Love At The Wrong Table

Love at the 1859

The Final Push

Yasmine’s countenance turned darker by the second; she even ground her

teeth. “Emmanuel truly is a miracle worker, and all his miraculous power

comes from his wife! At this point, the only option is to quietly eliminate her!”

Agargar nodded and replied softly, “Rest assured, Ms. Morgan. I will fight

alongside you!”

Yasmine looked at him in surprise, a faint smile on her lips. “And why would

you do that?”

“Because I want to live too,” Agargar replied. “If Emmanuel and the Alliance

win, we might all be wiped out! As long as the Saintess doesn’t reach the fifth

floor, no one can defeat the Queen, and Emmanuel will surely die at the top.

Yasmine continued to scrutinize him, skeptical of his words, but she agreed,

“Alright, we shall join forces and act secretly. We absolutely cannot let the

Saintess reach the fifth floor!”

On the first floor of the tower, Bella shouted, “Everyone, take off your outer

“Report! We’ve found one!” A soldier from the Alliance suddenly shouted.

Gunshots rang out almost immediately. The Airspace Group infiltrator fired

first, and they attempted to flee after killing someone.

Suddenly…

Snap!

He was shot in the head by a shell casing.

Bella looked at Blake with surprise. “You’re quite impressive for someone so

ugly!”

Blake sized her up with a grin. “And you have quite the figure, but lucky for you, I’m even better in some areas. Want to see for yourself? Let me show you what it really means to experience a full day’s worth of passion.”

“Shut up, you shameless pervert!”

Blake wasn’t offended. During his work helping fallen women, he encountered

similar insults, including from undercover female officers. He was used to

such reprimands and found them more pleasant than music.

“Let’s go! I need you all to cover me as I head to the fifth floor!” After clearing

the traitors, Mackenzie gave her orders to Bella and the others.

“What?” Everyone was taken aback.

Bella urgently advised, “Your Holiness, you mustn’t! The Alliance hasn’t Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

completely taken control of this tower. The enemies on the third floor are still

resisting. With your condition, you can’t risk heading up!”

“That’s right!” Others echoed. “There are people within the Airspace Group

who want to kill you!”

“No! I must go up!” Mackenzie’s gaze was resolute. “I need to fight alongside

Emmanuel and secure victory in this war! Scarlet said Emmanuel needs my

“But…” Bella and the others were at a loss, given that Mackenzie was both the

commander–in–chief’s wife and the Saintess.

“Heh, go ahead!” Blake grinned. “It’s the grand finale today, and it’s time for

me to have my moment in the spotlight! Otherwise, you might think I’m just

here for show!”

Mackenzie smiled slightly. “Please clear the way for me then.”

“I…” Blake had only thought about delivering the final blow, not about being a

human shield.

“Thank you! After the victory, I’ll definitely tell Emmanuel and everyone that

you were the key figure in this war!” Mackenzie, knowing Blake’s character,

quickly adopted a conciliatory approach.

Blake sighed deeply, resigned to being the vanguard.

Mackenzie carefully ascended, her heart heavy upon seeing the bodies and

blood. It was hard to believe she was still experiencing such a war after being

on Dark Night Islands for a month. It felt like a different world, a parallel reality.

Yet, she knew it was still the same world, with her family outside still waiting

for her return. She had to stay strong and help Emmanuel win this battle.

Passing through the second floor without incident, she finally reached the

third floor. Hearing no immediate commotion, Blake and Bella were

somewhat reassured, thinking the situation was under control. However, as

soon as Mackenzie stepped onto the third floor, the Airspace Group guards,

hiding in a fortification room, suddenly began firing at the outside.

Thud, thud, thud!

Many from the Alliance fell instantly.

“Open fire!”
