Chapter 18: How Do You Know That I Was Eavesdropping

With a soft smile playing on her lips, Linda raised her hand and pinched Michelle's face affectionately.

"I know you're saying this for my own good, but I can't bring myself to steal something that doesn't belong to me.If Leona still loves Cecil, I'll step aside and give this position back to her."

"If she still loves him, why would she run away from the wedding?"

Michelle pointed out, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't know," Linda said slowly, shaking her head in a daze.

"Exactly. If you know for sure that she doesn't love him anymore, will you be willing to try and win his heart?"

"Maybe..."

"Good.Think about what I said.We can talk about it later."

Linda nodded with a relieved smile.

"Okay, let's eat first."

"Okay."

Initially, Linda didn’t take Michelle's words seriously, but the more she thought about it, the more she realized that it made sense. NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

‘‘It's okay if Leona doesn't love Cecil anymore.Or if she still does love Cecil, I'll gladly return the position of Mrs.Bo to her.But if she comes back just to hurt him, the man who I have been in love with for so many years, I can't just sit back and let it happen” she decided.

After having lunch, Linda and Michelle went shopping for a while, and then went to the cinema to watch a movie.

It was half past five when the movie ended.

Linda wanted to have dinner outside, too, but Michelle urged her to go home and have dinner with Cecil, so that they could spend more time with each other and perhaps even fall in love.

Linda couldn't believe how determined her best friend was, but she relented and took a taxi back to Cecil's house.

When she was walking down the pathway to the villa, her phone rang. She fished it out of her handbag and checked the caller ID, which showed that her dad was calling.

After taking a glance at the gate of the villa, she walked to the side and answered the phone.

"Dad."

"Linda, do you have any news about Leona?"

The good spirits that she was in after spending the whole day with her best friend dissipated in an instant.

"Dad, I...I don't."

Martin sighed.

"Cecil said that he would visit our house with you tomorrow, but we still have no idea of Leona's whereabouts. The people I sent out to look for her haven't found any leads. What do you think we should do?"

"Don't worry too much. There must be a solution for all this. After all, this is a marriage between the Ye family and the Bo family.I think...I think he won't dare to announce the truth to the public."

"I hope so.We can only wait and see.Linda, he didn't make things difficult for you, did he?"

Linda shook her head and quickly reassured her father.

"No, Dad.Don't worry."

"Well, that's good."

After hanging up the phone, Linda continued to stand at the same spot with her phone in her hand, lost in her thoughts.

It was only after a few minutes passed that she turned around.

What a coincidence...

As soon as she turned around, she saw Cecil standing not far away, gazing at her with an_ inexplicable expression on his face.

His piercing eyes bored into her, as if trying to see through her.

Linda unconsciously tightened her grip on her phone.

She took a few deep breaths and walked towards him, pretending to be calm.

"Mr.Bo, how long have you been standing here?"

Cecil raised his eyebrows slightly.

"Is it necessary for me to tell you?"

"It's not a good habit to eavesdrop on other people's conversations, is it?"

Sneering, Cecil took a step forward.

With a sarcastic smile, he asked, "How do you know that I was eavesdropping?"
