Chapter 885: I'll Be With You
In the evening, Yanis still went back to D-king Castle with Zane. Afterward, Yanis fell seriously ill and
ran a high fever every afternoon for a whole week. They did almost all the necessary tests, but they
couldn't find any problem. Zane brought his work home to take care of Yanis.
After a week, Yanis had lost a lot of weight and looked like a gust of wind could blow her away. Just
when Yanis was starting to get better, Marnon couldn't hold on any longer. He passed away in his sleep
on the night Mitch returned from Viteto.
Mitch and Reed seemed to be coping relatively well, perhaps because they had already known the
situation. Natasha and Mia had swollen, teary eyes.
"I heard you were sick?" Allan's voice came from beside Yanis, who was standing in a daze.
Yanis turned her head to look at Allan's face and said, "I'm almost fine."
Allan handed her a cup of warm water and asked, "Did Zane not come?"
"He had something to deal with. He'll come later." Yanis reached out to take the cup of water and
asked, "Why didn't you go and keep Reed company?"
Allan leaned against the wall and replied, "She needs time to process it herself. Offering too much
comfort won't be effective."
Hearing Allan's words, Yanis nodded and said, "You're right. Many things need to be processed on
one's own."
Allan remained silent and stood with Yanis for a while before leaving.
As Allan left, Mitch approached from the side. "Yanis, why don't you go lie down in Reed's room for a
while?"
Yanis shook her head at the suggestion. "It's okay."
After a brief exchange, Yanis looked at Mitch and said, "When are you planning to take your mother's
ashes back to Viteto? I'll go with you."
"After the cremation, we'll go back," Mitch replied softly.
Yanis agreed, "I'll go with you then."
Mitch didn't refuse. "Okay."
Zane arrived in the evening and stayed with Yanis. The next morning, Marnon was cremated. Yanis
told Zane about going back to Viteto with Mitch, and Zane didn't object. "I'll go with you."
Yanis looked at Zane and asked, "What about your work at the company?"
"Albi is there, so everything will be fine," Zane reassured her.
Yanis initially wanted to say something more, but when she met Zane's gaze, she swallowed her
words. She knew that once Zane made a decision, he wouldn't easily change it, so she didn't say
anything else.
In the afternoon, they all went to the airport. There were many rules to follow in Viteto, and Mia and the
others had to go back as well because it was mandatory for all children to be present at Marnon's
burial.
After boarding the plane, Yanis leaned against Zane and fell asleep. She was only awakened when
they landed. Zane had called Brandon before they departed from Manches City, so Brandon arrangedFrom NôvelDrama.Org.
two SUVs to pick them up.
"Should we head to the mountainous area now, or wait until tomorrow morning?" Brandon asked after
greeting Yanis and the others.
Zane looked at Mitch and asked, "Go back tomorrow morning?"
Mitch nodded. "It's not good to travel at night. Let's go tomorrow morning."
Brandon agreed, "I'll arrange accommodation for you here, and tomorrow morning, they'll take you
directly to the destination."
Mitch thanked Brandon and then took Reed and the others to their temporary lodging for the night.
Zane accompanied Brandon to his place.
"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Brandon noticed that Yanis leaned on Zane as soon as she
got in the car and asked softly.
Zane hugged her in his arms and replied, "She's been sick during this period and hasn't fully recovered
yet."
"Do you want me to arrange for someone to come and check on her?"
Zane looked down at Yanis.
Shaking her head, Yanis said, "I'm fine, I just want to sleep."
Brandon whispered a suggestion, "Why don't you stay at my place? I have guest rooms there, and it's
more convenient than a hotel."
Zane agreed, "That would be great."
Zane didn't want Yanis to stay in a hotel, so he didn't refuse Brandon's offer.
Yanis was in a dazed state the whole time, and when they arrived at Brandon's residence, Zane carried
her out of the car.
Looking at Zane, Brandon said, "You take her to the room and let her rest. If necessary, I can arrange
for someone to examine her. It's better to have a doctor here than in the mountain area."
Zane glanced at Yanis and nodded softly. "Okay."
"Go to the room first. I'll make a phone call," Brandon gestured for Zane to take Yanis to the guest
room.
Zane acknowledged and led Yanis to the room. He gently laid her on the bed and pulled the blanket
over her. "Yanis?"
Yanis responded with a soft sound and opened her eyes to look at Zane. "Zane, I just want to sleep."
Zane reached out and gently touched Yanis' forehead. He spoke softly, "Rest for a while. Should I
make some porridge for you later?"
Yanis nodded and closed her eyes.
Zane tucked her in, then turned and left the room.
Brandon saw Zane coming out and said, "The doctor should arrive in about ten minutes."
Zane nodded and asked, "Do you have any ingredients at home? I'll cook something for her."
"Yes, I do. Should I ask someone to come and cook?"
"No need, I'll handle it," Zane replied, heading straight to the kitchen.
Brandon followed Zane to the kitchen door. "I didn't expect you to be able to cook. You're a man who
can handle both the business world and the kitchen. Truly an exemplary provider for the family."
"I learned when I came here before," Zane replied while busy in the kitchen. "What have you been up
to? Yanis said Miss Thompson couldn't reach you?"
