Chapter 265
Storming back to her bedroom, Millie slammed the door with a loud thud.
The very next morning, barely out of bed and her work attire half on, Sadie heard Millie shouting from upstairs, "Somebody-quick-take me to the hospital-"
Sadie rolled her eyes. The first time it happened, she was genuinely panicked and all over the place, but this time... Well, let's just say she was more acquainted with the drill. She whipped out her phone and dialed the driver, "Hey, Abe, her highness is having another
'crisis.""
Abe replied, "Alright, I'm on my way."
Then, Sadie called Beverley, "Mrs. Sherwood, it's like this..."
She had the entire procedure down pat, managing everything with ease.
At the hospital-
Beverley stood in the corridor outside the ward, her face set in a grim expression.
The doctor's advice was the same as before, "It's nothing serious, just make sure she rests."
Beverley couldn't take it anymore. She burst into the ward, berating her, "You make a mountain out of a molehill and run to the hospital for every little thing. What do you think this place is?"
"Is your head just for decoration?"
"I've never seen anyone as dramatic as you. You can't even handle something as simple as being pregnant without making a fuss. What use are you?!"
She reminisced about the days when Roseanne was around. Not only did she take excellent care of Murray, but she also never caused any trouble. Whatever the issue, she would deal with it herself; if it was beyond her, she wouldn't kick up a fuss but would calmly seek a solution.
Looking at the current occupant of the bed, Beverley thought she was more bothersome than a cricket and more annoying than a cockroach!
A tiny issue would cause chaos at home, as if she expected the whole world to revolve around her.
Who has the time for that? Did she think she was the center of the universe?
Pah- What nonsense!
Millie let Beverley's words go in one ear and out the other, not letting them affect her at all.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
After being discharged that afternoon, she was back at it the next morning, claiming her stomach hurt and she needed the hospital. Initially, Beverley would take calls from Sadie to stay informed, but after numerous times, she straight-up instructed Sadie-
"Just handle it, no need to report back every time. That will be all."
Sadie was speechless.
"This family would be the end of me!" She thought.
From then, Beverley finally found peace.
If she wanted to be dramatic, let her be. Beverley decided she wouldn't bother anymore.
...
On the third day of May, it was Leda Reynolds' birthday.
The gift Roseanne had prepared, a "Galaxy Forever" series diamond necklace designed by the renowned Cherry, arrived just in time. Leda had been longing for this piece for ages. The series' soul was its pristine blue diamonds, symbolizing "hope" much like the iconic necklace from the blockbuster "The Princess Diaries," where it served as a love token between the leads.
As the movie's popularity soared, the necklace became a sold-out sensation.
It was impossible to find one domestically. The piece Roseanne managed to send had required some effort, acquired through contacts in Belgium.
Leda couldn't wait to have it put on,
exclaiming, "Oh my gosh! It's so beautiful! No wonder everyone's after it. I checked the store several times, and they always said was out of stock."
She wore an off-shoulder mermaid dress that day, its light blue perfectly complementing the "Galaxy Forever" necklace. Stunning!

At a leisure club-
On a spacious terrace, through floor-to-ceiling windows, with soft music playing and exquisite pastries on the table, Beverley was enjoying afternoon tea with a few close friends.
Ever since Sadie stopped reporting on Millie's antics, Beverley felt as if the world had brightened considerably.
Occasionally, she couldn't help but wonder if insisting on preserving the child in Millie's womb was the right or wrong decision.
