Chapter 1218: House Of Rainstorms
Chapter 1218: House of Rainstorms
After entering the second floor of the palace, everyone was stunned by the scene before them. The second floor was essentially a treasure trove, filled with countless treasures that glittered in gold and silver. There were numerous jewels, weapons, and other valuable items. Everyone's eyes lit up with desire, and some couldn't resist starting to grab things. But soon, they realized something was wrong.
"Father, how do we take these things out?" Grayson Abernathy, son of Peterson Abernathy, saw a sword he wanted to claim but couldn't pull it out no matter how hard he tried.
Chris Shelby observed for a moment and then said with a wry smile, "If I'm not mistaken, each person can only take one item from here."
Everyone was puzzled by this rule. Although confused, they found that once they took one item, they couldn't take another. Those who had already taken something regretted their haste and wished they had chosen more carefully. Those who hadn't taken anything yet began to observe more closely, unsure of what to pick.
Chris Shelby didn't move. These treasures were invaluable to ordinary people but meant nothing to him. He was already incredibly wealthy, worth billions. However, since he had come all this way, he decided to take something. He chose a piece of soft armor that could be worn to protect against enemy attacks. Though not the best item there, it suited him well.
Tiger chose a tiger-head knife that made him look imposing. Others also selected their treasures while some remained indecisive.
Peterson Abernathy and Daniel Williams stood together, whispering about something. Daniel Williams had previously allied with the Abernathy family as a temporary measure, but both he and Peterson shared a common enemy: Chris Shelby.
After their conversation, Peterson turned to Chris and asked, "Chris Shelby, is this all there is here?"
Chris shook his head and replied, "I don't know for sure, but this palace is huge; there must be many places we haven't explored yet."
"Boss, look at that!" Tiger suddenly exclaimed.
Chris followed Tiger's pointing finger and saw some inscriptions in a corner. He walked over and his expression changed.
"House of Rainstorms! I can't believe this is the House of Rainstorms; the legend must be true!"
Daniel Williams and Peterson Abernathy were curious. "What's the House of Rainstorms?" they asked.
Chris took a deep breath and explained, "Legend has it that Prince Felix was buried in a secret tomb called the House of Rainstorms after being killed by Carrie Grant. This place we're in now is that tomb. The House of Rainstorms has nine levels, each filled with treasures collected by Prince Felix during his lifetime. The higher you go, the more dangerous it becomes, but the treasures also become more valuable." "What? This is Prince Felix's tomb? Isn't this Victor Yellowbird's tomb?" Daniel Williams and Peterson Abernathy couldn't believe what they were hearing.
Chris shook his head. "This isn't Victor Yellowbird's tomb. He discovered this place and buried himself here later on. If I'm correct, this is indeed Prince Felix's tomb."
Daniel Williams and Peterson Abernathy were too shocked to speak. It was all too unbelievable.
Meanwhile, in a secret room within the House of Rainstorms sat a man in meditation. He suddenly opened his eyes and murmured to himself, "Finally, someone has come after all these years of guarding this place. I wonder who will be lucky enough to obtain the Dragon Emblem scroll..."
Back in the second-floor palace, everyone gathered again. There were still many treasures left but no one could take more than one item.
Chris addressed the group: "Each level of the House of Rainstorms gets progressively more dangerous. The first level was the easiest; by the third level, we'll face even greater dangers and more deaths." Everyone's faces changed at Chris's words. Even Tiger was surprised: "Boss, that's terrifying! Should we continue? It sounds extremely dangerous."
Everyone looked at Chris for guidance.
The House of Rainstorms had nine levels in total each presenting its own perilous challenges that increased exponentially with each level. They had already faced nearly a thousand Terracotta Warriors on the first level; who knew what
awaited them next?
Peterson Abernathy gripped his sword tightly and stared at the passage ahead.
Suddenly he declared, "Follow me! I must have the Dragon Emblem scroll!" Without hesitation, he strode forward with thousands of Abernathy family members following him.
After Peterson entered the passageway with his followers, Chris Shelby and Daniel Williams remained still.
Chris had brought thousands of royal guards with him-each one an elite warrior crucial to Amerosia's defense. Losing even one would be a significant loss for the country.
Daniel William's glanced at ChrisContent property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
with a mocking smile: "Chris Shelby,
aren't you going in? This is Prince
Felix's tomb; the higher you go, the
richer the rewards but also greater dangers. Are you backing out? Think carefully!"
Chris responded with a cold smile: "Lord Protector, don't provoke me! If you're so brave, why don't you go first?"
