I Love You, Miss Genius

Chapter 401

Chapter 401

Bonnie remained silent. She might have asked Ivor to go with her if last night did not happen. However, she could no longer do that.

“That settles it. You’ll have a blind date at Zephyr Cafe this Sunday. I need to hang up now. The fields won’t plow themselves.” With that, Welma hung up.

Bonnie looked at her phone. She was unsure when Ivor did it, but he had set his picture as her wallpaper. She fiddled with her phone and changed it back to a random image. Then, she pulled her blanket over her head and prepared to return to sleep.

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

Bonnie’s phone vibrated, and she grew annoyed, wondering who was calling this time.

“Hello?!”

“Are you still sleeping, Bonwick?”

“It’s still so early in the morning, Orpheus. What do you want?”

“It’s about Nancy.”

The mention of Nancy’s name made her open her eyes immediately. “What about her?”

“She’s missing. She usually arrives at the film set earlier than anyone, but we haven’t seen her since last night’s shooting. We can’t even get her on the phone. Since you’re a good friend of hers, I called you to ask if you know what’s happening.”

“She didn’t call me, either.” Bonnie’s brows furrowed, and then her eyes widened. “Did she go home?”

“Home? What do you mean?” Orpheus had no idea what Bonnie was talking about.

“I mean her old home. The Church family’s house.”

“Oh, that house. I’ll see if I can find anything out.”

“Maybe I should do it,” Bonnie said solemnly.

He was stunned. “Huh? I can do it. After all, I can pull some strings using the Knight family’s name.”

“The Knights might be powerful and influential, but I work faster than you guys regarding investigations,” she said confidently.

He was stunned yet again. ‘Bonnie can work faster than the Knights? Is she for real?’

She hung up the phone and called Jim immediately. Then, she told him to track down Nancy’s whereabouts at once. It did not take him long to pinpoint Nancy’s location. “You’re right, Bonnie. Nancy’s at her family’s house now. They locked her in there.”

“They locked her up?” Bonnie’s expression was stern, and her tone was cold.

“The Churches are trying to marry her to a sixty-year-old man to secure a collaboration.”

Bonnie tightened her grip on her phone as Jim said, “I’ll take some men with me and get her out of there.”

“I’ll do it myself.”

“But—”

“Nancy’s one of my best friends,” Bonnie said firmly.

“All right. I’ll standby in the vicinity.”

“Perfect.” Immediately after, Bonnie hung up and headed to the Church family’s house. This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
