Chapter 147 You’re My Brother Now

Chapter 147 You’re My Brother Now

Jerome didn’t dare stand in his way. He nodded hurriedly, making incoherent sounds.

Back then when Baron had slammed his face into the tea table, his nose had collapsed and he’d

chipped several teeth.

His face was swollen too much to speak.

Only then did Baron walk off, stopping at the doorway. “I’ll give you one night to consider. I’ll be waiting

at the Domom SPA tomorrow before ten!”

With that, Baron left.

Jerome’s body went slack, his back drenched with cold sweat.

By the time Baron made it back to the mansion, it was dark.

“Baron, you’re back!”

Seeing him, Yuri greeted him right away.

Baron looked her over. Her expression was normal and there was life in her eyes that didn’t seem

faked. Which meant that what had happened today was well and truly over.

“Are you worried what happened in the afternoon will leave me traumatized?”

Yuri walked over and took his arm, giggling.

Baron took his arm back without a hint, smiling, “Well, looks like you’re fine!”

But the moment he extracted his arm, Yuri clung on to it again, beaming, “From this day on, Baron, I’m

going to call you my brother!”

“Huh?”

Baron started. “What do you mean by that?”

“I’ve wanted a brother since I was young. I’ve lived for over twenty years, and you’re the only person

who’s given me that brotherly feeling. So from today forward, I’m going to call you brother!”

Yuri swayed on Baron’s arm, giggling.

Seeing Yuri clinging to baron’s arm, Tracy grew a bit jealous and walked up, pulling her off. “All right.

Let’s get your brother-in-law some dinner first before we talk about something else.”

“Sis, I already told you, he’s my brother now, not just some in-law!” Yuri rolled her eyes.

Exasperated, Tracy said, “Fine, okay, he’s your brother. Now if you’d just let your big brother have his

dinner?”

“What are you blathering about?”

Sherry had jogged up out of nowhere, her face darkening as she heard the sisters’ conversation.

“I’m taking Baron as my big brother, what do you mean blathering?” Yuri said, displeased.

After Sherry had hurt her so thoroughly last time, Yuri still hadn’t forgiven her.

“Hmph!”

Sherry said coldly. “Didn’t Edward Lewis owe you one? Or else he wouldn’t have given you this

mansion.”

She didn’t know that Baron had bought the mansion himself. After last time at the Starry Garden, when

Edward had told her personally that Baron had helped out the Lewis family, she’d thought that this

mansion had been given to Baron to pay back the favor.

“Mom, Baron bought this mansion. What’s that got to do with the Lewis family?” Tracy explained.

“Five years ago, he stole five hundred thousand from your dad. How would he be able to afford this

luxurious mansion after five years of military service?” Sherry mocked.

“That’s enough out of you, Sherry!”

At that moment, a furious voice rang out from the doorway. Terry had come home from work.

“Five years ago, Baron did borrow five hundred thousand from me, but that was to save his mother. It

was just a pity that his mother passed away before he could bring the money to the hospital.”

Terry’s face was cold. “Baron gave us the money back the following day. You know that. You even

argued with me over lending that money to Baron. But the moment Baron gave us that money back,

you lent it to your niece instead. It’s been five years, and I still haven’t seen your niece give us back

that money!”

“Terry Perry, what is this nonsense?”

Sherry went on the defensive, denying everything.

Terry scoffed. “You know full well it’s not nonsense!”

After that horrific half month, Terry had completely changed.

He emanated sheer confidence now.

“It was just five hundred thousand for my niece, Terry! I stuck with you through thick and thin all those

years, so what’s the big deal? Besides, we’re husband and wife, and that money belongs to both of us.”

Sherry went right to her specialty of crying and yelling at once.

“That five hundred thousand was the dowry I saved for my daughters during my time in the office, but

you went ahead and lent it to your niece on your own without my permission.”

Terry’s eyes were red as he raged, “And how’d it end up? Your niece went right around and bought a

car with that money! Tracy was struggling with money for her company then, but did you ever pity her

instead? Did you ever think about what she went through to keep the company afloat?

“And when Tracy’s company was taken by the family and she gave birth early, you – her mother – slept

in late and only arrived at the hospital after Tracy finished giving birth. Do you even deserve to call

yourself a mother?

“When our daughters were juts getting to college, I gave you money to pay their tuition, but what’d you

do? You took the money and bought jewelry with it.

“And then…”

Terry had had enough of Sherry and exploded, airing out all the dirty laundry.

Tracy and Yuri were in tears. If Terry hadn’t said anything, they would’ve gone their whole lives without

knowing the truth.

“Shut up! Shut your mouth!”

Sherry flushed with humiliation. “That’s nonsense! Those are all lies, Terry! Are you trying to get on our

daughters’ good side now that they’ve got some ability? I’m telling you, it won’t work!” Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Terry had already had enough of Sherry’s shamelessness. Done letting out his temper, he wasn’t

willing to argue with such a woman any longer. He turned and went back inside his room.

“Tracy, Yuri, your dad made it all up. I didn’t do any of that.”

Seeing her daughters’ disappointed looks, Sherry hurried to defend herself.

Yuri laughed coldly. “You know full well whether or not Dad made any of it up!”

With that, Yuri went back to her room as well.

“Tracy, you have to believe me. Your mom’s not that kind of person!”

Sherry grabbed Tracy’s hand and made an emotional plea.

“I’m tired, Mom!”

Worn out, Tracy freed her hand from Sherry’s grip and went back to his room.

Only Baron and Sherry were left in the living room.

Baron shot a cold look at Sherry and turned to leave himself.

He believed Terry had told the truth about all of it. He could never have imagined that this woman had

done so many disgusting things.

Especially the part where Tracy was giving birth and Sherry decided to sleep in instead of going to the

hospital.

“Stop right there!”

Baron had taken a few steps out when Sherry gave a furious bark and ran up to him, tilting her hand

back to slap him. “It’s all your fault, trash!”

Whap.

Baron caught Sherry’s wrist, ice in his eyes as he said, “I’m only calling you Mom because of Tracy. But

that doesn’t mean I’ll tolerate your behavior!

“One more thing. This is my mansion. Whether I bought it, or Edward gave it to me, it’s my name on the

deed. If you still want to live here, then behave yourself! Or else I won’t mind kicking you out!”

Baron loosened his grip and walked away, then stopped after taking a few steps off.

He didn’t turn around, only said coldly, “Don’t think you can be shameless just because people tolerate

you!”

Sherry’s eyes widened as she glared disbelievingly at Baron.

Soon, the expression on her face contorted, and she said through her gnashed teeth, “You’ll

regret!”
