The fact that Nichole is in this house and she moves about as if she owns the place irks me but what can I do? She is more than welcome here by her best friend.
I checked the clock and it was past noon. I decided it go for my doctor’s appointment and then go see my mom and then I can go get some things for myself before I go back home.
I go downstairs and I see that Liliana not Pat is on kitchen duty today.
“Liliana I’m heading out,” I say as I enter the kitchen. She turns to face me and smiles when she sees me.
“Okay what do you want me to prepare for dinner?” she asked politely.
“Some sushi for Noah and Nichole,” I say and she nods. “And a little soup for me,” I say and she just takes notes.
“I will prepare that,” she says.
“I will try to be back before dinner time,” I say and she just nods.
“What of your lunch?” she asked me.
“I’m going to see my mom so I will have lunch there,” I say and she just gives me a sad smile. She knows that Nichole’s presence irritates the hell out of me.
“Okay ma’am,” she said.
“But I will have my lunch now” Nichole’s annoying voice rang through the air as I saw her stand there. Must I encounter her every single day even though I try my possible best to avoid her?
“I haven’t prepared any lunch as Mrs. Lorraine isn’t having any” Liliana said trying to piss her off.
“So what will I have?” she asked like a child who was denied ice cream. She had really been on another level since she started to stay here. It was like she wanted to take over the house. Somehow I worried but on the other hand, it did not matter considering the way Noah was treating me.
“You can go out and get yourself some lunch,” I say and she frowns. She doesn’t look too happy at the fact that I could talk to her.
“I don’t think Noah will like to hear that I asked for lunch and I was denied,” she said sounding like that was her only hope. She had been playing that card for a whole week now. It’s getting on my nerves that she thinks she can use the kindness of Noah to work against me.
“Then go ahead and call him now,” I say a new confidence boost rising through my veins.
She looked stunned because most times I just give in I never object to what she usually did but now I have my reservations about her.
“Isn’t your apartment done?” I ask her and she looks too shocked to answer. “Answer me,” I say and she looks away.
“It will be done in a few days,” she said.
“You don’t walk this place as if it is yours. Do you need lunch? Then go out and get some for yourself or you cook some by yourself. The kitchen is always open for you to make your own meals.” I tell her with a triumphant smile on my face.
I wonder why I had been indulging her all these days. I turn to Liliana and say “Get Noah’s food ready on time” I say before going out of the house.
I told Joshua to drive me to my appointment. My doctor tells me that everything is in good shape. I just need more vegetables because I have a low blood level. I go see my mom. I need her advice on what is presently happening to me.
She doesn’t know yet that Nichole is staying at Noah’s house.
“So his ex is currently living with you in the same house as your husband?” my mom asked when I told her everything.
“You got the gist,” I say and she shakes her head. “She walks the place as if she owns it and she makes claims on Noah like she is the one married to him” I explained bitterly to my mom.
“And what is Noah’s reaction to her?” she asked.
“I don’t know. As much as possible I avoid them both” I say bad my mom screamed to me.
“You can’t do that. You have to be around Noah and make sure her motives aren’t carried out. She is jealous of you so this is her easy way to put discord between you. Park back into your room with Noah even though you don’t want to. Stay with him and stick to him” she advised.
“No matter what don’t allow her to make you lose your hold on your husband,” she said and I felt better after talking to my mom. We spoke about other things and we had a good time. It’s been a week since we came back from.
When I walk in Noah and Nichole are by the table eating dinner and she is sitting opposite him. They were laughing at something she was saying. How can they still be cool with each other? She hurt him and went ahead to date his friend. That is because he loves her so much my mind told me and I sighed. I walked in and Liliana sighted me.
“You are back Mrs. Lorraine?” she asked me wiping her hand on the towel in her other hand. “I will send your food up for you,” she said and I shook my head.
“I will have dinner here with my husband and his best friend,” I say and suddenly Nichole doesn’t look too happy.
“Okay ma’am,” Liliana said and turned to go bring my dinner.
“How is the sushi?” I asked Noah and Nichole decided that I asked her.
“I don’t usually do this but it tastes so marvelous,” she said and I internally rolled my eyes.
“Noah, how is the sushi?” I ask again not paying attention to the speaking ex.
“Fine,” he said answering in monotone.
“So I was thinking we could do baby shopping this weekend” I suggest trying to allow Noah to talk to me.
“Do you know the sex of the baby?” Nichole asked again.
“It’s too early to know now” I answer her even though I didn’t give a damn about her but maybe if Noah sees that I’m tolerating Nichole he could talk to me finally.
“O so isn’t it too early to start buying baby things?” she asked and I just wanted to facepalm.
“We have a lot of things to buy. Things that aren’t gender selective” I explain and she just nods.
When Liliana set my food before me I was no longer in the mood to talk to Noah because so far I haven’t been able to get anything out of him. And these hormones are messing with my mind. One moment I’m happy and the next I don’t feel like doing anything but crying. And the last thing I want is for Nichole to see me cry.
“I’m going to be an aunty soon” Nichole cooed to herself and I just could not stand her. Soon my soul was so bland in my mouth. “I will be called aunty Coco and that is where my limits can go.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.
“I’m tired I will go in first,” I say stretching for effects.
“Good night,” Nichole said in an overly chipping voice.
“Good night,” I say before pushing myself out of the room to the master bedroom. Even though I can’t really stand Noah. I will give Nichole nothing to gain grounds on. I will stay here even though I feel sad about myself.
I’m doing this so my baby can have a good life and experience a happy family. Only for my
