Chapter 252 More Harm Than Good (Part Two)
Chapter 252 More Harm Than Good (Part Two)
"Dad, there was a woman outside who claimed she's pregnant with your kid, is it true?" Justin spat out
his question quickly. 'He asked for it, ' he thought. 'If he admits it, I will stop calling him dad and pack up
and go back to the military base. He can live with that tramp. Mom and I will not love a guy like that.'
Justin thought.
"Who are you talking about?" Edward asked doubtfully. He didn't realize that the woman mentioned by This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
Justin was Jessica.
"Her name is Jessica, that evil hag! Don't tell me that you don't know her. She said she is pregnant with
your child. So this is what you've been hiding all along. You cheated on us," said Justin with grief
choking him. He felt very sad. 'I've tried so hard to bring my mom and dad together. But why did this
woman suddenly appear? I drove her away long ago!' Justin thought.
"Haha!" Rain couldn't help but laugh. The little boy was mature beyond his age. He knew so many
things. 'Does he know what cheating on someone means? He surely didn't think before he said this, '
Rain thought.
"What? Did you see her?" asked Edward with a frown. He didn't plan to let Justin know about this. It
was not a good thing -- he didn't want to hear that Jessica had said anything to his kid. Everything was
not going according to plan. He couldn't put all the pieces in the right place perfectly. Now he hurt both
of the people he loved most.
"Dad, so it's real? Then I won't forgive you. And mom will leave you," Justin said, staring angrily at the
handsome man sitting in the chair. His face was full of sadness, and tears ran down his cheeks.
"No. I only have you and your mom. Other women or their children have nothing to do with me," said
Edward while rising from his chair. He walked to Justin's side and gathered him into his arms.
"Dad, really? Promise me. Promise me that pregnant woman has nothing to do with you," Justin said,
raising his head. He didn't want to share his dad and his mom with anyone. They only belonged to him.
He was hoping so hard that a family of three could live together happily. And that was not too much to
ask, Justin thought.
"Okay. I promise that except for you, I have no children. Other kids have nothing to do with me. Jessica
is pregnant, but the baby in her belly is not mine. Can you believe me, sweetheart?" asked Edward.
Edward reached out his hand to wipe the tears on Justin's face. He looked into Justin's eyes and
thought, 'I was wise to get a vasectomy shortly after I got married. Otherwise I couldn't be sure. I
couldn't make good on that promise.'
"Okay. I will believe whatever you say. You're my dad. But you must convince mom to believe you,"
said Justin. He knew about Daisy's temperament. She didn't like to be cheated on. So if she knew that
Edward lied to her in this matter, she would chop him up and feed him to the dogs at the military base,
Justin thought.
"Rest assured. I will explain it to your mom later," said Edward. But he didn't know that someone would
seize his chance and tell her the news before he could say anything. And this news troubled Daisy
deeply again.
On the base at H City, Daisy gazed at the screen and checked the data on it carefully. Her face
exhibited a cold look. She seemed a little vexed, though. 'It seems that my projections aren't accurate.
If I want to win in this military exercise, it will depend on the soldiers' on-the-spot performance and a
little luck, ' she thought.
"Colonel, what should we do now?" all the technical specialists turned to her and asked. They worked
out this strategy carefully with the Colonel. Now there were errors in the data, they would fail the
military exercise. The enemy could easily take advantage of this and monitor their actions.
"Don't panic. Notify the armored brigade to change the battle plan for the next stage. Then let the
artillery regiment replace the armored brigade's current position. The enemy will immediately notice
this. But what we do is to secretly transfer the infantry battalion to the place where the enemy isn't
looking. Change the objective of recon company, too. Don't focus on the enemy troops, we're just going
to shake things up here and make decisions from the latest data, ' said Daisy.
She looked cool and lively in her uniform. She gazed firmly at the solders who were moving quickly
under her orders. There was finally a trace of delight in her eyes. She was not sure whether her plan
would work, because the enemy troops were under Kevin's command.
She picked up the glass of water on the desk and took a drink. She felt very excited now. At this
moment, there was no Edward or Justin on her mind. The military exercise occupied all her thoughts.
This was the only place where she felt she belonged. She always enjoyed military exercises which
required extra wisdom to deal with unexpected situations. Because only in this case could she totally
forget the man she deeply loved. Then she wouldn't feel heartbroken.
"Colonel, you see? It works. But the enemy changes their strategy accordingly," the technicians said
and looked at Daisy again. They felt that the enemy seemed to know their plan and they were
constantly changing their strategies. Now they felt they were on the receiving end of the play. They
marveled at the great wisdom showed by the enemy's commander.
"Oh! Really! The Major General has apparently put a lot of hard work into this military exercise," said
Daisy. She felt more excited now. There was a playful smile on her face, which was rare to see. The
stronger the enemy was, the more likely it was to bring out the best in her. So she decided to take on
the challenge. But she was not sure whether or not this would work.
