Chapter 79 – I’m Romeo and Lily is Juliet.
Cayden
I knew that Lily didn’t want us to go out together alongside Jacek, that was why she told me to leave.
The look that was on Jacek’s face when he saw me, made me happy that I didn’t go with his mom’s words and leave. I hugged him and we both walked to his mother.
I could see that Lily was a little bit surprised and shocked that I didn’t leave, even when she told me to.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Come on, Juliet. Let’s go.” I love Lily’s name, but I think I love calling her Juliet more. The fact that she called me Romeo earlier, made me call her Juliet too.
I’m her Romeo and she’s my Juliet. Hmm.
“I still can’t believe that you actually waited. Why did you do that?” She asked me while we were walking to my car.
In response to what she said, I pointed to Jacek who was busy jumping on me in excitement and she nodded her head. She understood what that meant.
We got into the car, I switched the car on and we zoomed off.
My eyes were fixed on the road, but I could feel Lily’s eyes on me. I didn’t want to let her know that I could see her staring at me, so I just continued staring at the road.
“Where are we going?” She said and I finally faced her. I was thinking about going to an amusement park and a zoo, but I hadn’t decided yet.
“We have to pick. Zoo, amusement park or a very fancy restaurant?” I asked and I could hear Jacek’s scream of excitement and I smiled.
“A.. muse.. ment park.. k. k.” Jacek yelled and I could see Lily smiling too. I wanted to go to the zoo, then a fancy restaurant, but I also wanted to make Jacek happy. So, I just decided to go to the amusement park.
I tried having small talks with Lily, but she just gave me ‘one-word’ replies, so I just stopped and we continued the ride in silence.
Hours later and we finally got to the amusement park. Before I got down from the car, I saw that Lily and Jacek had already gotten down and were already walking to the gate.
I walked really fast and caught up with them. I wanted to ask Lily why she was acting really weird and.. annoying, but I didn’t want to do that in Jacek’s presence, so I just carried the boy and we entered the gate in silence.
I paid for so many rides for us to do together, even though most of the rides were for only Jacek.
“How do you feel about this? Happy?” I asked Lily, while we waited for the ticket for a particular ride.
“I feel okay.” Lily simply said and she turned away from me.
The cashier looked at me sceptical before handing me the ticket.
We were about to go, when she stopped us. “Excuse me sir. Your wife is a really beautiful woman.”
I looked at the cashier and I smiled. I was about to tell her that Lily wasn’t my wife, but Lily beat me to it.
“Um, sorry. I’m not his wife. Don’t make that mistake again. We just know each other, nothing more.” She said to the cashier, while the cashier and I watched her in awe.
We were about to leave again, when Lily stopped us. “And please, get back to work.” She said to the cashier and she stormed off, without waiting for Jacek and I.
I threw an apologetic smile at the cashier and I went after her. I took Jacek to the ride without her and after making sure that he was comfortable, I left him and I went to Lily.
“What was that, Lily? I need to know why you’ve been acting really weird and crazy. Did I do anything wrong?”
“How many questions at a time?” She said and faced forward.
“I don’t know. You’re the boss, you tell me.” I said with an edgy voice and she faced me again.
“It’s nothing, Cayden. Let’s just focus on why we’re here.” She said and she looked away from me…again.
Jacek was done with his ride and he ran to us with a huge smile on his face.
“Did you enjoy your ride?” Lily asked him in a baby-ish voice and he nodded enthusiastically.
We went on other rides together and an hour later, Jacek’s enthusiasm was dying down. Before the little boy gets completely tired, I decided to use him to make Lily’s mood lighter.
So, the both of us made a plan to surprise his mom with a very fun ride and so many other things. I was really happy when I saw that the amusement park had a fancy restaurant too, so I already made a plan to go there with her later, when we were done with our rides.
“Jacek wants to tell you something, Lily.” I said to her after making the plan with Jacek and she turned her attention to the little boy immediately.
“What’s wrong, baby?” She asked him and he hugged her instantly.
“Let’s get on that ride together, mummy. Please, can we do that?” He asked while doing the puppy dog eyes and Lily hugged him.
I was happy that she agreed and we got on the ride. I sat down beside her, so whenever the ride got a little bit scary for her, she would cling on to me and close her eyes. Jacek too did the same and I was really happy about it. It weirdly felt like we were a family and I wasn’t uncomfortable with that. I was so cool with it..
We got off the ride and we all went to the restaurant. At the restaurant, I could see that Lily’s mood was still a little bit.. bad, but it was a little bit better.
We got our meals and finished them instantly because of how famished we were.
We were done with everything that we wanted to do and I could see that Jacek was going to sleep a minute later, so I told Lily to follow me to the car, while carrying him.
I hadn’t even dropped him on the back seat and the boy was already snoring softly.
Lily and I were now alone, with no interruptions. I decided to ask her why she was moody again.
“I noticed that you’ve been acting this way since the day you left my house, why’s that?” I asked carefully, so I wouldn’t annoy her.
Lily told me that it was nothing and it was only because she was so tired, she couldn’t think of anything good to say to me.
I wasn’t satisfied with her answer because it seemed like it was more than that, so I started pressuring her.
In the process of doing that, the woman that took me site seeing yesterday saw us and she instantly approached me.
She started bringing up work unannounced without acknowledging Lily at all.
I continued discussing with her, not noticing that the two women were somehow fighting.
She suddenly told me that she needed my help, and I refused her. That was when she acknowledged Lily.
