Love Of Wind And Clouds

Chapter 14

She had just opened the back door and was about to get in when he suddenly spoke.

“Please take the seat next to me.”

“What?”

“I’m afraid that if I drive too fast, I’ll make you motion sick. Sitting in the front seat is better.”

“Oh, okay.” She replied and obediently did as he said.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

As soon as Nancy sat down, Dylan suddenly leaned over and put his arm around her, causing both of their faces to be a very short distance apart. She was so surprised that she became motionless.

When he returned to his place, she breathed a sigh of relief. Turns out he was just helping her put on her seat belt.

“What would you like to eat? Where?”

“It’s up to you, you’re the main character.”

Dylan smiled slightly, drove the car towards the main road, and stopped in front of the gate of a luxury restaurant.

Nancy saw that and felt a bit sorry for her wallet. She secretly thought that this man knew how to choose. She consoled herself by thinking that her life was worth this much.

The light radiating from the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling makes the space even more luxurious. Dylan thoughtfully picked up food and peeled shrimp for Nancy.

She was a bit shy so she kept eating, not daring to look up at him. Only when she saw that the meal was almost over did she quietly speak up.

“I’m going to the bathroom for a moment.”

After finishing speaking, Nancy quickly stood up and walked quickly while keeping her head bowed.

She needed to adjust her face to normal because she was afraid that when she paid to leave, being seen by him would make her extremely embarrassed.

Looking at her face in the mirror, which was red, she silently scolded herself, no wonder she kept feeling hot.

Is it because she was single for so long that when she saw a man, she became like this?

But clearly, she had interacted with and sat down to eat with many men but never had this feeling.

When she regained her composure, she quickly returned to the table and saw Dylan waiting, his hands in his pockets, his feet tapping the floor, he seemed very happy.

“Let’s go.” Dylan tilted his head slightly, signaling.

“Let me pay first.” Nancy stood on tiptoe to look for the waiter.

“I’ve already paid.”

“Why did you pay? I’m the one who invited you.”

“Then let’s go eat sweet soup. You will pay for that portion.”

Dylan said and turned away quickly, smiling. Nancy’s stupid and bewildered expression made him feel like he was back in the past.

The two of them stopped at a sweet soup restaurant on the side of the road.

Snow is still falling heavily. She missed Nathan again. This is where he often takes her to eat every weekend.

Why did she feel that the man sitting opposite her was very familiar? Today, she intended to ask Rosalind about Nathan’s news, but before she could open her mouth, Wynn dragged her away.

The space fell into silence. Looking at the wedding ring on Dylan’s ring finger, Nancy used an excuse to start a conversation to avoid embarrassment.

“How many children do you have?”

“Why do you ask that?” Dylan raised his eyebrows in surprise.

“Because…” Nancy pointed at the ring.

“Still not.”

“Oh, you probably don’t want to have children yet, right?”

“I am still not married.”

Nancy’s face turned stupid. She bent down and quickly ate the bowl of sweet soup. At the same time, the phone ringing in Dylan’s pocket rang. He quickly picked up the phone and spoke politely.

“Mom.”

“You haven’t come back yet?”

“I’m going to eat with my colleagues. Mom and Aunt Jenny can eat first, don’t wait for me.”

Nancy glanced at the man who left his mother alone at home to go to dinner with her, and then had to pay for her, and suddenly felt sorry for that mother. She turned to the restaurant owner and called out.

“Uncle, please give me two servings of sweet red bean and lotus seed soup to take home.”

“You want to eat two more servings of sweet soup, huh? Eating too much is not good.” Dylan asked worriedly.

“No, I bought them for your mother and Aunt Jenny. Warm flavor suitable for cold winter days like this.” She shook her head, smiled, and replied.

Dylan looked at her without blinking. His Nancy is still as observant as ever. There was a bit of warmth creeping into his seemingly frozen heart.

Last night, after meeting her and returning, he slept soundly without needing alcohol. He hopes to quickly win her heart so that he will no longer have long, restless nights.

After paying, both of them went to the car. Nancy didn’t need Dylan to say anything else, she opened the car door herself and sat next to him so he could take her home.

“Goodbye, have a good night.” She turned to Dylan and spoke softly as soon as the car stopped in front of the gate.

“Good night.” He nodded slightly.

Hearing her say good night, watching her disappear behind the gate, Dylan felt his heart flutter, as if the young man from seven years ago had returned to the man who was over thirty years old.

He smiled happily, pressed the accelerator, and drove straight home.

When Camila and Jenny saw Dylan return, they were extremely happy. The two of them were still worried because they were afraid that he hadn’t driven for a long time and wouldn’t get used to it.

“What is this?” Camila took the bag from her son’s hand and was extremely surprised.

“Red bean sweet soup with lotus seeds. I heard that when it’s cold, you should eat this.” He answered.

Dylan had gone upstairs and was out of sight, but the two women were still standing blankly looking at each other.

The other day he left home happy but when he returned he was frowning. Today he bought sweet soup like this, so they don’t know if there will be any more trouble tomorrow.

Thinking about that, Camila was extremely worried but also very happy and touched, she felt like Nathan had returned.
