Chapter 284 Get Out Of My Villa (Part One)
In the morning, Cherry got a call from Selina while she was working in her office.
"Hi, Selina!" said Cherry.
"Cherry, are you in the company?" asked Selina over the phone.
"Yes, I'm in the office, " said Cherry. She knew that Selina hadn't come to work yet.
"Okay, go home earlier this afternoon to prepare for the party tonight, " said Selina.
"Okay, I understand! I'll go home earlier right after I finish work around here, " said Cherry.
Cherry thought more about the party after she finished talking to Selina and hung up the phone. She
was somehow nervous to accompany Jackson to attend it, and she had no idea how many people they
would meet there and how she would greet all of those strangers. Besides, she hated the glances the
rich ladies threw at her. She had also hated these kind of events, but she had no choice but to attend
the party tonight.
In the afternoon, when Cherry returned home, she found that she was home alone. Jackson hadn't
arrived yet, and Andrew and the Butler had gone out for a walk together.
After she went to her bedroom, Cherry took out from her wardrobe the dress and shoes that she
wanted to wear in the evening. She then sat in the room and waited for Jackson.
She sat there for a while, and after she started to get bored of so much waiting, she decided to go to
the study and read a book.
After she went into the study, Cherry saw on the shelves that there were many books aligned in order,
most of them philosophical works. She guessed that Andrew and Jackson had read all of those books,
and although she wanted to read something herself, she wasn't interested in those subjects. She
couldn't find a single magazine or casual reading book among them.
Cherry casually browsed through a few books, and after she got bored again, she moved to another
shelf.
She picked a book at random, but as soon as she opened it, she found a piece of paper inside of it.
Cherry calmly picked up the piece of paper and looked at it. Her face then suddenly changed.
The piece of paper was a bank receipt. The paper had already turned yellow and was crumbled with
traces because of its age, but she could still clearly read the transferred amount, receiver and remitter.
Andrew was the remitter, and the amount was even much bigger than the one Jackson had transferred
to Sally, which Cherry knew about. She wasn't able to gather that sum of money even if she worked
every day for her entire life.
Cherry finally looked at the most interesting item, the receiver. Although she didn't know the receiver
personally, she had already heard his name: Mond, the mysterious figure.
Cherry couldn't help but step back two steps. She couldn't believe the truth. Both Jackson and Andrew
knew Mond, and the ZM Group was surely targeting the JS Group. That meant that Jackson knew
everything, but why did he still refrain from telling her?
Cherry suddenly smiled helplessly. They had slept in the same bed every day as a couple, and she had
felt his close breath near her every day, but he was still unwilling to tell her anything about his past
affairs. What did she mean to him? Didn't he trust her? Didn't he want her to go into his world?
Cherry then heard the sound of a door opening downstairs. She rushed to put the bill back to where
she found it and then put the book in its original position. After she composed herself, she then walked
out of the study.
When Cherry was halfway down the stairs, she saw Andrew sitting in the living room with the Butler
pouring him a glass of water.
Andrew saw Cherry, and asked surprised, "Cherry, why are you home so early?"
Cherry then went to the living room, and politely replied to Andrew, "Grandpa, I just arrived. There will This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
be a party this evening, and Selina called me to get off work early today to prepare for it."
Hearing Cherry's words, Andrew remembered that there was indeed an important party later in the
evening. "Oh, I forgot all about it. Do you have everything you need, like clothes, shoes?"
Cherry nodded, and said, "Yes, don't worry."
When he saw her sitting on the Sofa, Andrew kindly said to Cherry, "That's good. Cherry, tonight just
stay with Jackson, don't mind about those who you don't want to greet, they're not worth the bother; as
for those rich ladies, you don't need to care, they're just living a rich life with no style or culture."
Andrew knew somehow in his heart that Cherry hated to attend those fake business parties. But, as
Jackson's wife, she had to appear on some occasions, because she represented the daughter-in-law of
the Chu Family, half the image of the whole Family.
Cherry thought for a while; she nodded, and said, "Okay, Grandpa, I know."
"Let Bill pick up Joe from school. Stay at home and rest with Jackson, because there's a big chance
that you will come back home later in the night. In any case, if you get tired, just ask Jackson to bring
you back home earlier, " said Andrew, with a particular concern in his voice.
Andrew had never disliked this grand-daughter-in-law; actually, he was quite glad that the Chu Family
could have such a daughter-in-law. Although five years ago her sudden departure had brought some
bad rumors to the Chu Family, he understood that she must have had her reasons, and that Sally had
also been living in the city among them. However, he could tell that she liked and cared about Jackson
back from her departure. He also knew that Jackson also loved her very much, because he had
searched for her like a mad man when she had first disappeared, and had also made great changes for
her. He was very happy that they could really love each other, and Jackson did everything for her. This
was happy news for the Chu Family, and ever since Cherry had married Jackson, Andrew had always
been loving this grand-daughter-in-law, who had neither the noble posture nor the aura of an
aristocratic girl. She was very calm and graceful. How couldn't he care about such a grand-daughter-in-
law?
