Chloe had no recollection of the things that Zoelle mentioned, and she only had a vague memory of Zoelle. She could not even remember how they knew each other.

Zoelle's frown deepened. Something did not seem right to her, but Chloe's reaction did not appear feigned. Not only had Chloe forgotten about her, but she also displayed such indifference toward Joseph. He was her ex-husband, after all. Even mockery would be better than this lukewarm attitude.

Chloe soon pushed the things Zoelle said to the back of her mind. In fact, she found it quite puzzling. When she arrived at Exotic Star, she reviewed the recent sales data and then held a meeting with her department staff. At noon, she grabbed some takeaway for lunch and went to look for Noah.

His secretary looked surprised and said, "Oh, Mr. Noah didn't come to the office today. Don’t you know?"

Finding a quiet spot, Chloe put down the takeaway and called Noah.

"What's up, Coco?"

The warm and gentle voice of the young man came through the phone, accompanied by background noises as if he were in an open space where the wind was blowing loudly.

"Where are you?"

Noah paused for a moment before replying, "I'm at the airport. I just got off the plane. I'm heading out on a business trip today and will be back tonight."

"Why didn't you tell me about this?"

"You hadn't woken up yet, and I didn't want to disturb you. Besides, it's just a day trip. What's wrong, Coco?" Noah asked gently, "Is someone causing trouble for you at the company?"

"No, everything’s fine. Go ahead and take care of your work."

"Okay, see you tonight."

"Oh, by the way, which city are you in for your business trip?"

"Fennelville."

At Docwood Airport, Lucas pushed a wheelchair and escorted Vanya to the boarding gate. He took out a recorder and asked, "Shall we start now?"

Taking a deep breath, Vanya said, "Okay. Let's get started."

They had reached this point, and it was impossible for Joseph to deceive her any longer. It was time for her to fulfill her promise.

Lucas glanced at the time and turned on the recorder.

"I didn't lie. Joseph and Chloe's child did not die. He's been alive all this time and he's doing well," Vanya said.

Lucas suppressed his excitement and asked, "Where’s the child now?"

"Right in the Whitman family home," Vanya replied with a complex expression.

Lucas could not quite grasp the situation and became a bit confused. "Explain clearly. Don't beat around the bush."

"Jasper Whitman is Chloe and Joseph's child," Vanya continued, "Xavia's pregnancy was real, but she swapped the kids."

Lucas felt like his brain cells had been zapped by lightning. He stood stunned for a moment, gazing at the clouds that stretched endlessly across the sky. Then, he slapped himself hard.
