Beneath the Rising Shadows

Chapter 1927

As soon as Gwain’s arrogant words left his lips, a figure immediately stepped

forward, bellowing, “I am Linden, the Cutter Blade! Let’s see how strong this

so–called number one from the outside world truly is!”

Without another word, Linden brandished a massive pair of shears and

charged headlong toward Gwain. Everything in the wake of those shears was

cleaved in two, leaving a trail of destruction in his path.

The sheer force of Linden’s attack made even Wyatt inwardly gasp, realizing

that Linden’s internal strength was likely on par with his own.

Ashton, too, couldn’t help but click her tongue in astonishment. What sort of

treacherous tair had they wandered into, where every individual seemed not

only immensely powerful but bizarrely strange?

Linden himself looked as peculiar as his name sounded. His twisted and distorted features instantly marked him as a grotesque figure, reminding one of Gary. There was an unsettling quality about him that would have made

most people shudder in fear, especially given his terrifying strength.

Yet, Gwain stood tall, showing not even the slightest hint of fear. His gaze

suddenly turned as sharp as a blade, and with a single swift kick, he sent

Linden’s giant shears flying through the air. In the same heartbeat, Gwain

struck with his palm, sending Linden crashing violently to the ground.

Thud!

Linden lay sprawled, motionless, blood spurting from his mouth.

The crowd was paralyzed with shock, their scalps tingling with disbelief. No

one could have predicted that someone as strong as Linden would be felled

Many among the gathered onlookers could see that if Gwain hadn’t shown

restraint, that palm strike could have easily ended Linden’s life.

Even Wyatt drew a sharp breath, feeling a surge of resignation–he knew he could never hope to catch up to Gwain. This man was growing stronger with

each passing day.

“Thank you for the match,” Gwain said proudly, cupping his hands toward the

crowd. His expression was haughty as he declared, “Let me make myself

clear once more. I’ve come here to meet with the head of the Summerton

family and to reclaim what rightfully belongs to the Lannister family. I have no

desire to fight, but if you continue to stand in our way, we’ll be forced to

retaliate.*

The crowd fell into an uneasy silence, with no one daring to speak.

The night began to creep in.

This wasn’t the city; there were no lights to push back the encroaching

darkness. Soon, the entire area would be engulfed in pitch–black night.

After a long pause, Gary finally broke the silence with a booming laugh.

“Gwain, you’ve said all the right words, haven’t you? You come here to take

what you want, and now you’re making it sound like any resistance is just

asking for death? Do you think we won’t kill you?”

Beneath the Rising Shadows

Gary’s power was nothing to scoff at. As soon as he finished speaking, he

stomped his foot into the ground, creating a massive crater beneath him.

Ashton clicked her tongue again, eyes wide with envy. How she wished she

could one day wield that kind of internal strength.

Despite the overwhelming power that left the others in awe, Gwain remained

unfazed. He even sneered, the corner of his mouth curling in disdain. “It’s not

that you won’t kill me,” he said coolly, “It’s that you simply can’t.”

“D*mn him!”

Suddenly, the odd assortment of fighters scattered around the mountainside

erupted in outrage.

“That Lannister kid is too full of himself!”

“D*mn it! Even an uncle could endure this, but an aunt wouldn’t!”

“Catch him! Cut off his tongue, chop off his hands and feet, and let’s see how

arrogant he’ll be then!”

Beneath the Rising Shadows

Suddenly, a grotesque figure holding a short blode shot up from the ground

The ambush was perfectly timed, shrouded by the darkness of the night,

making it nearly impossible to detect.

Even Wyatt broke into a cold sweat at the sight of the sneck cock

leoped But Gwain, as if sensing the danger with eyes on the back of his feet, leaped

into the air just in time.

The grotesque figure attempted to stab him but found himself unable to

keep up.

Gwain flipped gracefully in midair, his height and long legs giving him a

distinct advantage. With perfect precision, he kicked the figure’s arm.

Crack!

The sound of the grotesque attacker’s arm snapping was unmistakable, his

body was sent crashing into the ground with such force that it left a deep

crater in its wake.

Beneath the Rising Shadows

“D*mn, that was incredible!”

Even Julian couldn’t help but express his awe.

Ashton and Roselynn, the two women, watched in wide–eyed fascination, not

even daring to blink. Gwain wasn’t just powerful; his movements were

elegant and poised, like a deadly dance.

But before Gwain could land, warriors from all directions swarmed toward

him like ants drawn to an elephant.

Hank and Wyatt, who had initially planned to stay out of the fight, had no

choice but to leap into action when they were dragged into the assault.

Together, they joined forces with Gwain, battling against the hundreds of

skilled fighters that surrounded them.

The chaotic melee continued to rage, the night growing darker with each

passing moment.

In the dense forest behind the mountaintop, four figures stood out, their

brightly colored garments oddly conspicuous in the gloom. And yet, no one

seemed to notice their presence.

“Aora, it looks like the three great experts from the Lannister family are getting

swarmed. Shouldn’t we help them?” Azure asked.

Aora’s lips curled into a sly smirk. “Why should we?” he replied coldly. “Let

Gwain retrieve the Dragon Tome first. Then, we’ll swoop in and take it from

him. Isn’t that much easier?”
