Chapter 245 My Wife And Justin's Mother (Part Two)
Chapter 245 My Wife And Justin's Mother (Part Two)
"Mother, you might want to have some tea. I'm afraid you're embarrassing Mr. Qin too much with your
questions." Mary wanted to disappear at this moment. What's wrong with her mother? She was
supposed to please Edward, not some nobody like Tom!
"I'm sorry, Mr. Qin. I hope you don't mind. This is typical of my mother. She's interested in everything."
Yakira stopped trying to chat with Tom as her daughter wished. There was no need for it anymore,
since she already got what she wanted.
"That's alright." In truth, seeing Yakira's heavily-clad face up close made Tom lose his appetite. He
wouldn't have come here if he had known that Yakira would be present.
"Edward, can I go to your company tomorrow? I still have a lot to learn." Mary looked at Edward
beseechingly. The more Mary got to know him, the more she fell for him. Edward was like a god to her,
someone she had set as her life's ultimate goal.
"You're already familiar with all of my company's business. I don't think there's any more for you to
learn." Edward said with a frown. Although he was getting irritated, he didn't show it.
"Mr. Mu. I really hate to bother you. But Mary is a little bit silly, she needs more time to learn everything.
It would be nice if you could give her a chance. Yakira hurried to say as soon as she heard Edward's
rejection. She knew that Mary couldn't handle the situation and would lose her chance.
"Silly? I don't think so. She's pretty brilliant in some ways." Edward said with a cold smile. Could a silly
person rob someone of biological father? Could a silly person drive someone out of home? But
compared to her calculating mother, you could describe Mary as someone silly.
"Edward, thank you. It's so nice of you to say so." Mary completely missed the sarcasm in Edward's
words. She was ecstatic to hear Edward's praise.
Tom spat out some red wine when he heard Mary's response. He couldn't help his laughter. Luckily, he
didn't splash on anyone this time.
"I'm so sorry. I just choked on some wine. Go on." Tom apologized in embarrassment. Was this Mary
really so stupid as to miss the obvious sarcasm in Edward's voice? Or was she feigning ignorance? Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
"Mr. Mu, what do you think about Mary? She's beautiful, isn't she?" Yakira gritted her teeth. Unlike her
oblivious daughter, she picked up on his sarcasm. But sometimes, people would rather be stupid than
face the ugly truth.
"Sorry, Mrs. Ouyang. I never notice that." Actually, Edward never looked at Mary's face since the
awkward conversation began. Before, he had to be nice to Mary, because he thought that she was one
of his in-laws. Things had changed after he found out that she's Daisy's stepsister.
An anguished look appeared on Yakira's face at Edward's words. It seemed that Edward was difficult to
deal with. She couldn't take the plan of marrying her daughter to Edward lightly.
"It doesn't matter. Since you two get along with each other, you have a lot of time to get to know her."
Yakira ignored Edward's harsh tone. She's always been good at pretending to be innocent and naive.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to drive Daisy and her mother out of their home. Yakira didn't
expect Daisy's mother to lose her mind after being driven out. After jaywalking on the road, she died in
an accident.
"Sorry, Mrs Ouyang. You're mistaken. There's no need for me to get to know Miss Ouyang. Besides,
I'm a married man. It's inappropriate for me to get close to other women. I think you've already met my
wife. She gets jealous easily."
Edward said with a wicked smile. This was the first time that he mentioned Daisy to Mary. He looked
forward to seeing her response.
"Edward, who's your wife? Do you mean Daisy? Or Justin's mother?" Mary was confused. She heard
Edward talking to Daisy warmly over the phone, indicating their close relationship. But what about
Justin's mother? Edward loved his son a lot. Didn't this mean that Justin's mother was very special to
Edward? The thought of Justin made Mary flare up. She hated him so much, she was determined to
teach him a lesson. Then, he would become a well-behaved child and wouldn't make a fool of her
anymore.
"What? I thought you already knew. Daisy is my wife and Justin's mother. You're her family. How could
you know nothing about it? Does that mean that you are not in touch with her? Is that why you have no
knowledge of her affairs?"
Edward narrowed his eyes at them as he fiddled with the glass in his hand. He looked forward to
seeing their response.
"What? I heard that you stopped seeing her after your wedding. How could she get pregnant and give
birth to Justin?" Mary panicked. The idea that Daisy was her biggest rival was just confirmed. She'd
married to the man Mary was in love with, and the little devil that Mary hated so much was her son.
Mary determined to make Daisy pay for it.
"Wow, it seems that Miss Ouyang has looked into us." Edward said with sharp eyes. Mary shuddered
under his gaze.
"Mr. Mu, don't get us wrong. Mary is an innocent girl. She couldn't do anything like that. It's just
hearsay. But I do care for Daisy and want to know how she is. She never comes back home after she
got married. Maybe she thinks we're beneath her, the well-known Mrs. Mu. And she wants to break
things off with her family."
Yakira said with a heavy sigh, as if the thought of Daisy looking down on them depressed her a lot.
"Mrs. Ouyang, do you really see Daisy as your daughter? I was told that you drove her out of her
home. It doesn't seem like she has any family left." Edward didn't plan on losing his temper. But he
couldn't help bursting into anger at Yakira's words.
"How could I? You have no idea how much her father misses her. He always talks about her. We
haven't heard from her since she got married. We worry about her a lot." Yakira was unhappy to see
Edward standing up for Daisy. She heard that Edward didn't like his wife at all. Why was he defending
Daisy? Did she get the wrong information?
"You're worried about her? That's funny. I've seen Mr. Ouyang a lot of times, and he never mentioned
my wife. How could you say that he misses her a lot? Would a father treat his beloved daughter that
way?" Edward said harshly. The pleasant afternoon had been completely ruined by the intrusion of this
calculating mother and her silly daughter.
Yakira was at a loss for words at Edward's accusation. Since she wasn't present when Edward met her
husband, she didn't know how to stand up for him.
