Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 72
Chapter 72
Chapter 72 My Future Husband Damien talked to Grandpa Lawrence for a while before heading
upstairs. Before he left, he walked past the table and accidentally knocked over Clarissa’s bac.
Her bag was already situated at the edge of the table, with one simple nudge, it fell to the ground and
the insides spilled out. He lowered his body to pick up the books on the ground. Out of curiosity, he
slipped to the last page and saw a memo. ‘May your hopes and dreams come true in life – Joseph
Moore.’
Damien’s face turned sour in a split second. On top of his words were the date and address of which
the book was signed. It was Saturday at The Owlery. He realized that one of the pages was
bookmarked, indicating that she had finished reading a hundred or so pages. It only took two days for
her to finish half of the book!
The second one was a notebook about financial and cost management, which was also given by
Josephi. He flipped through the pages, noticing that the notes were neally written with a lot of
explanations in them. The third one was a workbook purchased from the Owlery, with the sliop’s logo
imprinted on it. What exactly had Clarissa been up to these few days? With a sour expression, le
placed the books back inside the bag and headed upstairs.
It turned out Clarissa wasn’t joking when she said she was going to resign. How dare she abandon him
for another man!
A million possibilities rose to mind. After much thought, he finally arrived at a conclusion
“You’re here.” Noticing his arrival, Clarissa greeted him with a nonchalanttone Despite her attempt to
sound like she didn’t care, her expression still reflected her longing for Damien, like a teenager in love.
“You still haven’t answered my question yet. Who’s the one causing your heart to beat like crazy?”
Then, Damien leaned against the sofa and closed his eyes. “I’ve already told you! That person isn’t
you!” Clarissa replied coyly

“Whatever,” Damien continued. “It’s not like you’re my real wise. We’re just in a contract marriage, after
all.” Clarissa’s heart sank at his callous remark.
“I’m glad we’re on the same page! Where am I sleeping tonight?” Clarissa glanced at Damien, who was
resting on the reclining sola. Her heart skipped a beat at his mature charisma. “…I’ll be going back to This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
my dorm in a bit.”
“Since you’re already here, just spend the night in my room. Don’t tell me you’re going to spend the
night at another man’s place!” Damien left a snide remark despile maintaining a subtle tone.
Clarissa simply nodded in response.

Deep down, she was mentally prepared for what was about to happen next, and that she wouldn’t be
able to sleep peacefully tonight. As expected, he left bruises all over her body right after. Clarissa
lamented with a flirtatious tone, “This is all because of you.”
“It’s normal.” Damien, however, was cold and einotionless.
Clarissa thought about Damien’s words, when he mentioned that they were just in a contract marriage.
Even though they had made up, she was still very cautious of Madelynn’s influence on Damien. Feeling
annoyed, she left a sarcastic remark, “Look at the bruises all over me, my future husband.”
“What? Who’s your future husband?” Damien started laughing. His laugh was odd and eerie, which left
goosebumps all over Clarissa’s back. She found his sudden change in attitude odd. He was acting fine
just now, so how could he have changed all of a sudden? Though she was still bewildered, Clarissa
tried to convince herself that she was probably overthinking it.
“Whatever, goodnight.” Then, she turned to sleep.
The next day, Clarissa noticed that Mrs. Faber had tidied up her bag. She froze and hurriedly asked,
“Mrs. Faber, did you touch anything inside my bag?”
“Your bag almost fell to the ground yesterday, Mrs. Lawrence. I’ve only put it back where it was on the
table.”
Only then did Clarissa feel reassured. Unbeknownst to her, everything she said and did fell into
Damien’s eyes.
After she got into the car, she hugged her bag tightly. When they were at a red light, Damien glanced at
her and said sarcastically, “What’s in your bag? Why are you so protective over it?”
“I have gold in it!” Clarissa said casually. Hearing that, Damien tried his best to suppress the urge of
smashing the books.
