Chapter 26

Lottie’s POV

I found myself wandering the quiet streets, still not familiar with most of the area.

All I knew was, that for whatever reason, I was seriously hurting inside.

Hurt that Alex kissed Tiffany of all people right in–front of me…

I cursed myself for feeling this way, especially since I knew that Alex was never really interested in me. Sure the fact that he kissed me on

Friday and overreacted the way he did on Saturday were both odd, but that didn’t mean that he cared for me…

I was more angry at myself for letting him see my insecurities!

He of all people now knew about my damn scars!

He of all people witnessed me having a total panic attack at the party!

Not to mention that I also fell asleep in a bedroom with him!

I use the palm of my hand to furiously rub my wet cheeks.

All I seem to do is cry! The slightest little thing and I cry! I’m such a wimp!

I get more frustrated at myself, seeming to always find myself upset and at the butt of peoples jokes. That’s all I am to him – a joke!

I turn down another street, as cars pass me by every so often as I walk further… I couldn’t attempt to make it to Anna’s from wherever I was even if I tried! I thought I had been walking the correct way but it turns out that I’m very much lost!

I don’t recognise any of these houses or streets! So with that, I turn on my heels and begin to walk back the way I came…

Of all people why Tiffany? Not to mention he made direct eye contact with me before he kissed her! He knew damn well what he was doing!

A tear falls down my cheek again as I reach a main road.

Ok now left or right?

I glance in both directions, confused of how I had gotten so lost, before a car turns onto the street and approaches me slowly… This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

Here I go probably getting kidnapped now!

Just my luck…

Although with that thought, I don’t even make an attempt to run or hide, I just stand there helpless and defeated. The car slows to a halt, as I squint my eyes at the tinted windows – recognising the vehicle…

The window suddenly lowers, revealing the one and only Del – looking somewhat relived to see me?

“F**king hell you had us all worried!” He scolds me, as I step back from the car and furrow my brows at him.

Why is he even out looking for me? Maybe Anna forced them to help find me? She’s the only one who would probably care about where i

am!

“Lottie get in the car its getting cold.” Del sighs, offering me a pitiful look next.

For the first time tonight, I begin to actually notice how cold the night had gotten, remembering that I was still only in my cheer skirt and top from the game.

“Please? Just get in the car and I’ll take you home.” Del pushes, as he gestures with his hand for me to get in, causing my mind to race…

Maybe they are pissed off that I made a scene at their first game and want to hurt me? Is that why they want to find me so bad?

I seem to take another step back, unsure of what to do, as Del offers me a confused look.

“I haven’t known you for long but I thought we were at least considered friends by now? You don’t have to be nervous I’ll only drop you. home.” Dels voice softens, as he tests the waters unsure of why I was acting so odd around him.

By the look on his face, I instantly regret the way I was acting, as I hold my hands up to explain-

“It’s not… your fault… I’m just… it’s me.” I find my voice saying, feeling guilty for treating him like a random mass murderer trying to pick me up off the street.

Maybe he was actually a friend?

He’s done nothing but be kind to me since we met. He’s probably the least intimidating of the three boys too, yet here I was acting like some attention seeking victim!

“Come on its ok I get it…” Del leans back in his seat, staring at me for my next move, as I find my feet instinctively moving towards his

car.

I decide to take the chance, having no reason yet as to not trust him.

At least it wasn’t Alex that pulled up and found me…

I sit in the passenger seat, having never been in his fancy car until now, as I watch him turn on the heated seat function – offering me a smile.

“I better phone Anna and let her know that I found you… she’s been freaking out.” Del begins to say, as I sigh and sink further into the

warm seat.

I felt terrible for running from her… she probably thought that I had just left town… but I was far too overwhelmed to even concentrate on anything so I just ran.

“Del?!” Anna’s voice fills the car as she answers his call, causing me to chew my nail.

“I found her, we will be at yours in fifteen, she’s ok.” Del explains, as I hear her sigh through the call.

“Thank god! I was worried sick! I’ll meet you at mine.” Anna rushes, as he says a quick goodbye and ends the call briefly.

“You did have us all worried you know?” Del glances at me as he drives.

“I didn’t mean to… I just… I don’t know what happened!” I groan, annoyed with my actions and for having them run around looking for

me like some child.

“We get it… Alex was a dick!” Del hits the bullseye with his sentence, as my eyes widen at the truth in his statement.

“But I think he knows that himself now.” He adds quickly, with a short laugh as I squint over at him.

“W–What?” I find myself asking, interested in what he could mean.

Del shakes his head, before stopping at a red light and turning to me slightly.

can

“He f**king likes you more than he will admit and I know it! He’s just the worst at showing it! I mean not to defend him right? But I confirm that he absolutely hates Tiffany… so why he would ever do what he done tonight is beyond me!” Del rants about Alex, as I shake my head at his words.

No…

“He seemed to like her enough to want to suck her face off after the game!” I find my emotions getting the better of me, as the words leave my lips before I can stop them.

“Know what I think?” Del asks, as the light turns green and he begins to drive again.

“What?” I ask, folding my arms and feeling suddenly embarrassed.

“He kissed her to make you jealous… dick move I know… but I honestly do think that’s why he done it!” Del confirms with a nod to himself, as the streets begin to become more familiar again.

“No way.” I state, as he laughs slightly.

“He does… trust me!” He adds, as Lkeep my gaze trained on the passing streets out of the window.

There is no way he kissed her just to make me jealous! He doesn’t care enough to do that! He kissed her because he clearly likes Tiffany now! He’s obviously just some player and that’s why he kissed me on Friday too!

“I don’t believe that for a second.” I sigh, feeling drained from the whole of tonight’s events, before we finally turn down onto Anna’s street…

I perk up slightly, thankful to be back somewhere familiar after my meltdown, before we approach her house and slow down-

“Why is his damn car here?!”
