Chapter 963: She Attempted Suicide

When Zane saw Yanis suddenly stand up, he immediately set down his water cup and walked over to

her.

"I know, I'm coming right now," Yanis replied and hung up the phone without delay.

After ending the call, Yanis looked at Zane and said, "Ivan just told me that she attempted suicide, but

she was found in time and taken to the hospital for rescue. I'm going to check on her."

Though Yanis didn't mention the name, Zane knew exactly who she was talking about.

Zane reached out and held Yanis's hand. "I'll go with you."

Yanis nodded. "Okay."

Less than ten minutes after they arrived home, they hurriedly made their way to the hospital.

Even though Zane was driving fast from D-king Castle to the hospital, it still took them about twenty

minutes to get there.

When they arrived, Madison was still in the emergency room and had not come out yet.

But Yanis saw someone unexpected: Mila. Since Ivan called off the engagement with Mila, Yanis hadn't

seen her much.

Now that she saw Mila here, Yanis was taken aback.

Mila, on the other hand, greeted Yanis with a friendly smile. "Miss Thompson."

Yanis nodded. "You're here too."

"I happened to be with Ivan, so I came along," Mila explained.

Hearing this, Yanis glanced at Ivan's face, nodded, and didn't say more.

The light in the emergency room remained on, and it was nearly three to four hours later before it finally

went out.

Ryan was among the first to stand up and walk to the door.

The doctor came out from inside and said, "The patient is out of danger. They will be transferred to a

regular ward soon. You family members can go handle the paperwork first."

Hearing that Madison was okay, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

Soon, Madison was pushed out by a nurse and taken to a regular ward.

When Ivan went to handle the paperwork, Yanis followed her.

Ivan knew it was Yanis when she saw her. "Yanis, if it were you, always dealing with this, wouldn't you

be tired?"

Upon hearing Ivan's words, Yanis looked at her and said, "Ivan, I..."

"I know, our situations are different, but suddenly, I feel so exhausted. Even if she's the one who gave

birth to and raised me, I still feel drained," Ivan interrupted her before she could finish.

After Ivan's words, she wanted to say something, but she felt that anything she said at this moment

would be feeble and inadequate. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org

Ivan had experienced things she hadn't, and there was no way to truly understand someone else's

feelings completely.

So, Yanis didn't respond to Ivan's words and changed the topic. "Why don't you go rest for a while? I'll

handle the paperwork."

Ivan shook her head. "No need, I'll do it."

After saying that, Ivan didn't wait for Yanis and left on her own.

Yanis hesitated for a moment but decided not to follow her. She knew that Ivan needed some time to

calm down.

"He's been through a lot from the beginning," Mila's voice suddenly sounded next to Yanis as she was

about to turn away.

Upon hearing Mila's words, Yanis turned her head to look at her. "From the beginning?"

Mila nodded. "My mom and Aunt Madison may not be biological sisters, but they're as close as sisters.

Aunt Madison is possessive, whether it's towards Ivan or Uncle Baxter."

Though Yanis had known Ivan for a long time, she had never truly understood the situation in the

Baxter family.

Before, she hadn't thought there was anything wrong with Madison or found anything abnormal about

her.

But now, learning some things, Yanis was somewhat shocked.

After hearing Mila's words, Yanis didn't know how to respond to her.

Being overly possessive was not a good thing; to some extent, it could be considered pathological. At

its extreme, it could even become crazy.

Yanis had witnessed Madison's craziness.

So, indeed, Ivan had been through a lot over the years.

"In fact, he has been through more than just this," Mila whispered.

Upon hearing Mila say this, Yanis turned to look at her again.

Mila continued, "He liked you for a long time, without knowing that you two were half-siblings. He

thought he could slowly let go, but then he found out you were his half-sister. This sudden change was

a fatal blow to him."

Yanis had always thought that she understood Ivan at least to some extent, but now she realized that

she didn't know him at all. In fact, Mila seemed to know him better than she did.

"You..." Yanis wanted to say something, but Mila spoke first, "Don't misunderstand. Although I said I

like him, I know he doesn't feel the same way about me. I'm not the kind of person who can't let go

once I've held on to something, so now I see him only as a friend at most."

Hearing Mila's words, Yanis didn't say anything further.

"I'm going back now. I'll come to see Aunt Madison tomorrow," Mila said goodbye to Yanis and left.

Yanis stood there, watching Mila enter the elevator before she turned and walked towards Madison's

room.

When Yanis arrived at the room, she saw only Zane standing by the door.

"Is she awake?" Yanis glanced inside and asked softly.

Zane shook his head, "Not yet. Mr. Baxter is in there."

Yanis didn't intend to go in and pulled Zane to sit on a nearby chair.

Zane turned his head to look at Yanis and whispered, "Don't you want to go in and check on her?"

Yanis shook her head, "No, there's no need. She's fine now anyway."

Seeing Yanis like this, Zane didn't say anything more.

When Ivan finished handling the paperwork and came over, she saw the two of them sitting outside.

She hesitated before approaching, "You can go home now. She's okay."

In fact, Ivan had also hesitated when calling Yanis. At that moment, she thought that if Madison couldn't

be saved, she didn't want to leave with regrets, nor did she want Yanis to have any regrets. That's why

she made the call.

Upon hearing Ivan's words, Yanis didn't respond to them but asked, "Is everything sorted out?"

Ivan replied, "Yes, you can go home now."

Yanis stood up and said, "Okay."

Ivan looked at Zane and said, "You should go too."

Zane glanced at Yanis and then stood up, nodding at Ivan.

Madison was fine now, and there was no need for them to stay here.

After Zane and Yanis left, Ivan entered the room.
