Today was the day when all of us related will meet here and talk about my engagement to Noah Lorraine.

The Lancasters, Forests, Gates, Lockhart’s, James’s, Knight’s, Woodley’s, Dilton’s, Marshall’s and the Hills will all be there. We aren’t all directly related but we are tied either by business or pleasure and so we have become a big family.

“I see a big rock on your finger,” Cara Lancaster (my cousin) said when she saw it.Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

“Cara,” I said hugging her.

“You are touchy” she commented at my happiness to see her. Leah Woodley (my other cousin) was trying to catch up with me but Joseph Gates (the new boy she had been seeing) wouldn’t let her go.

Ana was seen talking to Nicholas Forest( my other cousin). Ana was married to Nick and it already seemed as if she was showing a little baby bump.

Lola Forest (Nick’s sister), Lila Hills (Ana’s cousin) Anita Hills, and Anika Hills (Ana’s sisters) we’re all chatting together.

Adams Hills (Ana’s brother) and Debby Knight (Ana’s best friend and Adams’ wife) are walking. Adams was trying hard to support his pregnant wife.

Eileen Marshall and Jacob Gates too just arrived with Claudia who was trying to piss her sister off by tagging along.

Jade Knight arrived with Resse James and Tess James.

The last to arrive was Mr and Mrs. Mark and Riley Lockhart. All the elders of the family were here. Katy too was here.

Harper Dilton and her cousins Cynthia and Travis Dilton also came.

My parents, Noah’s mom Emila, Aunty Sharlene Woodley and her husband David Woodley (Leah’s parents), Aunty Adriana and her husband Elias Lancaster(Aaron and Cara’s parents), Aunty Cynthia and uncle Luis Forest(Nick and Lola’s parents), Uncle Shawn Forest and aunty Freida(James parents), Aunty Ciara and uncle Diego Hills(Adams Ana Anika and Anita’s parents), Aunty Sarah Lockhart (widowed and Mark’s mom). Aunty Olivia and Uncle Johann Gates(Jacob and Joseph’s parents), Aunty Gabby Hills(Lila’s mom), Aunty Jackie Dilton(Cynthia and Travis’s mom), Aunty Ellen and Uncle Kevin James(Resse and Tess’s parents), Aunty Brenda and uncle Luca Knight(Debby and Jade’s parents), Uncle Ricky and aunty Maggie Marshall(Claudia and Eileen’s parents) They were all here. I can’t believe it. I felt like hugging each and every one of them.

“Welcome everyone,” my dad said catching the attention of everyone in the room. “Good evening and welcome to this party” he continued.

“And we are here because?” Uncle Shawn asked. He always tried to behave younger than his age.

“I will tell you that soon enough Shawn” my dad responded. “But before that let everyone get a glass of champagne we are going to make a toast,” he said. I signaled the server to give me just a soda water and he did, pouring it in a glass.

“We are toasting to the engagement of my daughter Rachael to Noah Lorraine,” my dad said clinking his cup with my smiley faced mom and a fake smiley face Emila.

Every single person was shocked that no one clinked cups and no one drank.

“Wow, everyone is shocked” Noah whispered to me.

“I can see that” I whisper back.

“Tell us this is some kind of joke,” Aunty Gabby said when no one blinked or moved.

“Why will this be a joke?” my mom asked back. “This is serious” she defended.

“We are really happy for you Rachael it’s just that we thought you’d never meet the right person,” Aunty Sharlene said. Soon everyone was congratulating me. My group of friends were telling me that we would talk about this later.

“Rach,” Nick said giving me a hug. “You finally listened to Ana, she was really worried about you,” he told me. He then turned to Noah and gave him a smile. “Hey Noah nice to meet you,” he said.

Noah shook his hands. “The ladies will soon gather and try to get information about you guys from her since we don’t do that we can go over there and plan your bachelor’s party,” Nick told him.

“Really?” Noah asked obviously surprised by Nick’s kindness.

“Yes, you are marrying her you become part of the family,” Nick said tapping his shoulders.

“Okay sweets I will be over there with the guys,” Noah said facing me.

“No problem. I will go face the girls now” I say. He nods and walks away. I walk towards the girls.

“Hey guys,” I say as I approach them.

“Still girls,” Cara said and we all turned to her and rolled our eyes.

“Hey girls” I correct and she smiles at me.

“So is that the one night stand guy?” Claudia asked me with a smirk.

“Yeah?” I answer in a question form.

“He is hot” Anika responded to me and gave me a look.

“So you love him?” Debby asked resting on the table to support herself.

“No” I answer and they all look at me like I have grown two heads.

“Then remind me the reason you are marrying him?” Cynthia asked and I looked at her.

“Because I’m pregnant” I whisper.

“What?!” fourteen female voices reached my ears. I look around to find the hurdles of people passing us questioning glances.

“So you mean you are marrying because you are pregnant?” Leah cried in hushed whispers.

“Yes,” I say wide eyed.

“You are living right out of a story book,” Harper said and I looked at her.

“Haps just because you are an actress doesn’t make everything fictional” Eileen scolded and Harper rolled her eyes partly at the nickname and also at the comment.

“I’m jealous of you,” Jade said and I turned to face her. “If Devon could just stop games and ask me to marry him then I would be happier,” she said clearing our doubt.

“It’s not all about saving your reputation because I know the only reason you agreed to this wedding is because you want to be a perfect example for the girls in public,” Resse said.

“But are you really happy?” Tess asked asking exactly what her sister wanted to ask and getting on her nerves. I know because Resse gave her a death look

“I’m not exactly happy but I’m not regretting my decision,” I told them.

“That’s good then,” Lila said before adding “When is the wedding?”

And that right there is the big question
