I Am Unstoppable

Chapter 242

Chapter 242

Richard hurriedly replied, “And that will be my pleasure. However, we'd need Gideon's consent.”

“Any objection?” Lance turned to Gideon and asked.

Gideon, who had lost his courage, dared not voice any objections and gave in quickly. “Your wish is my command!”

“Problem solved!” Lance turned toward Richard and smiled.

“Understood!”

“Mr. Cadman!” Jonathan chimed in.

Lance smiled faintly. “I suppose I made it in time.”

“Thank you for rescuing me, Mr. Carman.”

“Don't mention it,” Lance replied with a smile.

At that moment, Gabriel was, perhaps, the one with the most complicated feelings.

Depressed and discouraged, Gabriel cursed inwardly at Jonathan's absurd good luck.

He never thought Jonathan could walk away unscathed from such a dire situation, let alone be on good terms with someone like Emperor of Chanaea.

All my attempts to kill Jonathan had failed badly. I should stop plotting against him now, or I might get myself killed sooner or later. Gabriel came to a realization that he had to stop.

It was the same for Jeremy. He was so stunned that he dared not bear any ill intentions toward Jonathan anymore.

On the other hand, Jonathan, of course, had no idea about what they were brewing in their mind. He said, “Mr. Cadman, I have a request.”

“What is it?” Lance was gentle and calm.

Jonathan said, “I'm afraid that the petty Gideon will be giving Lailah and Yuna a hard time in the future for standing up for me. Could you please have Master Richard take them in too?”

“Hmmm. You're right. There's also your wife and your fellow brothers. Let's have all of them placed under Richard's guidance too.”

On the other hand, Richard was over the moon to be able to recruit more capable subordinates. However, given that it was inappropriate to express his joy openly, he put up an act and said, “Lance, this is...”

“Is that okay?” Lance turned toward Gideon again.

Anger flashed across Gideon's eyes, but he suppressed it forcefully in the end.

After all, there was nothing he could do when powerful ones like Oswald and the elders kept mum.

“Fine!” Gideon gritted his teeth.

“Good. Then, it's all set! Now, open your mouth, Jon,” Lance said

Jonathan immediately did as he said.

With a flick, Lance shot a pill into Jonathan's mouth.

With the pill in his mouth, Jonathan quickly swallowed it, and the next thing he felt was a burning sensation spreading all over his body.

At the same time, his vitality came to a boiling point, replenishing all of his strength in a blink of an eye.

Jonathan's eyes lit up brightly, and he felt much better at that.

Meanwhile, Lailah and Yuna experienced a wave of complicated feelings, but they held no second opinion on joining Richard's faction.

Compared to Lailah, Yuna had always held Gideon in high regard and respected him greatly.

Yet, whatever happened recently had traumatized her. After seeing the true colors of Gideon and Frost, the disappointed Yuna wanted to leave Gideon's faction.

“Please return my Ninth Immortality Pills,” Jonathan said to Oswald after getting down from the platform.

At that, Oswald's heart was broken, for they agreed that the Ninth Immortality Pills would be his when he struck a deal with Gideon.

Yet, he had no choice but to surrender the pills.

While cursing at Gideon inwardly, Oswald kept a calm expression and said, “Enforcers!”

The law enforcers immediately got out.

“Return the Ninth Immortality Pills to him,” Oswald ordered.

“Yes, Master.”

Soon, the Ninth Immortality Pills were given back to Jonathan, to which he heaved a sigh of relief.

After that, Lance said, “Let's go.”

As he walked out, Jonathan, Lailah, Yuna, and Richard followed behind him.

The disciples of Richard's faction too followed suit, and they quickly got out of The Inquisition.

It was already one o'clock in the afternoon by then.

The sunlight was supposedly blinding bright, but at that moment, the sunlight was warm and gentle. It was the best time to sunbathe.

Jonathan showered himself in the sunlight. The haunting experience throughout that period was definitely unforgettable. He had had enough of the despair and hopelessness.

He swore that he would never place himself in such a situation anymore.

At that time, Richard politely said, “Lance, let's have some tea at the Chard Hall.”

“Thanks, but no thanks. It is time for me to leave,” Lance replied, waving a dismissive hand.

“So quick?”

“It can't be helped. There's something that I have to attend to. I would have been long gone if it weren't for Jon. My origin body's primordial spirit ran into some troubles in The Void, so my presence is needed.”

“Understood. I'll see you out,” Richard replied.

“It's fine. I'll be gone after telling Jonathan something,” Lance said with a smile.

“Okay.”

At that, Lance turned to Jonathan and said, “Jon, walk with me for a moment.”

“My pleasure, Mr. Cadman,” Jonathan replied. He was so grateful for all Lance had done for him. Before he left, he bowed at Richard and said, “Master Richard, I'll be back shortly to pay my respect.”

Richard returned him with a smile and said, “It's fine. I'm not Gideon, so you don't have to be so

cautious.”

Hearing that, Jonathan felt a little relieved.

He then left with Lance.

Upon exiting Divine Realm, both of them headed toward Mount Frallein.

The path to Mount Frallein was decorated beautifully with fallen leaves. The sweet smell of parasol trees filled the air as the sunray shined brightly on the track.

The scenery was breathtaking. It was an indescribably beautiful sight.

“Mr. Cadman, you're still here because you've anticipated this?” Jonathan asked.

“I deduced that you'll be in grave danger when I observed there was a dark patch in between your eyebrows and how you were haunted by a black murderous aura back then. However, I also noticed a glint of purple glow in the murderous aura, and purple represents good luck in the legends. It signifies that you'll turn the danger into good luck.”

“Well, I'm lucky because you came to my help, Mr. Cadman.”

“That's right. However, I find it difficult to leave just like that just because I know you'll escape the danger unscathed. The cycle of fate is indeed miraculous.” Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

“Anyway, I'm still in your debt, Mr. Cadman. Thank you.”

“Let's skip these unnecessary courtesies. I wouldn't have helped you if all I wanted from you was your gratitude.”

“Mr. Cadman, I'll do my best to repay you.”

“You're a talented young man, and this is why I decided to invest in you. One day, perhaps, you will become a prominent figure capable of many things. Now, this is what I call interesting.” Lance paused for a moment. “Also, Jon, I'll be leaving. I need to return to my original body's primordial spirit as it is now caught in a wave of meteors, unable to unshackle itself. When I return, I might return only after centuries or even millenniums later, for the way time works in The Void is entirely different. An hour in The Void is equivalent to seven years in this world. It's all about the theory of relativity. However, Chanaea is where I was birthed and raised. For this reason, Chanaea and even Earth weighed heavily in my heart. Jon, the Great Tribulation is bound to happen. Desolation and massacre would descend, paving the way to chaos. When that happens, the foreigners will definitely pounce at Chanaea greedily. I need you to stand up and shoulder the responsibility of protecting our land in the future.”

“Mr. Cadman, as long as I'm alive, I will ensure Chanaea is safe from harm. I will strike every invader down! I'll do what you've been doing!”

“Good. You may not be the most brilliant among the Chosen Ones, but you're the most virtuous one from my point of view. I also hold you in high regard. If a person is talented but lacks discipline and manners, he would be the next Tristan Cadman. The stronger he gets, the greater the threat he poses. The likes of Gideon and Oswald may be crooked, but they are not particularly powerful, rendering them unable to cause much of a problem. Remember, being virtuous with hardly any talent is all right. Being virtuous and talented is fantastic. Being talented yet wicked is terrible while being wicked and talentless is worthless.

Jonathan remembered Lance's words dearly. He also recalled the times when he narrowly escaped death throughout his journey. Though he was lucky in a way, his luck was tightly tied to his ethics and morals.

If he did not take pity on Alicia, he wouldn't have gotten his hands on Lunar Pendant. If he didn't run into Lance and attracted Lance's attention with his ethics, he wouldn't have survived.

Be righteous, and you'll never be alone. Be wicked, and you'll be left alone. Justice never dies, and it shall prevail!

In that instant, Jonathan came to a realization.

At that moment, Lance retrieved the raw stone and delivered it to Jonathan. “Here, this is for you.”

That stunned Jonathan slightly before he replied, “No, Mr. Cadman. With my strength right now, I'm not worthy enough for the raw stone. Could you please keep it safe for me?”

Surprised by his answer, Lance said, “You want me to keep it safe for you? But I have no idea when I will come back. Maybe you're not even alive anymore by then.”

“That's completely all right. However, knowing that your trip will be dangerous, I hope this raw stone will come in handy should you need it, Mr. Cadman.”

“Interesting. Gideon wanted this so desperately, and you gave it to me without hesitation.” Lance smiled.

“Maybe this is what you call virtue. I believe in you, Mr. Cadman, so I'll gladly oblige even if you send

me to my demise! I will not let you down!”

Touched, Lance said, “Virtue is a man's most priceless treasure, yet most will give it up for their benefit. Little did they know that they were giving up something precious by doing so.” Lanced paused for a brief moment and continued, “Hmmm. I can't be taking advantage of you, either way. I'll give you something in return.”

That said, he retrieved something from his sleeves and delivered it to Jonathan.
