Chapter 663: Angela's Delayed Meal
Jared glared menacingly at Joshua, but his clenched fist hesitated to fall. Suddenly, he realized that the man before him was not the uncle he remembered. He did not deserve the name Joshua, did not deserve to be part of the Farrell family, and certainly did not deserve to incite such anger in him.
Slowly, Jared loosened his grip, allowing Joshua to collapse to the ground like a free-falling object. Joshua did not struggle; he fell like a fallen leaf and then chuckled lightly. No one knew what he was laughing about, nor could anyone discern what was going through his mind.
Jared pulled out a handkerchief, wiped his hands, and indifferently tossed it to the ground.
"White Tiger, I wonder if you'd still be as spirited without ST-1."
Joshua's laughter abruptly stopped, and his eyes, sharp as knives, shot straight towards Jared.
"What do you mean?" Jared sneered, "Exactly what I said," and with that, he walked away.
Joshua made a move to follow, but was firmly chained, unable to move. He could only roar at the iron bars, "Stop, clarify your words, stop!" Jared did not look back and drove away. In fact, it was just a casual remark.
He had merely speculated that Joshua had also been injected with ST-1, based on evidence Angela had brought back.
And now, to his surprise, it was true.
What exactly was the effect of ST-1 that even Joshua continued to receive injections? Tina had checked; there was no virus in Joshua's body, and he was healthy. But now, only Tina could unravel the mysteries of ST-1's effects.
In the hospital, Tina went to the lab, leaving Natalie in Angela's care. Though comatose Natalie did not require special care, Angela felt compelled to stay by her side. Angela carefully wiped Natalie's palms, murmuring, "Alina, when will you wake up?" Angela sat beside Natalie, recalling childhood memories. As she spoke, she moved on to the time after Natalie had left the Brookes family.
"After you left, your father was like a lost soul, always busy searching for you. He even fell ill once and never fully recovered. Alina, if you wake up, perhaps you could help cure him?" After wiping Natalie's hands, Angela began massaging her, "I remember once, Brandon said I was training hard and offered to massage me, but he ended up dislocating my arm, which hurt for days. I've always suspected he did it on purpose."
"I didn't."Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Startled, Angela instantly turned around, swinging her hand in a chopping motion, only to have it caught by a pair of large hands.
"I didn't target you on purpose; I genuinely wanted to massage you, but you wouldn't let me, and I accidentally dislocated your arm," Brandon explained, lifting a cake.
"Tina mentioned you haven't eaten, so I picked up some cake on the way. Have something to eat first; I'll take care of Alina."
Angela pursed her lips and freed her wrist, her stomach conveniently growling. Brandon smiled and handed her the cake, "Go ahead and eat."
Angela was not refusing or running away; she sat silently on the side, eating her cake.
"Alina once said she would wake up, and her words never fall empty, so let's not worry and just peacefully wait for her to wake up, okay?"
While pressing on Natalie's wrist, Brandon spoke to Angela in a gentle, soothing voice.
Yet, his eyes still harbored deep concern.
How could he not worry when his sister, whom he had finally found, was now unconscious and unable to wake up?
Angela nodded her head.
She knew that Alina would definitely wake up.
After Brandon finished massaging Natalie, he sat down across from Angela.

"Angela, what about you? When are you coming back? Dad is very worried about you."
Angela lowered her head and did not respond.
Asking her now, she didn't know herself.
The Five Poisons were still untraceable, the secrets of st-1 remained unsolved, and even investigating at Joshua's university yielded no results.
Having left the Brookes family for so long, she hadn't cleared up any clues.
She simply had no face to return to the Brookes family.
Seeing Angela's embarrassment, Brandon gently tapped her forehead, "We will look for the Five Poisons, don't put all the pressure on yourself. Just like Alina said, you need to be happy, understand?" Angela pursed her lips, struggling for a long while before finally speaking, "Brandon, what exactly do you like about me?"
Brandon, clearly not expecting such a question from Angela, flashed a look of surprise in his eyes.
"I like you... I just like you, there's no particular reason."
Angela asked softly, "I just don't know what your affection is, it seems like you shouldn't like me, it's a bit strange, I see you as a brother..."
Brandon couldn't quite articulate his feelings at that moment.
Being regarded as a brother by the person he liked was the most irreconcilable feeling in the world.
"Angela, then why don't you feel this awkward when dealing with Issac, Gavin, and Jack?"
This question left Angela speechless.
"I don't feel awkward with them; I just feel they are like brothers."
Finally, Brandon grasped the crux of the issue, a bit excitedly clutching Angela's hand, "That's it, you feel they are like Jared, but you only want to see me as Jared, that's the difference." "What's the difference?" Angela asked.
Brandon took a deep breath, "It's that, maybe in your heart, I don't have to be your brother, right?"
Angela lowered her head again, unsure of what to do.
Brandon said no more, silently telling himself not to rush, to stay calm.
Angela, naive and stubborn from a young age, did not understand emotions; these matters couldn't be rushed.
"Alright, don't think about it anymore, but promise me, no more running away, okay?" Brandon gently pinched Angela's hand, a faint smile on his face.
Angela nodded, "Then can you promise me, after I find the Five Poisons, we can talk about these things, I don't want to figure this out right now." "Okay, I'll listen to you."
