Love or Die: CEO’ s Daily Dose of Swoon (Cordelia)

Chapter 232

Chapter 232

Waldron was visibly shocked, blurting out, "What now?"

The staff member explained, "We've got all the evidence we need. We're here to take her in for questioning, and after that, she'll be stripped of her eligibility to participate in the Math League. She'll also receive a formal warning."

Queenie's eyes went wide, and she stumbled back a step, catching the staff member's attention.

Daisy glanced from the staff member to Queenie, then pointed at her and declared, "That's Queenie!"

After Queenie was escorted away, the office fell into an eerie silence. Everyone turned to Everard, unable to believe what had just happened. Everyone except Frankie, who was in on the secret, was utterly baffled.

How did Everard know Queenie had messed up?

Daisy voiced everyone's confusion, "How did you know?"

Everard replied, "...I was just guessing. Can't believe it actually was true."

Everyone was lost for words.

Daisy had an epiphany, "I knew it! How could you possibly know what's going on with the Math League?"

Apart from Frankie, it seemed no one doubted Everard's words.

As they made their way back to the classroom from the office, Cordelia turned to Frankie, "Did you come here for me?"

Daisy and the others were puzzled, but Cordelia understood.

It was clear Frankie wasn't here to sort out anything related to Everard. After all, he had no clue when he walked in, the story about the special assignment teacher was just a smokescreen Frankie had used.

Sigh, Mathster was always so considerate.

Frankie glanced at Everard, replying, "No worries, just checking in."

In reality, after Cordelia had briefed him on Lucille's situation, he had planned to intervene. However, upon arriving at the Math League, he found out Lucille was already under investigation.

His visit today was to find out if Cordelia knew who had helped her.

But now, seeing Mr. Watkins... everything clicked into place. Was there even a need to ask?

However, it seemed Lia was unaware that Mr. Watkins was the same renowned figure from the Pioneers Group, Mr. All-Round?

Ah, the identities some legends hide behind!

Seeing Frankie's casual response, Cordelia just nodded.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

Beside Cordelia, Daisy was still in shock, "Wait, Mr. Watkins is really your boyfriend?"

Cordelia glanced at Everard and nodded.

Daisy clasped her hands over her heart, "Oh my god, I just looked it up, and Mr. Watkins was only 13 years old twelve years ago! He was competing in the IMO back then, a true genius! What were you doing at 13, Lia?"

What was she doing at thirteen?

Cordelia thought for a moment, "I was self-studying piano and calculus."

Daisy was speechless.

Before she could turn to Keen, he chimed in, "At thirteen, I was competing in the middle school Math League. Came first in the country." Daisy took a step back, feeling outclassed. She was talented, but hearing their stories made her realize there's always someone better.

Why did she torture herself by comparing? No wonder Lia only hangs out with prodigies!

As she pondered, Keen turned to Everard, "Since you're here as a special assignment teacher, I have a few questions I'd like to discuss with you." His tone carried a hint of challenge.

Everyone had assumed he was just Cordelia's non-academic boyfriend, but he was actually the legend from twelve years ago?

Perhaps it was his admiration for Cordelia that made Keen slightly resentful.

Many prodigies fade into obscurity, don't they?

Everard caught the challenge in his gaze. Initially reluctant to engage in a petty competition with a kid, a glance from Cordelia changed his mind. Everard, usually so composed and mature, found himself eagerly agreeing, "Sure."

He realized too late that he seemed too eager to impress in front of the youngsters.

Frankie chuckled, "Count me in!"

He was curious to see if Mr. Watkins's skills had dulled over the years.

Back then, Mr. Watkins was expected to contribute significantly to the math community, but then he vanished after his exams.

His family's details were classified, and no one could track him down.

Later―

When Frankie discovered his true identity, it all made sense. A mind like his was wasted on math alone.

He had broader responsibilities.

Still, Frankie felt a pang of regret and was eager to witness a discussion on math, even if it might be too basic for him.

Instead of heading back to the classroom, they settled in a gazebo in the park.

Daisy hurried back with paper and pens for everyone-Cordelia had insisted on joining in.

Keen then said out several

challenging math problems he'd

encountered, his knowledge from the Math League giving him an edge. Even Frankie found the problems to be non-trivial.

After presenting the problems, everyone's eyes were on Cordelia and Everard.

Cordelia began working through the problems after a brief moment of thought, her pen moving swiftly across the paper.

Everard, however, just leaned back, scanning the problems without writing anything down.

Daisy whispered in amazement, "Is Mr. Watkins slower than Lia at solving these?"

As Cordelia was halfway through, she glanced at Everard, surprised to see him still without a single mark on his paper.

Just then, they saw Everard make his move, casually jotting down a final number on the paper.

Cordelia was puzzled.

Glancing at his figures, she picked up pace, and within two minutes, she was staring at the answer she had calculated. It matched Everard's exactly. The whole group was in shock.

Frankie was particularly dumbfounded: "Even if I did the math in my head, I couldn't have done it this fast."

Keen kept a straight face, dropping the subject of seeking advice.

This was a total showdown, alright?!

Since Frankie was there, Cordelia

simply got him to sign a note forher, granting her free access to Autumn Gold Academic Bootcamp, especially since Little Flame was still nursing an injury.

After her classes in the afternoon, she and Everard went to the hospital.

Upon arriving, they were surprised to find Floyd there as well, with the room filled with tension.

Yates was leisurely sipping on a soup the nurse had made for him, while Floyd was glaring at him, visibly furious.

On the other side, Merry's eyes were wide open, displaying a clear interest in the unfolding drama.

Seeing Cordelia enter, Merry discreetly waved her over.

Cordelia approached and bent down

to listen as Merry whispered, "Lia Yates pulled some strings today and bought the EW Club outright. Now, Floyd is being forced into

retirement!"
