else”
Shelmaine posed, then continued after adjusting her tone, “After getting divorced, I never hoped to remarry you again. But the baby belongs to me only, and it will only take on my last name. I hope you are clear on that
“Regardless if you were aware of what happened, I hope you will all stop looking for me. This is especially referring to your mother and Natasha.
“Natasha came to find trouble with my family, but my sister deserved it. I don’t care how the law will judge, and I won’t interfere.
“But if Natasha assumes that she can threaten me with my family, I’ll be honest–she’s thinking too much. She’s really overthinking it.
Shemaine blurted out a lot of things, leaving no chance for Samuel to speak. When she was done, Samuel said, “I hear you, Shelmaine. I got it. I’ll take care of it
Then, he didn’tsay anything else.
For some odd reason, Shelmaine felt frustrated.
*I hope you keep your word. This is the last time I am going to contact you. Don’t worry, even if you eventually marry Natasha, you don’t even have to invite me. Just pretend we never met!”
Shelmaine hung up on the call promptly and blocked Samurt’s number. She also blocked Eliana’s number and deleted the few pictures that she had with Samuel
Samuel wasn’t a fan of taking pictures, so they never had any wedding photographs. After deleting the pictures, it felt as if he had disappeared from Shelmaine’s life.
After doing all that, she was exhausted. It felt as if her soul had left her body.Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
Having no time to dwell on her negativity, Shelmaine picked up and thought about what Jennifer told her regarding the studio.
After giving it a good thought, Shelmaine made a decision.
In the afternoon, she received a phone call from the traffic police, telling her to head over to sign some documents. After leaving the police station, she received a call from an unknown number.
The caller had a distinct voice, and shelmane instantly knew it was the owner of the car that collided with hers last night.
“Hello, Ms. Clarke. I’m Julien Gallagher, the car owner from last night. Do you remember me?”
Shelmaine remembered him. She said, “Hello, can I help you?”
“Here’s the thing, I’m going on a business trip tomorrow and won’t be in town. You can text me over WhatsApp regarding the car repairs. I texted you, but you haven’t responded, so 1 called to notify you.”
Julien was polite and well–mannered. He explained everything in detail. Given his politeness, Shelmaine didn’t make outrageous demands.
Of course, she wasn’t that kind of person. She just needed her car to be repaired according to the regular protocol.
“I’m sorry, but I was busy, so I didn’t check WhatsApp I’ll look at it later,” she said.
“Since my driver rammed into your car, I should be apologizing You must’ve been stuprised, right?”
Julien sounded very gentle and easygoing
She said, “No, thank you for asking. Excuse me, but I have some things to take care of.”
“or it, I shall not take up more of your time, then.”
After hanging up, Shelmine sighed and checked Julien’s text
