Let's Start All Over Again, Shall We (Maggie and Nathaniel)

Chapter 375

Chapter 375 Maggie’s Kidnapping

Maggie knew that Nathael harboured lingering resentment over the incident where Timmothy had abducted her right under his nose.

She aimed to afford him a chance to liberate himself from that remorse.

Nathael maintained a stoic silence, his lips pressed together as he pondered the proposition.

In the meantime, Maggie felt unsettled and persisted, “How about giving it a shot? Let’s delve into a cosplay adventure!”

Nathael blinked his deep eyes open and murmured gently, “Your boldness is quite remarkable.”

Perplexed, Maggie inquired, “What’s that supposed to mean?”

His statement left her utterly baffled!

“Nathael!” Maggie suspected a misunderstanding, unaware that within a few days she would find herself tied up by Timmothy.

A subtle grin graced Nathael’s lips, softening his features and instantly dispelling the cold, rendering him strikingly attractive.

Maggie leaned closer and exclaimed, “You smiled! That’s an agreement in my book. No backing out now!”

Noting his unwavering determination, Nathael’s brow creased once again, his voice chilling as he cautioned. These individuals are seasoned international mercenaries, each with a trail of blood behind them. If you end up in their grasp and anything goes wrong….

Unfazed, Maggie fixed her gaze on him, steadfast in her conviction. “Nothing will go awry, Nathael. You must have faith in yourself! You’re the best!”

With no hesitation, Maggie depicted a hopeful future for Nathael, leaving him at a loss for words for quite some time. Even upon reaching the company, he remained subdued.

Nonetheless, Maggie stayed resolute, standing beside him with a smile as she exchanged pleasantries with others.

She held unwavering faith in him, understanding that he esteemed himself even more than her own life.

Should another mishap befall her, it could very well lead to her demise!

After extensive persuasion, Nathael eventually acquiesced with a nod.

The next day, around noon.

Maggie departed from Nathael’s presence, purposefully creating an opportunity for Sierra.

Aware of Sierra’s stringent security measures, Maggie understood her chances of striking were slim.

While standing by the roadside, attempting to flag down a cab, Nathael, harbouring some distrust, had

Furthermore, he had discreetly stashed a dagger and a small packet of sedatives on her, acquired through means unknown.

Just as Maggie was poised to signal for a cab, a white van suddenly screeched to a halt before her.

Two figures clad in helmets and military boots emerged from the van.

“What are you

Maggie attempted to protest, but before she could react, a cloth saturated with sedatives was pressed against her mouth.

She held her breath, simulating unconsciousness as her body went slack.

Subsequently, she was unceremoniously thrown into the van.

The van had been stripped of several seats. Maggie was flung onto the bare metal floor. The cold surface bit through her clothing, her discomfort escalating with each jolt of the vehicle.

Although she held her breath, she still ingested a fair amount of sedatives, leaving her feeling drowsy and disoriented. Her condition wasn’t great.

However, her acting skills were passable, and coupled with her previous experience, she managed to maintain some semblance of consciousness.

“Search her. See if she has anything on her.”

A foreign man spoke, and shortly after, Maggie could sense someone approaching to search her, taking away her phone and wallet,

As for those two tracking devices, they are the most advanced stealth equipment internationally, and with these mercenaries entering the country, it was difficult to obtain high–end inspection machines. Thus, they went unnoticed.

At this moment, ever since Maggie boarded the van, Nathael’s car had quietly followed behind.

Nathael occupied the car, his countenance shadowed, his jaw locked in a tight grip, and his heart enveloped in suspense.

Apart from the last time she fell into Timmothy’s hands, it seemed like he hadn’t felt this sense of fear in a long time. But now he has once again experienced it.

Nathael dared not contemplate the consequences if the entire plan went awry.

Suddenly, he regretted it. The moment Maggie was led into the van by someone else, he regretted it.

He shouldn’t have let her act recklessly. He couldn’t afford even the slightest mishap.

The other party possessed a keen awareness of anti–tracking measures, but Nathael had long prepared for this. Every intersection had a car ready to seamlessly blend in, appearing inconspicuous.

Furthermore, each car was equipped with a computer, with dedicated personnel constantly monitoring Maggie’s location and tracking the red dot.

At every traffic intersection, there was another teamh keeping an eye on the signals to prevent losing track

At this moment, all surveillance cameras and monitors across the streets of Aquapolis were fully operational. The white van appeared like a moving target amidst it all.

Despite the meticulous preparation, when Nathael’s car was replaced by someone else, the white vart vanished completely from his sight.

His heart was torn uncontrollably, overwhelmed by an indescribable sense of unease and panic.

His thin lips tightened as he forced himself to replay the entire plan in his mind over and over again, ensuring there were no oversights.

His

gaze remained fixed on the screen, tracking Maggie’s location, but he couldn’t shake off the worry that the tracker might be discovered, leading others astray.

However, all of his concerns were unnecessary.

While the mercenaries had strong counter–surveillance awareness, it was only effective against ordinary people or typical mercenaries.

However, the personnel under Nathael’s command were the most talented, having been trained extensively since childhood.

Moreover, he personally enlisted a significant number of personnel from the military district for this operation, carefully selecting the team for the tracking mission himself.

As a result, they were successfully tracked down to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts.

Maggie was in a dazed state, so she decided to feign unconsciousness throughout the journey.

Her hands and feet were bound. When the car arrived, someone directly hoisted her over their shoulder.

Maggie quietly opened her eyes and surveyed her surroundings, realising that the location Sierra had chosen was the same as in her past life.

The familiar place, everything familiar..

The desolate surroundings and the abandoned warehouse were devoid of any signs of life.

Maggie hesitated for a moment, unwilling to admit it, but her heart tightened slowly at this moment.

The memories drenched in blood began to resurface, along with the familiar scenery.

She felt as if her blood had cooled throughout her body, accompanied by profound and piercing pain.

As memories slowly returned, every breath felt like a stab of agony, suffocating and unsettling, filled with fear and despair.

Maggie comforted herself, telling herself not to be afraid and that this life was different from before.

Everything would be different.

Nathael was nearby, and he would always be there for her. He would come to rescue her.

Perhaps it was because she had so little of her own and even less to give.

All she could offer was this unreserved trust and reliance.
