Chapter 522 I Come for My Wife
“Mr. Cassel, Savanna loves you very much. I hope that you won’t lie to her.”
Janet pleaded and threatened Brandon at the same time.
In her opinion, Savanna was infatuated with Brandon and trusted him unconditionally.
Savanna, who loved Brandon without reservation, would be badly hurt if Brandon ceased to be
faithful.
Hearing this, Brandon, who was driving, frowned. “What did you mean? What did Savanna say to you?”
“Don’t worry. She didn’t say anything bad about you. Instead, she told me that she believed you
unconditionally.”
Brandon was smart enough to realize that his cooperation with Finn upset Savanna. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
He asked, “Savanna doesn’t want me to work with the Orwell Group, does she?”
“No. She will unconditionally support you no matter what you do,” Janet said with both worry and indignance. “Therefore, I hope that you can live up to her expectations. No matter what happens, please do not let her down.”
Brandon finally believed that Janet was standing up for her friend.
In the past few years, Brandon had been bad to Savanna, so his love for Savanna now was dubious to
others.
“Ms. Shone, don’t worry. I swear that I will be good to Savanna wholeheartedly. I promise you that
what I am doing is for her sake,” Brandon promised.
Janet, who was old but hadn’t gotten married yet, was far more realistic than her peers.
“Mr. Cassel, convince me with evidence because words are but wind.” Janet did not believe in verbal
promises.
Brandon smiled faintly. Fortunately, he did love Savanna, so there was evidence.
“After we got remarried, I proposed and signed an agreement with Savanna. Savanna will have all
our family property once divorce happens again, regardless of the proposer.”
When a man didn’t love his woman, he valued money more than her.
Brandon must love Savanna very much and be anxious to maintain his marriage since he had signed such an agreement, which was disadvantageous to him.
This practical promise did prove something.
Janet felt relieved. “Mr. Cassel, I am glad that she has a husband like you. I wish you and Savanna a happy marriage.”
“Ms. Shone, I am also glad that Savanna has a friend like you who cares about her.”
Brandon became polite.
“Savanna is worthy of my admiration. I did something bad to her, but she forgave me.”
Compared to Savanna, Janet felt that she was a villain.
Brandon knew his wife. Savanna was indeed magnanimous, and her motto was to be easy on people.
“By the way, Mr. Cassel, I hope that this conversation will be a secret between us. I am afraid that Savanna doesn’t like my interference with her marriage,” Janet said.
“Don’t worry. I will tell her nothing about this conversation. However, I will remember your reminder.”
Brandon hung up the phone after Janet did.
The break lasted half an hour.
The bell finally rang.
Smiling, Savanna came from the other end of the corridor with an empty plate.
After three knocks on the door, Janet heard the response from inside, bent over, and walked into
the office.
“Did Tye go back to class?” Janet asked.
Janet sat in front of her desk as calmly as if nothing had happened.
It seemed as if she had not received a call from Brandon or told him to be good to Savanna. Janet pretended that she had worked there for half an hour.
Savanna put the empty plate on the table with a smile. “I gave the food to the children in the class and played with them. They are so sweet, and I think you should take credit for them.”
“Of course.” Janet smiled proudly.
Those students came with their problems, and Janet spent a lot of time and energy making them bright and cheerful.
“Janet, you are amazing.” Savanna gave Janet a thumbs up.
Janet felt embarrassed. She raised her head and replied, “Savanna, I think you are amazing too.”
This praise confused Savanna. “Why do you think so?”
Janet thought, you have loved a man for a long time. You won his heart at last and made him love you wholeheartedly.
Isn’t this achievement amazing?
“You take good care of our children, are good at housekeeping, and make me love you. Aren’t you amazing?”
Brandon’s voice came from outside the office.
Savanna subconsciously turned to look though she suspected she had misheard.
Soon, Brandon in a tailored suit appeared at the door of the office.
“Brandon, why are you here?”
“The meeting was over, and I missed you. Therefore, I am here.” Smiling, Brandon walked over, reached out his arm, and pulled his wife into his arms.
Because Janet was there, Brandon restrained his impulse to kiss Savanna. Brandon embraced Brandon tightly.
In Brandon’s arms, Savanna said in a low voice, “How did you know that I was here? Did Janet tell
you?”
Brandon said shamelessly, “Don’t you know the telepathy between husband and wife? I can feel
you.”
Savanna was amused. “Stop talking nonsense. This is Janet’s office. Don’t forget yourself. Let go.
Since Savanna said so, Brandon had to let go of her.
After taking two steps away, Savanna noticed the suit Brandon was wearing.
“When did you buy this suit? I don’t remember this.”
Only then did Brandon realize the problem. After the meeting, Brandon left in a hurry and forgot to change the suit Finn had prepared.
“It belongs to Finn.”
Brandon always mixed half the truths in his lies.
Savanna was distracted. “Why are you wearing Mr. Orwell’s suit?”
“Your husband was a bit unlucky today. When I arrived at the company, an intern splashed coffee on me. The meeting would start soon, so I borrowed this suit.”
This explanation was perfect.
Savanna looked at Brandon with concern. “Was the coffee hot? Did you get scalded? If you are hurt, some ointment will help.”
Brandon didn’t expect that his lie would upset Savanna.
Brandon regretted his lie and answered immediately, “The coffee was cold.”
Savanna let out a sigh of relief. “Good to know that you didn’t get scalded.”
Brandon said audaciously, “However, I feel cold. The coffee was splashed on the left side of my chest. That part is so cold that I need your burning love for treatment.”
Janet couldn’t hear this nonsense anymore. “Mr. Cassel, restrain yourself a bit, please. This is a school, and your speech will create a bad influence here!”
