I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 516

Chapter 516 Rejection

Therefore, she needed to think of other ways, but before that, she had to go to the hospital to accompany her grandmother, so that she wouldn't worry when she saw the online news. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

Annie drove directly to the hospital and was relieved when her grandmother saw her. She ate dinner with her grandmother and chatted for a while. It was a long time before she came out of the hospital.

At about ten o'clock in the evening, Lauren, who had been on suspension and hadn't been seen for several days, returned in a black limousine to the apartment building where she lived. She had been suspended by Benjamin and she was currently relying on other means to maintain her popularity in the field, so she had come to Patrick on her own accord.

She had just returned downstairs from her apartment after accompanying Patrick to a dance.

In the car, Patrick held her hand and touched it gently. He narrowed his eyes and smiled lightly, "Lauren, why don't you stay here tonight and come over to my place?"

Lauren froze slightly, but it quickly disappeared. She looked at Patrick beside her and whispered, "I'm on my period. We'll do it next time, okay?"

She was reluctant to accompany Patrick, but for the sake of his background, she couldn't offend him completely.

Patrick, however, didn't give up. He raised his hand and touched her lips. "Let's play something else, alright?"

Lauren was stunned, and tears of aggravation immediately flowed from her eyes. She said, "Patrick, didn't you say you wouldn't push me?"

Patrick narrowed his eyes, the smile fading from his face as he released her hand and cupped her chin. He chuckled in a low voice. "Of course not. But, Lauren, you should know that a man's patience is limited. You know in your heart how Benjamin treats you, who treats you best and loves you the most, so you should make the most of the present and not make me upset. Otherwise, I will be heartbroken, right?"

He winked as he said the last few words, and there was no hint of sadness, only threat.

Patrick was telling Lauren not to reject him over and over again. Everything that should have happened had happened, and Lauren should stop pretending to be reserved and rejecting him. Otherwise, he could give up on her.

Lauren had never been so aggrieved, but she couldn't offend Patrick now, so she took the initiative and buried her head in his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and tenderly said, "Patrick, of course I know. I just don't want you to get tired of me, so I think distance creates perfection."

"How could get tired of you?"

Patrick laughed, and there was no smile in his eyes. He said lightly, "Well, it's getting late, so go upstairs early and get rested. I'll take you sailing some day, okay?"

"Okay." Lauren nodded and pushed open the car door to get out as Patrick watched.

She stood next to the car and waved to say goodbye to Patrick in the car. Then, she watched Patrick's car leave before she turned and walked into the apartment.

Patrick leaned on the backseat in the car. The driver whispered through the rearview mirror, "Mr. Hastings, shall I take you home now?"

"No, drop me off at Daisy's to sleep."

"Okay."

Patrick closed his eyes and smiled mockingly. How could Lauren possibly make him fall completely in love with her? As for why he was so obsessed with her, it certainly wasn't because of her.

Lauren knew nothing about it, and she was still figuring out how she could completely make Patrick fall in love with her and willingly flatter her.

She returned to the apartment. As

from the security tunnel. She frowned and said defensively, "Who? Who's there?"

At the sound of her voice, the door to the security tunnel was pushed open and a tightly dressed man stepped out.

She frowned tightly, her expression displeased, but she immediately opened the door and entered just in case she was noticed.

The man followed closely behind him into the apartment, and then the door was closed.

He took off his hat, removed his coat and shoes and walked into the living room, picking up the kettle straight away and drinking half the amount.

Lauren frowned, "Why did you come to my place? Aren't you putting me at risk by coming over now? What if I am found out?"
