Love Beyond Control

The nurse sat quietly beside Ella and fed her with so much concern. And just when she was rounding up, Ella started throwing up. She handled her with so much care and concern which made Liza so angry and she took her phone and sent a message to the doctor and he came right away.

“Master Elion, Liza is surprisingly recovering very fast so I think they will be discharged this evening and I suggest Liza should stay at your villa for some months for proper care since her parents are out of the country.” The doctor explained calmly and Elion nodded in satisfaction.

“Doctor, what do you mean by Liza is recovering well so they will be discharged this evening? Liza is the one that is recovering well and not me. Doctor I’m having a lot of pains in my abdomen and since this morning, this should be like the fifth time you are coming here but you haven’t checked up on me.”

Ella complained with tears flowing down her cheeks.

“You are the only one that knows why you aren’t recovering yet. Maybe karma is catching up with you.” Maya complained victoriously but the doctor completely ignored Ella and Elion said nothing about it.

That evening, they were finally discharged and Elion supported Liza with so much care while Ella, who could barely walk, could only lean on the wall constantly for support. Henry followed Elion silently but kept turning and glancing at Ella who was really struggling to walk. When they got to the car, Henry opened the door and Elion helped Liza to get in while he closed the door and went round the car to enter through the other door. When he got in, Henry closed the door and went into the driver’s seat and as soon as he sat down and closed the door, he pressed a button and the boot opened. Ella looked at Liza leaning towards Elion and the manner at which Elion held her as if he was scared that she could hurt her hair. Tears ran down her cheeks as she was struggling to get into the boot but didn’t succeed due to the pains on her abdomen. The nurse that had fed her in the morning saw her struggling to get into the boot and ran to help her. She carefully helped her into the boot and wiped Ella’s tears before smiling back at her. She stood there and as soon as the boot closed, tears ran down her cheeks and she kept her eyes fixed on the car till it was completely out of her view.

When they got home, Maya and Mrs. Madison were already waiting for them in the living room. When the car alighted, everyone got out of the car and Henry forgot that Ella was still at the boot. She tried calling out but no one could hear her from outside. That night, Elion let Liza share his bed with him and as soon as Elion came to bed, Liza suddenly rolled towards him and forced herself into his arms.

“Why were you not sleeping? Are you in pain?”

Asked Elion with so much concern.

Like a child, Liza held Elion tight before responding to his questions.

“Elion, no matter how hard I try, I can’t sleep without you beside me.”

“I’m here now so you should sleep.”

Liza was disappointed but tried to cover up her disappointment by trying to make Elion recall their childhood days.

“Elion, you remember the first day we slept on the same bed?”

“Liza, all that happened was because we were just being childish back then. We are all mature now and we shouldn’t be thinking of what we did in our childhood days.” Elion said impatiently.

“But Elion, how can we just sweep the memories of us having sex under the carpet?” Asked Liza.

“Liza, I need to sleep now.”

The next morning, they were on the dining table for breakfast and Henry could not help but assign one of the chefs to take breakfast to Ella. Looking at one of the female chefs, he said.

“Get some breakfast to the lady that sleeps in the corridor behind.”

Liza frowned at the mention of Ella and tried stopping Henry but Elion ignored her completely.

“Henry, are you in love with that cleaner? Can’t you wait till we finish eating so we see what is left?”

“Miss Liza, she’s not feeling fine just like you so at least for the meantime, be nice to her. After all, she’s your saviour.” Henry responded mockingly. Just then, the chef returned with the breakfast.

“Sir Henry, she’s not there. I’ve tried looking for her around the villa but I haven’t seen her and the security men at the gate haven’t seen her leave.” Explained the chef. Elion felt a dagger stabbing through his heart and he felt a pain he had never felt before but he tried to hide it and asked calmly.

“What do you mean?”

Asked Elion as he went out followed by Henry, Liza, The Butler and the chefs.

“Henry, I’m really surprised that you people are all acting up just because of that cleaner.”

Said Liza.

“Miss, someone we got home with last night is missing and you say we are acting up?”

Henry responded angrily.

“Yes, the someone we got home with and you left her in the boot…” Liza was still talking when her words were cut short

What?

Elion and Henry asked at the same time and for the first time, Elion couldn’t hide his concern towards Ella and asked Liza with an indifferent voice.

“So you knew all along that she was left in the boot yet you said nothing”

“And why do you care so much about Elion?

Liza asked with so much jealousy but was completely ignored by Elion whose eyes were fixed on the car as he watched Henry rush to the car to open the boot. When the boot was opened, Ella breathed fresh air for the first time as tears ran down her cheeks. Her eyes were swollen as she had cried the whole night. She looked at Henry and even though she had no energy left, she still greeted him leaving everyone shocked. She struggled to get out of the car but couldn’t and Henry was about to carry her out of the car when his boss’s cold voice came ringing into his ears.

“Get a lady to carry her. She’s not your wife.”

Elion said coldly with an indifferent voice and Henry beckoned on two chefs to help out and they stepped forward and carried Ella out of the car. When they kept her down, she couldn’t really stand on her feet so she held onto one of the chefs and greeted Elion politely.

“Good morning Master Elion.

Without waiting for his response, she pleaded with the chef to support her as she walked.

“Please ma’am help support me so I can get to the back corridor.”

The chef held her tightly and The Butler was very angry to see Liza being hurt and so, she spoke sarcastically.

“Ella, why are you acting as though you are the only one that went through the surgery? Wasn’t Liza operated as well?”

Ella didn’t say anything but continued going and it was then that Elion Copper saw the dress she was putting on and recognized it immediately because it was the same dress Ella had worn on her wedding day. He looked at the dress as memories of Ella’s wedding day flashed through his mind…

As soon as Ella stepped at the door, everyone turned and stared at her. Some sympathised with her, some were those who came to mock and laugh at her, especially Maya and her crew. Others were just indifferent.

After giving a meaning to all their gazes, Ella bent her head and looked at her feet as she walked up to where the groom was but after taking about fifteen steps, Ella’s eyes widened in shock when she lifted her eyes and saw her supposed husband. She turned to run out but another voice in her scolded her and asked her to go back while the other voice kept persuading her to run out. While she was still thinking of which voice to obey, she heard people whispering behind her back.

Isn’t she a young mistress from the Anthonies? Said Girl B

How can that be? Everyone knows that the only young mistress from the Madisons is Maya. Said Girl A

Girl C laughed out silently but mockingly before saying sarcastically. “Just look at what she is putting on. And to think that her terrible outdated gown also cuts across her knees is driving me crazy.

As they continued to whisper, the disfigured crippled man on the wheelchair remained indifferent. He looked so terrifying as almost one part of his right jaw had been burned off. His best man stared at Ella back and bent a little and whispered something into Elion Copper’s left ear.
