KING MICAH: World Beyond The Ruins

Chapter 11

Fallon and I pulled away from each other as the door opened. I turned around with wide eyes, my heart beating down fast in my chest.

“I’m naked!” I shouted to whoever was there and the door paused.

“I just came to check up on you” the person said and I recognized the voice from yesterday to be Beta Kyles.

“I’m fine” I said breathlessly then cleared my throat and repeated the words.

He hesitated, his shadow shining into this room and his grip still on the door.

“Okay.” He finally said before slowing closing the door behind him. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .

I knew that Beta Kyle hesitated because of what happened yesterday. He practically saw me naked and I’m sure he wouldn’t do it again unless he wishes to loose his head.

Both Fallon and I released a sigh of relief at the same time. I pushed my back to the wall and closed my eyes trying to calm my racing heart.

I do hope Beta Kyle couldn’t smell our arousal or else that would be the end of me – or rather, Fallon and I could not afford that.

Not that I am in love with Fallon or anything, I only care for her as a friend and i am also sexually attracted to her and want to explore everything that I couldn’t do when I was still in the ruins.

“I just go” Fallon whispered shakily and I snapped my eyes open to see her staring at the door warrelying. I looked at her features for a few seconds before releasing a sigh.

“Okay” I also whispered back, then worry my bottom lip with my teeth. I’m a little bit scared that she might regret what has happened between us.

She moved to the edge of the pool to where her discarded clothes are and got out of the pool. I couldn’t help it as my eyes roamed her naked body before it gets covered up by her clothes.

She turned to look at me expectantly and I laughed softly before getting out of the warm water and covering up my bits with the towel Fallon passed to me.

God, I didn’t want to leave the pool as it felt so good against my sore flesh.

We both entered the room with our hair clinging to skin and Fallon had wet patches on her yellow gown.

I fold my arms under my chest as she turns around to look at me. She bite her lips nervously before giving me a smile, a smile that promises that this won’t be the end before hurrying out the room.

When the door closed, I released the breath I never knew I was holding and placed my hand on my chest.

I stared at the door for a few seconds then looked around and saw the food that sat on the coffee table which was already cold by now.

I knew that what I am doing with Fallon is wrong on so many levels – not because I am with a woman, but because I knew that I am hurting Micah.

He doesn’t deserve someone like me but at the same time, I still want him to want me.

God, I’m a fucked up person.

I entered the walk in closet and dropped the towel on floor then picked out a white sweatshirt and a black skirt. I once again take the towel from the floor and ran it through my hair, absolving the wetness from it and ran my fingers through the red locks to untangle it.

I didn’t bother looking at myself in the mirror and when I walked ouy of the closet, I glance at the pile of meat in the plate for a moment before deciding to just leave it as it is since I wasn’t really hungry.

I know it’s bad to waste food and I feel bad about it knowing there are thousands of humans who go hungry everyday… I use to be one of them but I just don’t think I can stomach anything.

Moving to where I dropped the black boots I wore yesterday next to the door, I slide them on and pushed the door open.

I walked down the hallway, passing a few servants and guards who greeted me with their head bow. Within the few days that I have spent in the castle, words about the King’s human mate had spread and almost everyone knows about me.

I put a halt to my steps when a door caught my attention. The door looks almost similar to one of my favorite places in the ruins. I sauntered towards it, looking left and right like I was afraid to be caught sneaking into a secret place.

The door creaked as I pushed it open and I cringed at the sound. It felt like my presence was interrupting this place as it looked like a place no one had ever visited… Untouched.

Oh what a shame.

As the door closed, the fireplace instantly lights up and I jumped back in fright, my back pressed to the door.

I stayed pressed to the door for a few seconds before shaking my head and with a chuckle, moved deeper I to the room.

The castle library was a lot bigger than I had actually expected it to be.

Although is was bigger and fancier in comparison to the one in the ruins, I felt disappointed while staring at it. My eyes sweeping each shelves filled with just a few books.

The fireplace was situated to the wall on my right and in front of it sat a center table with two black sofas around the piece of furniture.

I didn’t bother going to the sofa as I had already spotted the large window at the back of the shelves. I sauntered deeper into the room, taking my time to look at each books and finding the one that would catch my interest.

A large book covered in dust finally caught my interest and I quickly walked towards it.

I blew away the dust on it and ran my palm over the hardcover.

“Encyclopedia on mythical Creatures” I said aloud as I read the title that was written stylishly.

I walked over to the large window that would block the views of others from me yet giving me a perfect view of anybody that would come in.

With a huff, I raised myself up and placed my bum on the cold stone and dropped the book on my lap.
