Love at the Door

Chapter 89

Chapter 89

Feeling vexed, Melina decided that from now on, if she wanted something done, she had to do it herself instead of relying on others.

The innocent Toby, of course, had no idea that his reputation had been damaged thanks to Andrew’s pettiness.

Melina immediately started heading for the door. “I’ll get the doctor.”

“Nope. You need to bandage it for me. If you get someone else to do it, I’ll just let the wound fester,” Andrew declared.

“Andrew! Why are you messing around with your own body?”

Still standing with his back to Melina, he replied, “I’m not messing around.”

Melina didn’t doubt Andrew’s declaration. She knew he was a reckless man. Gritting her teeth, she said, “I’ll go and get a medical kit.”

“If the room’s layout is still the same, there should be an emergency medical kit in the second last drawer of the cabinet,” Andrew said.

Melina checked the cabinet, and true enough, she found it. Retrieving it, she went behind Andrew and started undoing his bandage with a grim expression.

Blood had soaked into the gauze, and once the blood dried, it made the gauze stick to the wound. Melina dared not peel the gauze off by force, so she moistened it with some disinfectant before slowly peeling it off.

She checked the wounds on his back. Some were swollen and started forming pus after being covered by the soiled bandage.

Melina gasped when she saw the severity of Andrew’s condition. She shot to her feet and insisted, “I have to get the doctor. Your wounds are inflamed, Andrew. You need to let a doctor check on you.”

“I forbid you.”

“B–But I don’t know what to do.”

“Just treat it like a normal wound, I’ll go to the hospital myself later on.”

With how foul of a temper Andrew had, Melina couldn’t do anything about his stubbornness. Recalling that he’d gotten injured while rescuing her, the sternness in her expression was replaced by exasperation. She couldn’t just do nothing about it, so after taking a deep breath, she tried to recall how Toby had dressed Andrew’s

wound. Slowly, she disinfected all of the open wounds and carefully rebandaged the

area with new gauze.

Due to her nervousness, her fingers were slightly clammy as they gently made contact with Andrew’s back. To him, her touch felt like tiny snowflakes on a hot summer’s day, cooling the ball of fiery ferocity inside of him.

In reality, by letting his guard down and allowing her to treat his injuries, he was proving that he trusted her. After all, he’d been poisoned through his open wounds before. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

Nevertheless, Melina didn’t know about this. She merely thought he was being too stubborn and reckless.

Once she bandaged his back, he got up and put his shirt back on before turning around to face her. The proximity made her step backward, but that displeased him.” Come here.”

However, Melina hurried off while saying, “I have stuff I need to do, Andrew. Remember to head to the hospital later today.”

“Melina!”

Melina fled the room as if she didn’t hear Andrew calling her name. Perhaps he came over to say something to her, but she didn’t want to hear it.

She only wanted to treat him like her savior. She was willing to care about his health and his injuries, but she didn’t want to have any confusing feelings involved.

In any case, she did have a tutoring session to go to.

To avoid Andrew, Melina left the Wentworth residence without even having lunch first. Her student lived within walking distance just a few hundred feet away. It was only when she arrived that she remembered she hadn’t had lunch yet.

Had she arrived too early?

The tutoring session with Dante was supposed to start in the afternoon, but there wasn’t a fixed time. She figured that since it was past 1:00 pm, it counted as the afternoon already.
