I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 395

Chapter 395

Jonathan was shocked. Does Lesley not plan to come back? Overwhelmed with concern, he ran after Lesley as fast as he could.

Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, the latter was nowhere to be seen.

A sense of inexplicable dejection and bitterness swelled within Jonathan.

However, the negative emotions were quickly swept aside by him. He was, after all, mentally stronger than Lesley. Since he had committed those deeds, there was no room for regrets. Edward, Tristan, and Ignatius. These evil men are my true enemies. If I were to be soft-hearted and indecisive, how can I even speak of seeking vengeance against them? It would be nothing but a ridiculous joke.

With that, Jonathan turned around and returned to Protector Condominium.

By the time he arrived, the morning sun was shining brightly, illuminating the condominium's grounds.

The light that filtered through the tree leaves made for a gorgeous sight.

Unlike the chill of the night wind, the morning breeze felt more invigorating.

Although it was another brand new day, it was one that was filled with trials and tribulations for Jonathan.

What brought him relief was that ever since he sucked the blood of the girl, his body had stopped flaring up.

Upon returning to his bedroom, he sat cross-legged and meditated on the mysterious condition of his body.

The wholesome sensation he felt from it was undeniable. The cells in his body were no longer evolving or mutating. Instead, they had achieved a sense of equilibrium, just like a river that flowed across the cells of his brain.

Only after this particular “river” was filled would the “water” overflow to the next channel.

Jonathan wanted to experience the awakening of his brain cells that Divine Masters go through.

Nonetheless, he immediately realized that the nutrition he received was different from other Divine Masters.

That was because Mabel and the others were able to unleash their mana. In contrast to them, he could only convert his mana into combat force, a limitation of Leahra's bloodline.

That said, there was nothing wrong with the ability, as it could strengthen one's physical body and increase one's strength.

Such changes would naturally elevate his attacking prowess significantly.

If it stayed as mana, it would be an entirely new beginning for him.

In Mabel's instance, even though she was a Level Eight Divine Master, the mana she possessed wasn't particularly strong. That was the reason for her limited attacking ability.

As Jonathan's eyes began to twitch, he could feel the effects of the powerful bloodline in his body, where his bones and muscles were fortified under its nourishment.

In fact, it seemed as if his body was developing in a way similar to Wretched's.

Although it still paled in comparison to Wretched's body, it was undeniable that it was now dramatically more robust.

When Jonathan finally lay down at eight in the morning, Elijah barged through his room door and exclaimed, “Lesley is gone!”

Jonathan sat up as an icy glint flashed across his eyes. Lesley didn't return, just as he expected.

“When he mentioned that he wanted to go out alone yesterday, I figured that he was leaving for good,” Jonathan explained.

Elijah remarked frantically, “Lesley is the most principled among us all. If he has decided to leave alone, I'm afraid he has chosen to die than suck someone's blood.”

Cognizant of the fact, Jonathan added, “That's due to his unwillingness to harm anyone else. He knows that, as long as he stays, Simon would continue bringing girls for him to feed upon.”

“But he'll lose his life without them.”

The consequence wasn't lost upon Jonathan, who replied in a deep voice, “Elijah, I have thought through everything you said, but Lesley is one of the Chosen Ones too. He probably won't die that

easily. Perhaps something unexpected might change his fate, or... Whatever it is, he's a grown man, and we should respect his decision.”

However, Elijah gave Jonathan a curious look and retorted in exasperation, “How can you still be so nonchalant when Lesley is going to die?”

Jonathan's eyes brimmed with exhaustion. Although he was aware that Lesley might die, he no longer felt the urge to look for the latter. With that thought in mind, he threw Elijah a glance and replied, “You're free to think that I'm cold and heartless, but one thing is for sure. Lesley's departure is his way of finding redemption. Forcing him to return will only intensify his suffering.”

Rendered speechless, Elijah turned and left.

When Mabel and Beatrix learned of Lesley's departure during breakfast, both of them had stunned looks in their eyes. They never realized that Lesley was so steadfast in his character.

Even though they were saddened by the news, Mabel's main concern was still Jonathan, for she was worried that he would do something impulsive. Nevertheless, after observing Jonathan a little longer, she felt her concerns eased by the composure he displayed. “How's your body feeling?” Mabel asked attentively.

“It has never been better,” Jonathan replied before pausing briefly. “I just don't know when the next flare up will be.”

Behind his words was a sense of pain, driven by his knowledge that he had to steel his heart and be ruthless in his decisions.

Yet he was unable to bring himself to capture a girl and suck her blood. All he could do now was cowardly wait for Simon to bring the girls home and for the latter to bear the guilt alone.

Jonathan's cowardice was the main reason for his sorrow.

To him, Simon was the bravest of them all. Lesley, too, was brave enough to choose his own path, even if it meant death.

As for him, all he could do was stay idle and wait for food.

Subsequently, the day passed uneventfully.

At eight in the evening, Jonathan experienced another flare-up.

However, Elijah and Mabel didn't look for blood for him, for they knew that a live human's blood was needed. Moreover, only by sucking all the blood in a girl's body could Jonathan alleviate his pain. As a result, there was little they could do to help him.

On top of that, they knew that Simon would definitely send someone over.

Just as expected, at the peak of Jonathan's pain, Simon returned with a girl in hand. After throwing her to the ground, he turned around and left.

The girl's arteries had been severed, and it was clear that she was not going to survive.

Overwhelmed by excruciating pain, Jonathan was like a drug addict whose sight was greeted by drugs

the moment he saw her. After pouncing on her like a ravaging beast, he bit into the girl's artery and began sucking her blood greedily.

The scene before them brought Mabel, Elijah, and Beatrix a sense of sympathy.

Behind every success was an untold story of torment and anguish.

Even someone as principled as Jonathan was forced to take despicable actions in order to survive.

That aside, the fact that Simon had brought a girl over indicated that he kept a close eye on the affairs at Protector Condominium. Lesley's departure was also known to him.

Yet he didn't make any effort to look for the former, for he, too, shared Jonathan's view—it was a choice Lesley had made.

As best friends, the least they could do was respect each other's choices, as forcing him to live on by consuming blood would only make his suffering worse.

Nonetheless, it didn't change the fact that it was time for Lesley to experience a flare-up. Unfortunately, no one knew where he was.

The sky was clear that night, allowing the moonlight and darkness to intertwine together.

Lesley was at Alberbridge Range, dressed in a leather jacket and a pair of jeans. He looked like a mountain-climbing youth and a lone traveler at the same time. Just like that, he trudged ahead alone, seemingly heading toward oblivion.

The mountains of Alberbridge Range covered an expanse as far as the eyes could see.

In spite of that, there was not a soul to be found, the very reason Lesley chose to go there. He was worried that he couldn't control himself when his body acted up. He knew better than anyone else how strong the lust for blood was. It was an overwhelming urge that no one was capable of suppressing. Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

As of then, Lesley had walked the entire day and covered more than two hundred kilometers.

The burning sensation within him had begun to build.

Soon, excruciating pain swept through his body as if he was being pounced on by a ferocious beast. The pain was so great that he knocked himself against the wall, hoping to achieve relief through death.

Thereafter, he dropped to his knees and howled in pain.

His body seemed to be engulfed in flames as lava-like cracks appeared all over it, putting him at risk of dying from combustion at any moment.

“Hahaha...” Lesley abruptly burst out in hearty laughter. “Let me die here, burnt to nothing but a crisp. From this day onward, I will cease to exist in this world, and my body will be lost to history. A man should never shy away from a noble death!”

Just as he was brimming with pride, he groaned in pain before collapsing onto the ground.

His craving for blood took over his senses, while a blur was all that was left of his consciousness.

In the midst of his grogginess, Lesley was jolted by the scent of blood.

Opening his eyes abruptly, he was greeted by the sight of a black scorpion.

This scorpion looks really strange!

It had a ridiculously big head, the size of an adult rabbit, while its two claws seemed to emit a terrifying blue glow.

With its claws raised, it swiftly bore down upon Lesley.

At the same time, Lesley lunged at it as if he could sense the delicious blood within its body.

Crack!

However, the scorpion struck first by biting Lesley on his arm.

Unfazed by the attack, Lesley bit down on the scorpion's artery at once.

As fear flashed across the scorpion's eyes, it desperately tried to struggle free but to no avail. At the same time, it could feel its blood being rapidly drained from its body.

In that very instant, the black scorpion probably knew it was done for.

All it could do was await death with a sense of indignance.

Soon, all that was left of it was a shriveled carcass.

Feeling satisfied, Lesley turned to his side before losing consciousness entirely.

At the same time, the lava-like cracks on his body gradually dissipated alongside the flame-colored hue of his skin.

He had miraculously survived certain death.

Meanwhile, after Jonathan had finished feeding on the girl's blood, Mabel suggested, “You should get some rest. I'll take care of this.” With that, she quickly left together with the girl's corpse.

Jonathan subsequently returned to his room, for he needed to digest the nutrition he had just consumed.

Within a short while, he could feel the nourishment surging into his brain, sending his brain cells into a hive of activity.

Jonathan was well aware that he couldn't allow all the brain cells to be nourished at once, and he had to go through the process in a compartmentalized manner.

It was, after all, something that was self-explanatory.

The cells contained in the brain significantly outnumber those in the body. It also contained the countless cells belonging to the nervous system.

That was the reason why the human brain possessed unlimited potential.
