“Take off your mask mate for I need to see your face,” I ordered her.

I waited patiently for her to take them off but it was like taking off a mask needs a grand style.

“Can’t you hear me very well?” I asked her.

“I am sorry, I should not be doing this, I need to go, we never had this dance please.” She said in a shivering tone.

“Wait a minute,” I said trying to stop her but she ran out from the hall.

“What just happened?” I asked Raja.

“I think you ruined it trying to act like you are lord, you need to go for her right now,” Raja said to me.

“I will do just that and lastly do not tell me I ruined it, it’s not because of my attitude she ran off.” I made myself clear by leaving the hall trying to find her.

I tried to smell her to know where exactly she went to and I finally caught her scent, I saw a door and about opening it someone held my hands.

“Hi, I guess you are the almighty Alpha Lorde? Wow finally, I got to meet with you, my name is Katarina.” She said smiling.

“You have no mask on.” She said smiling and I touched my face, it’s true, I took off my mask earlier.

“I see.”

“Let’s dance together.” She placed her hands trying to hold mine when I yelled at her, “Hey.”

“Oh mine, I am so sorry, I should have asked for your permission, the truth is this Alpha, it has been my wish to have a dance with the almighty alpha.” Saying this to me the door opened and my mate came out, immediately she saw me she took off.

“Hey wait,” I said to her trying to run after her but two couples stopped me.

“Alpha Lorde, is everything okay? Why are you running?” One of them said to me?

“Who is that lady that is running from me? ” I asked.

“Oh she is nobody, maybe just a waitress, let’s go back inside the party.” The man said.

“I need to go after her, I need to see the face behind the mask and know why she is running from me,” I added.

The man took off his mask and I recognise him as the Beta of the Blue Moon pack, the host of the mask party.

“As the Beta of the Blue Moon pack, I would say a man of your high status, almighty alphas that oversee all pack should not be seen by any werewolf in this party running after a waitress, it will speak low of your reputation.” He said.

“My husband is right, you are well respected and it will look absurd when your subjects see you running after a girl like her.” The lady beside him replied.

“What if she is my mate?” I asked.

“Oh no, the moon goddess can’t do that.”

About to respond to their message, someone came saying, “Alpha Lorde your presence is needed in the party now.”

“I will join you now.”

I looked at them and I could tell something is fishy, “Do you feel that they don’t want me as her mate because of the rumours about me?” I asked Raja.

“I think so, I feel they are trying their best to make sure you don’t come close to her,” Raja replied.

“What if she indirectly rejected me? Maybe running away is her way of rejecting me, I think they are right, I should not be seen running after a girl, maybe there is a mistake somewhere, let’s get back in.” I concluded with Raja.

Turning around to go inside, Katarina walked to me saying, “About what I was saying.”

“Get lost,” I yelled and I could see fear in her eyes through the mask she had on.

I entered the party hall and guess what, I grew angrier when I discovered Alpha Myles of the Golden Pack just found his mate.

They were told to have their first dance then every one of us will have to watch.

I heard some ladies talking about me, they know I can hear them but yet I feel they did it to provoke me, one of them said, “I feel so bad for the Almighty Alpha, he still could not find his mate and the masked party is about to end, such an ill fate.”

“I have a feeling maybe his mate rejected him because of the stuff said about him but I do not mind if I get mated to him, look how handsome and cute he is.”

I looked at the newfound mate dancing and after the dance, we all clapped, they started kissing and I was feeling hot in here, that should be me but I got rejected by a waitress, I feel so insulted by my status.

“I need to get back home tonight,” I said to Raja.

“I was about saying it but still don’t you think you should search for our mate, maybe know the reason why she ran away just like that?” Raja advised.

“There is no medicine after death in my dictionary, I am going home, I feel so angry now, I might end up ripping out the heart of those founded mate.”

I came out as other alphas extended their goodbyes before leaving, I entered my car and zoomed off at a very high speed.

“I hope you are not planning to get yourself killed?” Raja asked.

“Not a word Raja, I need to be myself now, I should never have attended the party, I am so killing Simon.” I placed my leg on the jar of the car to increase my speed.

I finally got home, I came down from the car barging Into the house without answering the maids or anyone greetings.

I feel my mom noticed I was angry, she knows me so well and can easily read me like the back of her palm.

“Lorde.” She called using her wolf strength to open my locked door.

“Mom, I wish to be alone,” I said to her.

“There is no way I am doing that, the packs around are worried seeing their alpha coming in with such a scary mood, talk to me son.”

“I said I want to be alone.” My eyes turned red.

My mom’s eyes turned blue as well then she said, “Don’t you dare use your alpha voice on me again, I am still the Luna and I gave birth to you.” I had no option but to calm myself and later explained everything to her.

“You know what son?” She caressed my hair.

“What mom? You want to mock me before she rejected me?”

“I don’t think she rejected you, she danced with you, come on, maybe she was just nervous or something, do not let people conclude on your mate for you, I remember when I met your father at a ball, I was so nervous that I had to run away from the bar.”

“Really mom? So what is your advice now?”

“Return to the Blue Moon Pack and find her tonight, make sure you only leave with her by your side.”
