Moreover, it was clear that there had to be powerful insiders within
Yeringham to pull off such a daring operation. Even the most formidable
leaders from Zovince wouldn’t have been able to execute this without
substantial internal support.
“Move quickly!” Felicity’s voice sliced through the chaos with urgent precision.
As the matriarch of the Quillen family, safeguarding Alessandra was her top priority. The thought of facing Emmanuel if anything went wrong was
unbearable.
“No, I can’t leave!” Alessandra’s voice was a fierce counterpoint to the chaos.
She shoved Felicity’s hand away with a determined push. “Mrs. Lowe, go with the bodyguards now. I have to find Tia and Old Mr. Quillen. I won’t leave until I
know they’re safe!”
“You…” Felicity’s eyes flashed with frustration. What could an elderly woman
accomplish in such mayhem?
Chapter 1884 Inferno of Betrayal
Ignoring the encroaching blaze, Alessandra rushed toward the hall with a
fierce and nearly reckless resolve. The walls were kissed by flames, and thick,
suffocating smoke billowed through the corridors.
“Madam, we must go now!” The bodyguard seized Felicity’s arm, dragging her
towards the side exit.
“Tia! Old Mr. Quillen, where are you?” Alessandra’s voice cut through the
choking haze, a beacon of unwavering resolve in the oppressive smoke.
“Mom!” Through the raging inferno, Tia’s voice emerged, quivering with a mix
of fear and relief as she made her way through the blazing ruins.
Strolling through the Quillen residence, Tia enjoyed the rare tranquility she had found after leaving the villa. Her peace was abruptly shattered when she
saw Old Mr. Quillen and Alfred’s car pulling up. Just as she began to move toward them, the front gate exploded with a thunderous roar, sending debris flying. The peaceful residence was instantly transformed into a fiery
battleground, with merciless assassins flooding in like an unyielding,
shadowy tide.
Inferno of Betrayal
Fortunately, Tia observed the elite guards, strong and determined, battling
fiercely against the attackers outside. Their once–solid defense was holding,
despite the intense assault.
“Mom, we need to get out through the side door! This place is a living
nightmare!” Tia grabbed Alessandra’s arm, trying to pull her away.
Alessandra, however, refused to move. “Did you see Old Mr. Quillen? The
servants said he was just arriving! They must have targeted him specifically.”
She wasn’t blind to the situation; the fact that the attack occurred right after,
Terence’s return suggested he was likely the primary target. Although the situation remained unclear, she knew that Terence was somewhat involved.
By stepping into the limelight as the Chairman of the Nuthana Chamber of
Commerce, the Quillen family had put a bullseye on their backs, drawing the
interest of some very dangerous foes. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Mom, Alfred took him out through the southern gate. With Alfred and his bodyguards, he should be safe. We need to get out of here now!” Tia’s panic

turned into a frantic tug as she tried to drag Alessandra away.
“Go ahead without me!” Alessandra noticed Logan and his bodyguards
charging into the villa and quickly pleaded, “Please get Tia somewhere safe!”
“Mom, what about you?” Tia, still frantic, continued to pull at her.
“I have to stay with Old Mr. Quillen. Don’t worry about me!” She freed herself
from Tia’s grasp and rushed back into the heart of the inferno.
“Mom! Mom!” Tia’s cries were a piercing blend of fear and frustration.
Alessandra’s bravery was undeniable, but it now felt like a perilous gamble in
the face of overwhelming danger.
“Ms. Tia, you must leave at once!” Logan’s command was urgent as he made
sure Tia was escorted to safety.
I can’t leave Alessandra behind. She’s Ms. Tia’s mother–in–law, and I’ve
promised to keep them both safe.
Inferno of Betrayal
With a final, reassuring glance, Logan plunged back into the inferno after
Alessandra, determined to protect her from the relentless threat.
Meanwhile, at the Verkade residence, Gautier stormed into his father’s study,
the scene a stark contrast to the chaos raging outside. William sat back in his
chair, leisurely sipping red wine as if the world had not shifted beneath them.
“Dad, why are you doing this?” Gautier’s voice trembled with a mix of disbelief
and deep disappointment. He could not understand why his father had
embraced such a brutal path.
William looked up, a predatory glint in his eyes as he swirled his wine. “Why
not? I’ve waited for this moment for ages!” His gaze was sharp with ambition.
“Mr. Lestrange has assured me that Emmanuel won’t be returning to
Chanaea or Yeringham. Once the Quillen family is destroyed, we, as the
second–largest shareholders, will seize control of the entire Terence Group!”
“And then,” he continued, his voice dripping with hunger, “the Verkade family

will ascend as the Chairman of the Nuthana Chamber of Commerce. With Mr.
Tanner’s protection, we will dominate Nuthana forever!”
Gautier’s heart sank under the weight of his father’s insatiable greed. With a
heavy sigh and deep disappointment, he turned and strode out of the study,
unable to bear another moment of his father’s ruthless plans.
“Gautier, where are you going?”
“This is none of your concern. Just do whatever you want!” Gautier’s tone was
resolute as he left the Verkade residence.
Why is he opposing now?
Confusion clouded William’s face, his frown deepening as he considered
Gautier’s unexpected reaction. Gautier’s resistance to this grand plan left
William perplexed, as has always been known for his ambition and readiness
to make harsh decisions.
