Chapter 9: Even if Chow Hated Her All Along
Chapter 9: Even if Chow Hated Her All Along
Vivian slowly pulled her hand out from under the quilt. She felt overwhelmed with shame and anger
from the bottom of her heart.
Was she really such a shameless person like he said she was?
Why did her heart hurt so much when she saw Chow leave with Celine in his arms?
The rain outside the window kept getting heavier and heavier. She could hear the sound of raindrops
pelting against the roof through the closed window.
The sky was dark because it was already nighttime, but the weight of the atmosphere still made her
heart feel heavy and pressured. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
Suddenly, a flash of lightning bolted across the distant horizon. Vivian subconsciously shrank under the
quilt and shivered as the thunder roared in the next instant.
"Ah!" She gasped and covered her ears with her hands. She was the most afraid of thunderstorms like
this.
Although Chow had always hated her, he would still sneak into her room whenever there was a
thunderstorm. Even if his ultimate purpose of doing that was for something else, Vivian still couldn't
help wishing that he would appear.
The thunder cracked loudly around her. Fear was seeping into her bones, and there was nothing she
could do about it.
Vivian dove under the blankets, covering herself from head to toe. She shamefully wished that Chow
was here to hold her now,
even though he had just bullied her before this.
The thunder was too terrifying. It seemed like only his embrace could comfort her.
However, she knew that he would not come today. Sister Celine was in his room now. Perhaps, he was
also holding her intimately because of the thunder.
Vivian's heart ached again as she pictured the scene in her head. She curled up on the bed and held
the quilt tightly in her hands, not daring to let go.
Crack! Rumble! Boom!
Vivian flinched and trembled at the deafening sound, incredibly near to tears.
If she had a mirror, she would definitely have been able to see her deathly pale face. But now, she
didn't even have the courage to look into the mirror.
Suddenly, Vivian felt someone pulling the quilt off her shivering body.
The familiar feeling made her raise her head immediately. When she saw the tall figure standing by the
window, she leapt into the man's arms. "Brother Chow!"
The person who lifted her blankets was none other than Chow.
However, her excitement only lasted for a second. Vivian, feeling slightly better, asked him in a whisper,
"W-Why are you here? Sister Celine will find out."
She looked past Chow at the wooden door connecting to her wardrobe.
She knew that Chow came from the interconnecting wardrobe they both shared. She must not have
heard him coming because she'd been hiding from the loud thunder under the covers.
Chow's face darkened when he heard her mention Celine. He lowered his head and grunted at Vivian,
lifting her chin up. "Why are you still so worried about her when you're shaking like a leaf?"
Vivian's lips trembled as she lowered her gaze shyly. "But, but..."
Wasn't he the one who didn't want anybody else knowing about their twisted relationship? Was the
reason for hiding their relationship not because he didn't want Sister Celine to feel hurt?
At the thought of this possibility, she shuddered violently again. She could feel the bitterness coursing
from her chest all the way to her fingertips.
Chow narrowed his eyes and suddenly pressed her down onto the bed.
"Ah, Brother Chow!" Vivian's cheeks turned a deep shade of red. She cried out in a low voice and
grabbed Chow's wrist. "Sister Celine is still there, please don't do this!"
