INSULT
Samarra could not leave because her feelings differed from those of the person who approached Zachary. When he first tapped Zachary’s shoulder, she raised an eyebrow and looked at him from head to toe, examining Zachary’s entire being. She also didn’t like a man’s grin, which seemed to mock Zachary.
She stands back and listens.
“What exactly are you doing here, Zach? Oh, you’re going to buy some stock for the house? Househusband? Why did you even consider going shopping when you have so many helpers? Ahh … I know. Why do you do the housework because Samarra works for you?” Samarra noticed Zachary’s hesitant smile at the person he was speaking with.
“I have no idea why Ms. O’ Harra chose you as her husband. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. But take a look at yourself. You are nothing in comparison to your wife.”
Samarra sighed as she heard what she had heard. She noticed Zachary’s shoulder sagged and bent as if he had just accepted the insult hurled by the other person. Samarra was bothered by who Zachary was speaking to and by Zachary himself. He didn’t even respond to the interlocutor’s scorn.
“You know what I mean, Zach. Instead of ruining her because of you, separate her. Do you realize how good and beautiful she is to be tied down by an arranged marriage? Of course, we are aware. That you only married because your parents agreed to it.”
Zachary tightened his grip on the cart but remained silent and did not speak. Because Zachary was bent, Samarra couldn’t read his mind. He appears to be a child being chastised.
“‘Don’t be surprised if I find out about your arranged marriage; it’s not like you’ll marry someone else when you have a girlfriend.’ It’s also bad if you keep them to yourself. A true man can only be in love with one woman. I’ll give you some suggestions. Don’t tie Samarra to a marriage without love. Samarra deserves a successful and business-savvy man.”
When Samarra couldn’t take it any longer, she removed her mask and eyeglasses and went to Zachary and Xander.
“How are you doing, Mr. Ventura? Isn’t it odd to see you here?”
She could tell Xander Ventura was nervous when he saw her. He hesitated to smile before approaching Zachary.
“Miss O’Harr-”
“Mrs. Buenavista,” she cut Xander off in his tracks.
His tongue had always bothered her, especially now that he’s insulted Zachary in such a way that they’re somewhere else.
What if someone overhears him?
“Yes, Mrs. Buenavis-”
When she suddenly approached him, she cut off anything Xander was saying. She grabbed the cart and turned to face him.
“I strongly advise you not to insult my husband because if I find out, I’ll ruin your life and your company,” she said weakly, just enough for Xander to hear.
Samarra could tell Xander had swallowed and was taken aback by what she said.
“Mr. Xander, we’ll be ahead of you.”
She smiled and took Zachary’s hand in hers.
“What did you tell Xander? Why is he so pale? “While they were in the vegetable section, Zachary asked her a question.
Samarra was taken aback by how well she picked up the apple and turned to face Zachary, who seemed to be waiting for her response. She took a deep breath before continuing to inhale the apples.
“Ara.”
“Let’s talk at home, Cadden.”
She turned away from him and went to the meat section. She barely looked back at Zachary, who seemed torn between following her and standing there. She shook her head and took the rest they required.
Nobody dared to break the silence between Samarra and Zachary on their way home.
Samarra stepped out of the car and led the way into the house while Zachary carried their purchases.
Zachary appeared to be knocked to his feet and let go of the groceries he had purchased as soon as he entered the door.
“Hmm… What’s the matter?” Zachary asked, perplexed; despite his confusion, he hugged Samarra back. He even rested his chin on her head and smelled her hair.Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“How did you allow Xander to insult you earlier?”
Zachary took a deep breath to meet their gaze and touched Samarra’s chin.
“I don’t have to blame him for insulting me, love. Furthermore, it is true that-”
When Samarra put her finger to Zachary’s lip, he was taken aback.
“Whatever happened, you’re my husband, and I’m not going to let anyone insult you. Please… Fight for your rights.”
When Zachary noticed the twinkle in both of her eyes, he was devastated.
Is she crying because of me? Is she in love with me?
“Ara.”
“Don’t you realize how much it bothers me when you don’t react and fight with others? Do you realize how much it bothers me when others insult you? Cadden… I’d give my life to save you, but I hope you fight for yourself.”
Zachary bit his lower lip to keep the threatening tears from falling into his eyes. Samarra struck him as a brave woman. But she’s crying now because he didn’t defend himself in front of other people.
“Please, don’t cry, love. It appears that what they are telling me is correct.” Samarra locked her gaze on him. Her face was filled with surprise, possibly as a result of what he had said. He smiled as he wiped Samarra’s tears away with his finger.
“Look at me, love. Your eyes are crying because of me. Because of me, you’re in a bad mood. You’re upset because of me-”
“And it’s because of you that I’m happy.”
Zachary looked up, assuming that the tears had returned to his eyes. Even though they frequently argued, he didn’t believe Samarra was happy with him. She had no idea that Xander’s insult to him would make her feel even worse.
“Cadden.”
Zachary’s lips landed on Samarra’s forehead and pressed closer to her waist as she closed her eyes. Zachary was claiming her lips without hesitation the next thing she knew.
