Love after Betrayal (Casper and Natalie)

Chapter 17

Chapter 17

--- Rumor had it that the eldest daughter of the Hartwell Family was a useless wimp who had no

standing in the Hartwell Family, which was why the woman in red had the audacity to humiliate her in

public.

However, no one knew that she could become so crazy when she went mad.

Frightened, the woman in red cried out in alarm, “You’re a madwoman, Natalie Hartwell! What are you

doing? Take it away! W-What are you guys waiting for? Casper, save me!”

Casper swirled the glass of red wine in his hand while fixing his narrow eyes upon Natalie.

Little did he think that she would fight back.

“Go back to your room if you’ve had enough.”

He took a sip of his red wine while looking completely imperturbable.

Natalie looked at him with a frosty look in her eyes, but one could tell at a glance from her slightly

reddened eyes that she had just cried.

“If you dare say another word about my mom next time, I’ll kill you!”

She let go of the vase.

Everyone’s heart shuddered for a moment when they heard the loud crash of the broken vase dropping

to the floor.

Natalie then went upstairs and slammed the door shut with a loud bang.

The Langston Family had strict rules, and Casper hated it when someone made too much noise at

home.

Therefore, there were no other servants at home apart from Mrs. Jenkins.

Today was Sasha’s birthday, but no one dared to play music to celebrate it.

How dare this woman glare at Casper and slam the door shut? Either she’s crazy or she really isn’t

afraid of dying.

Everyone looked at each other while secretly studying Casper’s expression.

As a matter of fact, the antique vase that Natalie had smashed just now was worth 10 million, yet she

smashed it without hesitation.

However, Casper merely swirled his glass of red wine while looking imperturbable from start to finish

without getting angry.

Still, now that such an incident had happened at the birthday party, there was no way the party could

continue.

Someone who worked in the science and technology industry and knew a little about the Hartwell

Family broke the silence, saying, “I heard that today is the anniversary of the death of Natalie Hartwell’s

mother.

Sasha, you shouldn’t have spoken of her mother like that just now.”

The woman just now was Sasha Maxwell, the eldest daughter of the Maxwell Group’s owner and

Casper’s former fiancée.

Her hands trembling, she clapped her hand over her wound as frostiness filled her eyes.

She had suffered a crushing defeat during the confrontation just now.

As a result, she was very angry, but she was afraid of making Casper angry.

“Sorry, Casper, but I didn’t mean it just now.

I-I just care too much about you.

Whenever I think of her being married to you, I can’t control myself.

I won’t do that again next time,”

she apologized pitifully.

Casper didn’t look at her.

Curling his bony fingers around the glass of red wine, he handed it to her before saying in a deep and

mellow voice, “Happy birthday.”

Feeling extremely flattered, Sasha blushed crimson while reaching out for the glass of wine.

“Thank you, Cas—”

Just as her hand was about to touch the wine glass, the wine glass in his hand dropped to the floor with

a crash.

“Even if you want to teach her a lesson, you should have some respect for the person at her back.”

Casper adjusted his gold cuffs with slender fingers. This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Then, he warned in a seemingly nonchalant voice, “Natalie isn’t someone you can lay a hand on.

Even if she’s a dog in my family, it’s not up to someone else to bully her.”

Feeling humiliated, Sasha clenched her fists.

“But you two will be getting divorced very soon.

She won’t even be considered a dog in the family by then!”

Casper’s eyes suddenly fell upon her.

Then, he replied in a chilly voice, “Even if it’s something that I don’t want anymore, nobody else has the

right to trample on it!”

The air in the room froze.

A man sitting beside Casper immediately tried to mediate between the two.

“Mr. Langston, Miss Maxwell’s throat is hurt by the broken vase, so she may contract tetanus.

The way I see it, we’d better send her to the hospital first,”

he said before darting a look at the bodyguard.

The bodyguard came up in an attempt to take Sasha away.

Sasha felt somewhat frustrated.

Thinking that she had lost face, she turned to look at Casper and demanded, “Casper, send me to the

hospital.”

If Casper sent her to the hospital, not only would it prove that she held a special place in his heart, but

she’d also be able to win back her dignity, which she had lost tonight.

Casper’s lips curled into a smirk.

“Don’t you have legs?”

Everyone was rendered speechless, and some couldn’t help but laugh.

The person who had acted as a mediator just now stepped forward once again.

“Casper has just recovered, so he must be tired.

Sasha, let me send you to the hospital.”

Sasha was unwilling to resign herself to this, but she had no other option.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she replied, “Okay.”

After she was taken away, everyone else quickly left the scene.

Seeing that the guests had left, Mrs. Jenkins came over to clear the broken glass away from the carpet.

Casper darted a look upstairs before his gaze fell inadvertently upon the stain of red wine on the

carpet.

He lowered his eyes, saying, “Mrs. Jenkins, I suddenly feel like eating the chicken noodle soup you

made.

Go make a bowl of it for me.”

“Yes, Mr. Langston.”
