Chapter 241 Break with The Lewis Family

Baron was no longer silent. The current situation was beyond Camel’s capacity. He was surrounded by

many very powerful people and was clearly out of his depth.

Edward also turned around, and then he recognized Baron at once! Immediately, he went very pale,

and could not stop his whole body trembling. “Mr. O-Owen! Wh-what are you doing here?”

The room was jammed with people, so he hadn’t noticed Baron first. But when he saw Baron, he was

afraid.

Edward knew well about Baron’s background. When Baron returned to Cona from Pola, Edward

accompanied the Owen family’s housekeeper Steward, to pick him up at the airport. The Owen family

But someone was faster than him. Before Ryan reached Baron, he was kicked away by Camel’s

bodyguards.

Susan looked confused. She still couldn’t figure out why her father looked very frightened of Baron. In

fact, not just Susan, others were confused too.

Edward went straight to Baron and said reverently, “I’m sorry, Mr. Owen! I didn’t see you.”

Baron glanced at him and said, “You honor me, Mr. Lewis! I’m a nobody but you are the richest man in

Cona!”

Baron sneered, “Are you sure? But just a moment ago, you asked Susan to sell me out.”

Edward was horrorstruck and turned pale. “You…you are the young man with Susan last night?” he

said in a trembling voice.

“That’s right, Dad! The truth is I was with Baron last night,” said Susan’s voice.

Edward stood frozen and was immersed in thought. He finally understood why so many powerful men

gathered here! Baron was their target!

Edward realized that he did a mistake. He took Tom’s side a moment ago! At this thought his face was

ghostly white, and shook from head to foot. Baron could have been a leader of the Owen family, if he’d

so chosen. Edward couldn’t afford to offend him.

Wiping away his cold sweat, Edward tried to right the wrongs of the past. He cleared his throat and

said, “Anyone wants to take away Mr. Owen, you’re going to have to go through me.” At these words,

he stood beside Baron.

“What do you mean, Edward?” Tom asked, frowning.

“We’ve been friends for years, Mr. Maguire! You have no proof of that. So, you need to leave here at

once, before it’s too late,” Edward said calmly.

“Is this some kind of threat?” stormed Tom. He could not understand why Edward’s attitude changed. It

didn’t even occur to him that what Edward said was with good intentions.

Edward sighed very deeply. He couldn’t do anything about it, because he should keep Baron’s true

identity secret. He realized that Tom was doomed.

“It’s not a threat, Mr. Maguire. But anyone who tries to offend Mr. Owen, he will be the Lewis family’s

enemy!” Edward said firmly.

Everyone was shocked to looked at him. How was this possible? They thought Baron was nothing but

a son-in-law of the Perry family. Why did Edward break with the Maguire family for him? Was he worth

it?

Tom was confused too. He and Edward were friends for years, but at this time, they were on opposing

sides just for Baron.

Martin sat quietly and was deep in thought. His survey showed that Baron had been a member of the

Owen family, but he had been driven out of the family many years ago. But judging by Edward’s

“It depends on you.” Edward said in a more forceful tone.
