Chapter 10
Shelmaine shook her head. She had no idea
“That Natashal” Isabelle fumed, her hands on her hips. “I heard something else about her, but I’m not sure if I should tell you.”
“What is it?”
“It’s about Natasha. Tans out she has an older brother who was Samoel’s childhood friend. Apparently, something happened to him last year. The person who told me was someone from their circle.”
shelmaine wasn’t familiar with Samuel’s circle, but Isabelle had some connections. When Isabelle first found out about Shelmaine’s marriage to Samuel, she was almost scared
into a heart attack
Back then, Isabelle had just started mingling with their group, and Samuel was the most mysterious of them all. Isabelle only knew about him because they occasionally mentioned this big shot
Shelmaine didn’t have a wedding or a reception, which Isabelle had found odd.
Sure, plenty of people skipped weddings these days, and elopements were common. But this was Samuel they were talking about.
It was hard to believe, and the fact that they’d ended up divorcing only made it stranger.
As they talked, Samuel’s call came through.
Speak of the devil.
Apparently, you really shouldn’t talk about people behind their backs.
Shelmaine exchanged a look with Isabelle before answering the call. “Hello?” she said.
Samuel’s deep voice came through, “Are you planning to sell the Hasting residence?”
Name your price. I’ll buy it
“Whatever it costs,” he added.
Shelmaine asked, “Can I ask, are you buying it for yourself or for someone else?”
Samuel didn’t hide the truth. “Natasha likes the area, and there aren’t any other suitable houses nearby.”
So, it was Natasha who wanted it. She really did go to Samuel and had him step in. Did she get everything she asked for?
After sharing a bed with Samuel for so many years, Shelmine realized that she didn’t know him at all
“Shelly,” Samuel called her nimame.
Once upon a time, during their most tender moments, he’d used to call her “Shelly too. It had been a long time since she’d heard him say it For a moment, Shelmaine was dazed. Then, she snapped out of it and said, “Anyone else, but not you two.”
Samuel didn’t reply.
Shelmaine continued, “We agreed during the divorce that the house is mine to handle as I see fit I can sell it to anyone I want. But not her.” “Why?This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Shelmaine scoffed internally.
He had the nerve to ask why?
Wasn’t it obvious? He had someone else in his heart but still married her. The divorce was also because of Natasha, and she had been kept in the dark the entire time.
If it weren’t for that one time he got drunk and called out Natasha’s name, she would never have known that there was someone else in his heart
Samuel spoke again, “She’s young and doesn’t know any better. Shelly, there’s no need to make things difficult for her.”
“What right do you have to say that to me? Who is she to me? Why should I be the one to be forgiving? Shelinalne snapped back.
Even during their divorce, Shelmaine hadn’t felt this angry and hurt. She had been completely clueless, and in the end, she was the most innocent party.
Samuel’s tone grew stern. “Don’t be unreasonable.”
“I’ll make this very clear. Just because she wants it, doesn’t mean I have to sell it. Even if she brings the king in himself, I won’t sell it. Not to you, and certainly not to save your ego.
“If you really want it, take me to court and try to get back the house I was awarded in the divorce. Then, you can give it to whoever you want. But for now, I’m not selling.” Shrimaine was so burious that her hands trembled, and her eyes turned red.
Then, she angrily hung up the phone.
Isabelle had overheard the entire conversation and quickly comforted her, saying, “Don’t get so worked up. It’s not worth it, especially now since you’re pregnaNË”
