I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 265

Chapter 265

“Which department are you from?” Mabel asked sternly.

When the police heard how serious she was, he had a bad feeling.

Meanwhile, Jonathan gloated at him. “Way to go, haha! You just offended the chief of the sixth division of the Department of National Security! Even Willowbank's mayor has to bow to her. Do you have any idea how powerful a chief from the Department of National Security is? She's a provincial-level official, young man!”

The police's face fell. As if electrocuted by the phone, he quickly returned it to Jonathan and pleaded, “Sir, please don't take this to heart.”

Jonathan ignored him and took the phone.

“Mabel.”

Hearing Jonathan's voice, Mabel inquired, “What's going on?”

“Nothing much. I was caught by the police in Willowbank.” After saying that, Jonathan turned to the police beside him and asked, “Which district and police station are you from?”

The two policemen's faces turned pale. Even the policeman who was driving started to feel nervous.

Why does he sound so confident? Could he really be a big shot?

“We're from the police station in Salburn East District,” one of them answered.

“Who's your chief officer?” Jonathan asked again.

“Harry Zeller.”

Jonathan then spoke into the phone. “The young men I hit today seem to have some connections, so they're getting back at me now. The policemen who arrested me are from Salburn East District police station, and their chief officer is Harry Zeller.”

“Okay. Hold on for a while,” Mabel replied.

“I have some personal matters to attend to. Make their chief officer call me, and I'll handle it,” Jonathan stated.

“Okay, no problem.”

With that, they hung up.

With an ashen face, the police who quipped about being the chief of the Department of National Security piped up, “Hey, you're not joking, are you?”

“You'll find out soon.” Jonathan flashed him a smile. Following a short pause, he added, “You're impressive, young man. You even dared to scold the sixth division chief. You're living your life to the fullest, huh?”

“Hey, this is all a misunderstanding!” the police cried out in exasperation.

Chuckling, Jonathan said, “That's enough. I'm just kidding. Do you think the sixth division chief has the time to mess with a mere policeman like you?”

The young man broke into a grin at his words. “You're right.”

At that moment, the driver's phone rang.

It was a call from their chief officer, Harry Zeller.

The policeman who was driving immediately handed the phone to Jonathan, who took the call and turned on the loudspeaker.

He wasn't trying to be pretentious; he just wanted the policemen to hear the conversation.

“Hello, is this Mr. Lawson?” Harry's voice came from the other end of the line.

Jonathan smiled and responded, “Sir, just call me Jonathan.”

“Mr. Lawson, please don't make a joke like that.” There was a hint of awkwardness and cautiousness in Harry's voice.

He went on, “Mr. Lawson, we didn't know our place and ended up offending you. Please forgive us.”

The policemen in the car gasped in shock when they heard their almighty chief officer being so humble.

At that point in time, the police who mocked Mabel earlier felt his mind go blank. He was now certain

that the woman he spoke to was indeed the chief of the sixth division of the Department of National Security.

“Mr. Zeller, you're being too polite. Well, can I go now?”

“Of course,” Harry answered right away.

“I'm going to leave discreetly since this matter involves a major case. I hope you can keep this a secret from the people who gave you the orders. Don't let them know that I've left. Can you do that?”

“No problem.”

“I'll leave this matter to you then. If you handle it well, I promise your record will be spotless.”

Heaving a big sigh of relief, Harry reassured, “Don't worry about this, Mr. Lawson.”

With that, Jonathan got out of the police car successfully.

It was already three in the afternoon, and the sunlight was somehow hazy.

Though the wind was bone-chilling, the clouds in the sky were clear.

After getting out of the car quietly, Jonathan looked around warily before dashing toward Victory Enterprise nimbly.

In no time, he arrived at the building, which looked just the same as before.

As Jonathan strode into the lobby, he made a shushing gesture to the two security guards. Knowing that Jonathan was close to their chairman, the duo played along and pretended not to see him.

Jonathan headed straight for the staircase and climbed to the top floor.

It took only two minutes for him to get to the twenty-eighth floor.

Despite that, his breathing and heart rate remained normal. He did not even break a sweat.

He hid in a corner like a skilled hunter, waiting for his prey to appear so he could launch the fatal blow.

Next, he turned off his phone and began practicing fetal breathing.

The next second, he could sense the entire world in his mind.

Everything was peaceful as things took their course.

All of a sudden, Jonathan sensed Victor's and Briana's breathing.

He could hear Briana complaining to Victor, whining, “Dad, it's been an hour. Sean won't come here. He's not that kind of person!”

Her words startled Jonathan. This stupid girl! She's really hopeless. Does she not know that Sean is a strong cultivator? If he happens to come here and hear her, the plan will be ruined!

“That's enough,” Victor interjected and stopped Briana.

As he sat in his office and glanced at his daughter, he suddenly felt pained. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

I accomplished so much, but how come my daughter is like this? Can I really hand this huge empire of mine to her? I might be harming her instead by doing that. Jonathan is right. A person's treasures can indeed arouse the envy of others.

Overwhelmed with sadness, Victor looked at Briana again. He had a lot of things to tell her, but in the end, he chose to keep quiet.

Now was not the right time to talk.

It was at that point in time that Jonathan heard the footsteps of Sean and Kairo.

Nevertheless, he kept calm. If there were any changes to his emotions, he would be bringing attention to himself.

The pair walked toward Victor's office.

No one could stop them as they practically barged their way through the floor.

Soon, they came to the door.

Without further ado, Kairo kicked it open.

Subsequently, he and Sean entered the room with frosty expressions.

“Sean, you're here!” Briana was pleasantly surprised to see Sean. Just as she was about to rush toward him, Victor slapped her in frustration.

“I can't believe how foolish you are. Can't you see they came with ill intentions?” he roared.

While Kairo shut the door behind him, Victor stared at Sean icily and demanded, “What are you up to?”

Sean sneered, “Don't you already guess it?”

“Sean?” Briana called out in tears while clutching her cheek. “Tell my dad that you're not here to take us.”

However, there was only disdain in Sean's eyes as he looked at her. He turned to Victor and said, “Victor, I'm really curious about something. How come a clever man like you has such a stupid daughter?” Looking at Briana again, he voiced, “Brianna, I didn't want to turn against you so soon. Unfortunately, your phone call earlier provoked me. Do you really think I'd like you? You should take a look at yourself in the mirror first!”

Briana's face turned as white as a sheet as she stared at Sean in disbelief. Then, she burst into tears.

“Victor, I wasn't planning to come at you so soon, but you brought it upon yourself by inviting someone like Jonathan. Well, I don't think it's possible for me to take Victory Enterprise away from you peacefully. Remember, you're the one who forced me to do this,” Sean told Victor.

The latter chuckled coldly. “Sean, I know you're smart and self-conceited, but that doesn't mean other people are idiots. If I don't do anything today, not only will you mess with my daughter, but you will also take away my empire. You're so cruel.”

“The winner takes it all.” Sean paused before continuing, “Victor, since you're a clever man, let us solve this problem like how intelligent people would solve it. Jonathan has been arrested by the police. It will take at least two hours for him to return. I only have that much time, and I won't force you. Give me five billion in Anglandurn currency. Just treat it as the price to keep yourself and your daughter alive.”

“Do you think I'd have that much cash on hand?” Victor retorted.

Sean's face darkened at that, and he threatened, “Then I guess I'll have to take you and your daughter away. If that happens, I won't be able to guarantee your safety and hers even if you decide to pay me afterward.”

“Among all the companies in the whole world, there are less than thirty companies with five billion of cash on hand. I'm just a man from Willowbank. You're making things difficult for me by demanding that much money from me,” Victor uttered in a low voice.

Sean was actually well aware of that, but he had to make a risky move as he was now at a disadvantage because of Jonathan.

“How much funds can you gather in an hour? If it's lower than one billion in Anglandurn currency, you and your daughter will die here today,” he snarled impatiently.

Right at that moment, the door was pushed open.

Jonathan showed up with a devilish smirk as he mocked, “Oh, Sean. You should be ashamed! How could you do something so shameless just for one billion?”

The color drained from Sean's and Kairo's faces.

Despite their nervousness, Kairo soon got back to his senses and made a move, though his target was not Jonathan. He swiftly moved behind Victor and Briana and clutched their necks, making them gasp for air.

“Why are you f*cking everywhere?” Sean snapped at Jonathan.
