I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 485 Wonder Rope

Chapter 485 Wonder Rope

“But those guys ran into Theos. I heard Theos was a pretty young woman! They used every trick in the book and offered up every valuable item they had. Emerald Scepter, Golden Pen, Golden Dragon Order, Sky Ruler... Each of those are extraordinary magic items in their own right, but Theos killed them all anyway. I heard Theos destroyed those items and killed Grondor on the spot. She also killed one of The Devilish Three and wounded one more. Had Dark Emperor not shown up in time, those old mages would have all been killed!” the shop owner continued excitedly.

“Dark Emperor?” Jonathan was taken aback as he did not know who that was.

“You don't even know who Dark Emperor is?” the shop owner asked with a confused frown.

“To be honest, I ended up in Pollerton while running for my life, so I'm not too familiar with this place,” Jonathan replied awkwardly.

Having understood that, the boss no longer found his ignorance strange. One would find all sorts of people in Pollerton, so it wasn't all that surprising.

“Dark Emperor is a powerful individual who cultivates dark magic. He's really famous here in Pollerton, and he owns a celestial weapon called Divine Solar Needle! I heard Dark Emperor was wounded by Theos too!”

“What happened after that?” Jonathan pressed on.

“However, Theos was also wounded by Dark Emperor's Divine Solar Needle. In the end, Theos had no choice but to leave Pollerton. I'm guessing it was because she feared more old mages would show up,” the boss replied.

Having confirmed that Theos had left, Jonathan breathed a sigh of relief. We'll be a lot safer here in Pollerton now that Theos is gone!

“Dark Emperor sure is something else if he was able to hurt Theos!” Jonathan exclaimed.

“Dark Emperor was the first person to master dark magic, so it is only natural that he would be 'something else.' He only managed to hurt Theos because he attacked her together with the other old mages, though. Also, Theos didn't have the chance to use her magic item in that fight. Had she utilized her Holy Scripture, Dark Emperor would not have been able to hurt her.”

“Holy Scripture? Theos' magic item must be really powerful, then. Why didn't she use it in that fight?” Jonathan asked.

“You sure are a funny one, mister! I heard Theos came to Pollerton to hunt down and kill a few traitors. Supreme Sect, which is located in Paradiso, has sent most of its elites over. On top of that, there is a huge rift between Supreme Sect and the royal family. Theos had to leave Holy Scripture with the chief elder so he could keep the situation under control. She could also return to Supreme Sect using Holy Scripture in critical moments. That's why she never brought Holy Scripture with her!” the boss replied.

Having finally understood everything, Jonathan thanked the boss and left the shop.

It was still pretty bright out on the streets, but most of the shops were already starting to close. Jonathan knew that it would be hard for him to buy decent gems with the little money that he had, so he decided to buy Clarabelle some milk and pastries instead.

Upon getting around a corner, Jonathan stumbled upon a shop that sold all sorts of snacks. After

buying the things he needed, he began to brainstorm a way to obtain the gems.

It seems I will have only two options to get those gems. I can either rob someone of their gems or rob someone of their money and use that cash to buy the gems. Both methods will involve robbing someone, though. I've pulled all sorts of ridiculous stunts in the past, but I've never robbed a person before! Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

With that in mind, Jonathan wandered around the streets looking for a target to rob. He really didn't want to resort to robbery, but he didn't have any other choice.

After seeing what happened to Fekro, Jonathan knew better than to even think about robbing shops and merchants.

It was uncertain if Jonathan got lucky or unlucky, but he heard someone screaming not far away, “That's the guy! Don't let him get away!”

As Jonathan looked up, he saw someone familiar in front of him. It was none other than Migsett Golde of The Devilish Three.

Jonathan had been observing the old mages for quite a while, so he was able to recognize Migsett immediately. However, he did not expect Migsett to recognize him as well.

Migsett was the youngest among The Devilish Three. The eldest had died, and the second eldest had been severely injured. As if that wasn't bad enough, Migsett's magic item, Golden Dragon Order, had been destroyed by Theos.

Migsett came out of hiding in order to help his wounded brother find some rare herbs.

He was anxiously running around when he saw Jonathan aimlessly wandering the streets.

Since Jonathan had left a really strong impression on him, he was able to recognize Jonathan in an instant. Upon seeing the man, Migsett immediately understood that Jonathan had used him and his guys.

“Hey! You're not from Supreme Sect!” Migsett quickly stepped in front of Jonathan as he continued angrily, “You're the guy Lynn is after, aren't you?”

Jonathan played dumb and said with an awkward smile, “I have no idea what you're talking about! Anyway, I've still got some business to attend to, so I'll be on my way now! Bye!”

Although the old mages weren't exactly good people, they had done nothing wrong to Jonathan. As such, Jonathan felt a little bad for betraying them.

“You're not going anywhere!” Migsett yelled furiously. There was no way he would let Jonathan off the hook so easily. Migsett then jabbed a finger at Jonathan, causing a green light to flash past them.

As it turned out, Migsett had activated Wonder Rope, which was another one of his magic items.

Wonder Rope was made by reinforcing silk from silk moths with light elements, making it ridiculously tough and capable of gathering light elements to release heat energy.

On top of that, Wonder Rope was also capable of moving at lightning-fast speeds. Once it was wrapped around a person's body, it would get tighter and tighter. The more they struggled, the more it

would hurt them. It could even cut through objects like a laser beam.

Jonathan could instantly sense that Wonder Rope was about to bind him. Realizing how powerful Wonder Rope was, he quickly reached out and grabbed onto it.

Like a powerful mystical snake, Wonder Rope kept struggling to break free. It even made itself burn hot by releasing a huge amount of energy.

Wonder Rope got so hot that Jonathan found it a little difficult to maintain his grip on it.

However, Jonathan was no longer the weakling he used to be, and he refused to give up so easily. He quickly activated his Force and channeled a powerful surge of electricity into his hands.

Boom!

Just like that, Jonathan broke Wonder Rope into pieces, rendering it completely useless in an instant.

Migsett was completely frozen in shock when he saw that. What the f*ck? Just how powerful is this guy?

While Jonathan's magic cultivation level was not all that impressive, his martial arts cultivation level was high enough to dominate all of Moranta.

Since Wonder Rope had been destroyed, Migsett decided to quickly follow up with magical attacks. Being a Light Magician, he pressed his hands together and created a magic seal to unleash Divine Flame Slash.

By manipulating the light elements, Migsett was able to shape them into a scythe that emitted a bright, golden glow.

The scythe was razor-sharp on all sides and spun like a circular saw, shredding anything within a ten- meter radius.

Having realized how powerful Migsett was, Jonathan quickly unleashed a freezing spell in response.

A huge and thick Ice Column appeared in front of Jonathan's finger and clashed with Divine Flame Slash.

Boom!

Huge chunks of ice flew everywhere as the razor-sharp Divine Flame Slash shattered Ice Column.

Jonathan's usage of Ice Column as a counter to Divine Flame Slash was a smart move. Despite Ice Column being a low-level technique, it was able to neutralize Migsett's high-level Divine Flame Slash with ease.

The concept was similar to pouring a bit of water into a highly-advanced machine, causing it to short- circuit instantly.

After neutralizing Migsett's Divine Flame Slash, Jonathan quickly followed up with another attack.

He pointed a finger at Migsett and launched Flaming Sword in his direction.

As Jonathan's attacks were all instantaneous, they were highly effective on magicians with weak

physical bodies like Migsett.

Of course, Migsett was no sitting duck either. He waved his hand and created a wall using Light Magic to block Jonathan's Flaming Sword.

“That won't save you!” Jonathan yelled as he ran forward and rammed into the wall.

Just like that, Jonathan had successfully broken through the wall of light and reached out to grab Migsett by the throat.

Crack!

He mercilessly snapped Migsett's neck and crushed his windpipe in the process.

Jonathan decided to kill Migsett because he knew there was no talking his way out of the situation.

Although Jonathan had killed Migsett in front of a lot of people, none of them were shocked by it.

Murders like these were so common in Lerton that everyone had already gotten used to it.

Jonathan then searched Migsett's corpse and took the latter's storage ring.

As he didn't like the feeling of being stared at after killing someone, Jonathan quickly fled the scene without even examining the storage ring's contents.

He was about to run off when someone called out to him from behind.

“Did you really think you could walk away after killing someone in broad daylight?”

Jonathan turned around in response, only to see Sahir standing behind him.

As Sahir was a lot more powerful than Migsett, Jonathan flashed him a wry smile and asked, “What else do you expect me to do? Stick around and let someone else kill me in retaliation?”

Sahir's expression grew cold as he said, “While The Devilish Three are not considered friends of mine, you have used us all like tools, so I must kill you to get my revenge!”

“I see. Bring it on, then!” Jonathan replied.

“Insolence! You would be wrong if you think I am as weak as Migsett! However, it is not convenient for us to fight here. Do you have the guts to go somewhere with me?” Sahir asked.
