Love At Last

The dinner date

Cayden

Lily excusing herself from the table alarmed me. I didn’t realise what I had said would anger Lily. It was all just an act, right? I tried talking to her to sit down but she paid deaf ears and walked away. Good thing was, the people at the table easily got carried away by another topic and weren’t paying attention to the show Lily was putting up with me… except Aaron of course. Such a nosy cunt.

Aaron followed me closer towards the bar area of the hall as I got up to follow Lily. I paid no attention to him, I needed to catch up with Lily. I felt someone grab my shoulder and turned me around; Aaron. There were lots of people around, so he held me closely so no one would notice. We stayed close to a champagne tower, just close to the entrance. A lady walked in, catching both of our attention. She was in a very astonishing dress. She had a slender body, her hair was slipped back with curly ends. The colour of her dress was green and it was neck plunging, showing a lot of cleavages, her skin yellow and well moisturized. She also had full-on makeup with bold red lipstick. She was a model, I’m guessing a very expensive one. Aaron drooled, he seemed to have a type; any lady that looked hot. His eyes followed her till she got to her seat.

“Earth to Aaron? Can you let go of my hand now?” he turned back to me and cleared his throat

“There’s no need pretending I know that you and lily are not together and I will take her from you at the slightest chance I have. And even if you are together, ill still take her from you” Aaron said, looking at me with those eyes of his and a smouldering look. He must think I’m the one to easily be threatened. I made a fist, trying very hard to not punch him but I released it, forcing my hands out of his grip and said; This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.

“No matter how hard you try, Lily will never accept you. She’s too smart for that” his face turned red, and he looked annoyed. I wonder how people could be so petty. I continued my chase after Lily. She went into the lady’s bathroom and I followed her nonetheless, not bothering if there were other ladies in the bathroom. I needed to know why she suddenly excused herself like that.

“Lily!” she didn’t answer or even turn back

“Lily!!” she ignored again. I knew she could hear me perfectly well.

“Lily, come on,” I said gaining on her and pulling her back to me.

“trying to go to the bathroom again and you still won’t let me?

“Please stop running and tell me why you acted the way you did at the table, did I say something wrong?

“What do you mean? Elaborate please” she asked rolling her eyes like she didn’t know what I was talking about.

“You know, when they talked about the whole marriage thing and I laughed and you got angry… I don’t get it, I thought we were just playing pretend. Or do you plan on sabotaging me already? I knew I saw this coming!” I was almost furious. She gave me a dead stare.

“wow, you’ve got some nerve. After I followed you here, gave you clients, and won their hearts like a sweet little girl; all you did was leave me, forgetting I followed you here and focusing on the real reason you came here. I was left all alone. What did you expect me to do? Sit in one place and wait for you? I had to be lucrative with my time, I made a new friend you know, the guy that’s been following me around? Who knows, he might just be the one for me since you’re not!” she raised her voice.

There were some ladies behind who had overheard Lily’s speech but luckily, they were not important. They looked stunning though in their beautiful couture dinner dresses. I needed to complement them.

“Good evening ladies, you all look wonderful” they blushed and thanked me, happiness showing in their walking steps as they bounced away. They mostly gave Lily a weird look while passing her. One of them walked back and tried talking to her.

“Hey, I overheard you guys talking and I know I shouldn’t have but from what I heard, I don’t get why you’re mad” she continued “you guys had an agreement and he’s just acting based on what you agreed. There’s no need to be sulking like a child just run with it and maybe at the end of the day, you might just fall for yourselves you sound like you have feelings for him so stop pretending and come out already!” she said and walked away with the rest of the crew that was waiting for her.

I and Lily were in shock but I didn’t show mine. I never guessed Lily would have any form of likeness for me anyway.

I looked back at Lily, placing my hands on her shoulders, her mouth was agape. I smiled and closed it up for her as I leaned forward and spoke, looking directly into her eyes;

“come on Lily, that was the agreement we made. None of it is real. You know I made you follow me because you already know me and it was going to be easier going with someone I already know. But they came up with the whole marriage talk, throwing me off guard. You know we’re not going there”

That speech didn’t look like it made her feel any better, she shook my hands away from her shoulders and stepped back.

“Look, I’m simply playing my part and I need you to because you simply are not”

She looked at me and didn’t say anything like she was in shock. Was that something wrong too?
