I Want A Lifetime With You Chapter 532
Chapter 532
Chapter 532 You Are Crying
“What exactly are you saying?” Shi Nuan pulled Fu Chengyan to sit beside him. She stroked his cheeks and brows with her delicate fingers before shaking her head and smiling. “You rescued me.”
Fu Chengyan wanted to say something, but nothing came out of his mouth as he locked gazes with her. “I know, but I blame myself for not protecting you well this time.”
“It’s not your fault. The one at blame is the person who captured me. He’s in the shadows, while we’re in the light. Who knows what he’d do next? Don’t overthink. See, I’m fine right now.” Shi Nuan didn’t give the incident too much thought. “You haven’t gotten a good rest these days, have you?” she asked, reaching out to caress his face.
Her gaze fell on Fu Chengyan, who nodded in response. “I couldn’t sleep because I missed you.”
“What a sweet talker you are! I missed you, too,” she said with a shy smile.
She then asked, “Yan, do you know who this J is?”
“No.” He stroked her head and fixed her slightly messy hair. “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of this.”
After Shi Nuan fell asleep, Fu Chengyan left the ward. The only thing on his mind was the man wearing a silver mask. He narrowed his eyes as he fell into deep thought. For some reason, he imagined the masked man as the man who abducted Shen Qianan a few years ago.
He clenched his fists, his eyes turning icy cold.
Meanwhile, Li Heng and Pei Huan brought Bao to the hospital. While Pei Huan took Bao to see Shi Nuan, Li Heng went to the director’s office and waited for Fu Chengyan.
After receiving Li Heng’s call, Fu Chengyan rushed to Su Shaoqing’s office and found Li Heng sitting there, holding something.
After half a year of not seeing Li Heng, Fu Chengyan noticed that the former’s demeanor became gentler. Upon Fu Chengyan’s arrival, Li Heng put down the things in his hand and greeted, “Chengyan.”
Fu Chengyan nodded. “How are things with you?”
“It has been quite peaceful in C Country in the past six months. However, I have new leads on Shen Qianan after you asked me to look into her.”
“What do you mean?” Fu Chengyan raised his head as Li Heng handed him something. He opened it and discovered it contained information about Shen Qianan’s life abroad. “Didn’t you give this to me already before?”
“Look closely.”
Confused, Fu Chengyan went over the document again. Its only difference from the files he had seen before was the pictures.
“Shen Qianan has been living abroad with Yu these past few years. However, every time an emergency happened, it was immediately resolved peacefully. I thought it was you or Shen Shixiu at first.”
“It wasn’t Shen Shixiu?” Fu Chengyan looked up at Li Heng. “What do you mean by this?”
“Things would be resolved for her whenever she was in trouble. I previously investigated Shen Shixiu, and he did not have people constantly watching over her. Naturally, there’s no way he could help her with her problems all the time. Moreover, Yu fell sick two times. Once was when he slipped at school and lost a lot of blood. However, Shen Qianan’s blood didn’t match his.”
Fu Chengyan immediately raised his head. “You mean the man who gave Yu his blood was his biological father?”
“Yes. Coincidentally, his name is Fu Sijue.”
Fu Chengyan’s face darkened when he heard this. “What did you say?”
“This is the hospital’s confidential information, but I asked someone for help. It took some time and effort, but we found out in the end. It’s Fu Sijue. He’s from the Fu clan.”
Fu Chengyan’s eyes darkened as he stared at the name on the document.
“There’s no such person in the Fu clan!” If there was such a powerful man in his clan, he would’ve known.
Although he didn’t know everyone in the extensive Fu clan, he was at least informed of the capable ones. Who exactly is Fu Sijue? There was no way he would be unaware if the man was part of his clan.
Li Heng’s expression became solemn. “If Yu was born after Shen Qianan was kidnapped, then this man is most likely his father. This would explain why Yu’s DNA matched with the Fu clan’s.”
Hearing that, Fu Chengyan nodded. “I had the same guess before, but I didn’t have any proof.” Now that he had a name, the next step was to figure out who Fu Sijue was.
“Do you want to ask your grandfather? Perhaps he’ll know?”
Just as Fu Chengyan and Li Heng were discussing, Su Shaoqing’s office door was pushed open forcefully. In came Su Shaoqing, who looked at Fu Chengyan with worry. “Chengyan, Shi Nuan is having an episode.”
“What?”
Fu Chengyan stood up immediately. “What do you mean she’s having an episode?” he yelled as he grabbed Su Shaoqing’s collar.
“Didn’t you say May is fine for the time being? Both Pei Huan and Bao are fine, so why would May have an episode?”
“I-I’m not sure!” Su Shaoqing felt wronged, but he had no idea how to explain it.
“Where is she?”
“I-Inside the ward.”
Right after Su Shaoqing finished speaking, he saw a shadow flash before him.
He was about to call for Fu Chengyan, but the man was already gone.
Li Heng looked at Su Shaoqing and patted him on the shoulder. “Let’s go take a look.”
Fu Chengyan rushed into the room to discover that Shi Nuan had fallen unconscious. She was muttering something under her breath, her face pale. Beads of cold sweat covered her forehead.
Pei Huan and Bao were initially going to visit her, but the nurse informed them that she was sleeping. Thus, Pei Huan decided to return after Shi Nuan woke up, but right when she turned to leave, she heard Shi Nuan’s scream. When she opened the door, she noticed a figure fleeing through the window, while Shi Nuan was already unconscious.
Pei Huan immediately went to get the doctor and nurse, but no one knew what was wrong with Shi Nuan.
“How is she?”
Fu Chengyan stood in front of Shi Nuan’s bed and watched over her, wishing he could experience the pain in her place.
“What in the world happened?”
“Chengyan,” Pei Huan started. “I brought Bao here to check on Nuan. There was someone inside her ward, but before I could see the person’s face, they vanished. What is happening to Nuan?” Pei Huan knew she was infected with the virus, so when Li Heng told her that Shi Nuan had it as well, she felt terrible.
“She got the virus as well?” Pei Huan had never had an episode before, so she had no idea it would be this bad. She couldn’t help but take a deep breath when she saw Shi Nuan in such a state. “Then-”
“Li Heng, bring Huan and Bao out,” Fu Chengyan interrupted and glanced at Li Heng, who nodded before leading the two outside.
Once they left, Fu Chengyan took a deep breath and grabbed Su Shaoqing. “What do we do now?” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
“Chengyan, calm down. I’m not sure what medicine I should give her either. I could only-”
“What? You’re not sure which medicine you should give her? Do you realize how much pain May is going through right now? You’re a doctor, and you’re saying you have no idea how to treat her?” Fu Chengyan became more aggressive as he gripped Su Shaoqing’s collar tightly. “Take a close look at the person who is lying here. She’s May, your sister, yet you’re telling me you don’t know what to do?”
His eyes were red and swollen from tears. He would rather be the one in pain instead. Shi Nuan was pregnant, so her pain must be doubled.
“Chengyan-”
“Get lost!”
Fu Chengyan let Su Shaoqing go. His entire body exuded a frightening aura.
He approached Shi Nuan and sat on the bed, wrapping his arms around her. “May, don’t sleep anymore. Look at me. May!”
He embraced her and whispered, “May, open your eyes and look at me. I’m here. If you’re in a lot of pain, just bite me and make me suffer alongside you. Okay?”
In her stupor, Shi Nuan felt her ears buzz. Her body was so painful that she couldn’t even put it into words. It was as if a million ants were biting her.
She heard Fu Chengyan speaking to her, his voice gentle, cautious, yet pitiful and heartbroken. She wanted to open her eyes and tell him how much pain she was in.
Her body began to tremble as she felt like her entire being was on fire. Nevertheless, Fu Chengyan held onto her tightly.
Finally, she opened her eyes and saw a face through her blurry eyes. Fu Chengyan hugged her close with one hand, while his other hand held hers to his cheek. Softly, he peppered kisses over her hand.
Her back was against his chest and her head on his shoulder, while his chin was rested on her head.
Feeling something wet on her face, Shi Nuan opened her eyes and touched her face weakly. It was stained with tears.
“Yan!”
Her voice was hoarse as she called him.
He lowered his head to look at her. As joy filled his eyes, she felt his body tremble. “You’re awake, May.”
He spoke softly as if raising his voice would cause her to vanish.
Nodding, Shi Nuan touched his face and discovered a wet patch near his eyes. As the realization hit her, she stilled her movement, her eyes widening. “Yan, you’re crying!”
She had never seen him shed tears before, but he was crying now because of her.
“Yan, you’re crying!”
“No, you saw it wrong. I’m not!”
