I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 483 Birth Of A Dragon

Chapter 483 Birth Of A Dragon

Jonathan could empathize with Torrence's feelings. He observed their surroundings and expressed concern, “Although we may not be entirely safe here, we need to consider Clarabelle's imminent hatching. If it occurs while we are in Lerton, it could lead to significant complications.”

In response, Fekro said, “It doesn't matter if it happens when we're in a city or in the middle of nowhere. Clarabelle's hatching will cause a commotion either way. It won't be easy for us to seek peace.”

It was then Jonathan fell into deep thought. This is a pretty big issue. There are many old mages in Pollerton, after all. While the dragons used to be a force to be reckoned with, now, they're a rare sight. As such, dragon scales, blood, and essence ball are all valuable commodities. In other words, a dragon is a walking treasure chest. Clarabelle will be weak when it first hatches, and that'll be a source of trouble for us. If we want peace, we need to abandon Clarabelle or sacrifice it to the old mage living on the island of the Dead Sea, settling the matter once and for all. Although, I doubt anyone in our group, including myself, will seriously consider either option. We'll rather die than abandon Clarabelle.

After a momentary silence, he suggested “How about this? We'll use the surrounding elements to form a shield to protect Clarabelle. This way, Clarabelle's dragon breath won't spread out, and we'll be able to prevent anyone from discovering it.”

Fekro's eyes lit up. “That's a great idea. When the time comes, you and I will take turns maintaining the shield to contain Clarabelle's dragon breath.” Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“This isn't a long-term solution, though. We can't protect Clarabelle like this forever. We need to devise a better plan!”

Fekro contemplated in brief silence. Then, he stated, “A high-quality storage ring is capable of ventilation. However, we don't have a storage ring like that right now. If we want to create a storage ring capable of ventilation, we need an expert Magician. Only someone like that can install an air-purifier magic formation inside a storage ring.”

Jonathan's group was so busy running for their lives that they didn't have time to think about the problems Clarabelle would cause. Seeing that Clarabelle was about to hatch, they were forced to deal with it at that moment.

Immediately, Jonathan asked, “Do you know how to implement an air-purifier magic formation?”

Fekro replied, “I know the spell, but this magic formation is so small and complex that even some Archmages find it difficult to install it. That's why you can't put any living beings inside an ordinary storage ring. Additionally, our air-purifier magic formation will be even more complicated because it needs to filter out dragon breath. We can't risk having the dragon breath be expelled from the storage ring during air circulation.”

“In any case, we need to give it a try.” The moment Jonathan ended his sentence, his expression shifted.

It was because cracks were starting to form on the dragon egg inside the spatial ring.

“Not good. Clarabelle's about to hatch.” Colors drained from his countenance.

Fekro's expression turned grim before he turned to Torrence. “Torrence, you and Ms. Yeverie need to set up a tent expeditiously. Then, I need you to guard the entrance. Don't let any outsiders approach us. I'll set up a magic shield to prevent Clarabelle's dragon breath from leaking out.”

Torrence was aware of the stakes, so he immediately nodded.

Without delay, he and Yeverie hastily set up the tent. Concurrently, Fekro speedily cast Vacuum Shield. Vacuum Shield could drain all elemental energy in a specific range. Essentially, the shield could trap Clarabelle's dragon breath within, preventing anyone from detecting it.

Once Jonathan saw Fekro had set up Vacuum Shield, he removed the dragon egg from his spatial ring and placed it on the ground.

The cracks on the giant dragon eggshell grew larger as the seconds ticked by.

Suddenly, the shell shattered, followed by a cry.

The voice didn't sound like a dragon. Instead, it more closely resembled the crying of a cockerel.

Jonathan stared at the creature sitting in the broken eggshell.

Then, he gulped as he observed Clarabelle, whose appearance was quite unsettling. It resembled a slimy, furless adult dog, but its curled-up position and distinct features set it apart. It had horn-like protrusions on its head and claws that were much sharper than those of a typical canine.

Moments later, Clarabelle stuck its head out, opened its eyes, and scanned its environment with curiosity.

The few strands of hair on its head were still stuck there.

“What the h*ll! Why is this dragon so ugly?” Disgust was written all over Jonathan's face.

When Fekro saw Clarabelle, he couldn't help but smile bitterly. It was the first time he saw a real dragon.

Furthermore, it was one that had just hatched.

Torrence and Yeverie, who were both standing guard outside, couldn't resist the temptation to enter the tent. They gazed at Clarabelle with curiosity.

Clarabelle similarly gazed at everyone before standing up exactly like a little puppy.

Then, it pounced on Yeverie, shouting, “Mommy! Mommy!”

Jonathan thought, All right, dragons really are incredible. It knows how to shout “Mommy” right after it is born. Then again, it's not that weird. After all, a dragon gestates for over a hundred years. I bet the baby dragon learned a lot when it spent a century in its mother's womb.

Yeverie was immediately shocked. Why is it calling me “Mommy”? I'm an unmarried woman! She panicked, not knowing what to do after Clarabelle pounced on her, seemingly seeking nourishment like a newborn searching for its mother's milk. However, she didn't know how to reject Clarabelle's enthusiasm.

As Clarabelle approached Yeverie, it affectionately rubbed its sticky head against her hand. Its tongue playfully extended, giving her palm a gentle lick as it exclaimed, “Mommy!”

Witnessing the heartwarming interaction, the onlookers couldn't help but compare Clarabelle's appearance to that of a dog.

Yeverie's heart melted at the adorable yipping sounds coming from Clarabelle. She gently patted Clarabelle's head and spoke affectionately, “Be a good girl, Clarabelle.”

Jonathan and the others couldn't suppress their laughter as they watched the interaction. Concurrently, Jonathan sensed a thick dragon breath in the air following Clarabelle's emergence. Clarabelle was a dragon, so she exhaled dragon breath.

While it may not have been particularly impressive in that context, it was noteworthy due to Clarabelle's dragon lineage. Just like humans exhale human breath, the air expelled from a dragon's mouth was referred to as dragon breath.

Similar to how the collective presence of humans could generate human spirit, the convergence of dragons would manifest as a distinct essence of dragon spirit.

Dragon parts were invaluable. If Clarabelle's dragon breath were to inadvertently be detected by nearby old mages, it could attract their attention. In such a scenario, those mages would not hesitate to launch an assault, seeking to capture the defenseless Clarabelle and harvest its precious flesh for their own purposes.

At that moment, Fekro was filtering out all dragon breath with fire elements. He had purified the air circulating in the tent, preventing dragon breath from leaking out.

Upon spotting Fekro's pale countenance, Jonathan asked, “How long can you last?”

Fekro had exerted too much spiritual energy earlier. He had tirelessly assisted Theos in maintaining a complex magic formation and had subsequently unleashed the powerful Fire Lotus to lure out the old mages. Without a moment's respite, he had been continuously on the move.

Smiling bitterly, Fekro answered, “Not for long.”

Jonathan suggested, “All right. In that case, I'll maintain the magic barrier while you tell me how to install the air-purifier magic formation. We need to take good care of Clarabelle. Once the air-purifier magic formation has been implemented into the storage ring, we'll be able to keep Yeverie as well as Clarabelle inside. During the night, we'll have one person be the lookout. The rest will hide in the ring, which is much safer.”

“It's not a bad idea. However, there's something you must be aware of. You may be a genius, but it's incredibly challenging to set up the air-purifier magic formation. Not only do you need to have a high magic cultivation level, but you also need to comprehend the many intricate designs of the formation. As air-purifier magic formation isn't particularly useful, many Divine Masters couldn't be bothered to get it right.” He paused before continuing, “Well, technically, it wasn't that they were being lazy. They were merely afraid of failing and embarrassing themselves. Also, a Rank Five Magician successfully created the air-purifier magic formation in the past once. That's why the setup required for this magic formation isn't that intricately tied to one's cultivation level.”

Jonathan grinned. “Let me try, then.”

Fekro nodded.

A moment later, Jonathan handily formed an icy barrier.

It was easy for him to perform the spell. First, he used water elements to squeeze the other elemental energy dry. Then, he integrated a ventilation mechanism in the middle of the magic formation. In other words, he was using water elements to absorb dragon breath before slowly attaching the water elements to the ice shield. With that, he had created proper ventilation inside the tent.

Water elements would absorb the air that the group exhaled as well as the dragon breath.

Then, the water elements that trapped the dragon breath would be frozen, preventing the dragon breath from escaping the tent.

While the formation was extremely complicated, Jonathan completely grasped its inner works. Hence, it seemed easy for him to do it. Fekro felt as though he was watching Jonathan handily completing a complicated equation.

Hence, he was amazed, his eyes sparkling. “Perhaps you may be capable of setting up a formation as complicated as the air-purifier magic formation.”

Jonathan grinned. Fekro didn't have the nerve to split his attention while setting up Vacuum Shield. Yet, at that moment, Jonathan was handling everything effortlessly. He pointed at Fekro and immediately sucked out the spiritual imprint inside the latter's mind.

Fekro was slightly stunned before joy flashed past his eyes.

“From here on out, we're comrades, Fekro. If you're willing to join us, we'll be happy to accept you into our group. If you wish to leave, we won't force you to stay. We're all about freedom and like- mindedness.”

Fekro beamed. “You're a sly fox, Mr. Lawson! Besides joining your group, are there any other survival options for me?”

Jonathan chuckled. “Well, technically, there is one. If you secretly eliminate all of us and bring our corpses back to Theos, you'll accomplish a great deed!”

Fekro's expression shifted. “There's no way I'll do such a dishonorable thing!”

“It was just a joke, Fekro. Don't take it to heart,” Jonathan said. In response, Fekro released a sigh of relief. “It's not funny at all.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan's words sent a chill down Torrence's spine. Initially, Torrence also thought removing the spiritual imprint in Fekro was a good idea. However, the direction of Jonathan's line of logic switched so fast that he immediately helped Fekro devise a dastardly plan!
