After the busy day, I can finally relax!

From hiring a new secretary to rescuing Andrea from those crocodiles plus managing the upcoming fashion show in New York.

What a hectic schedule!

There are some other small events that my new secretary handled.

Andrea decided to go home to her province because of trauma from the crocodiles.

I didn’t see Evette again. Just hoping for the three to settle the feud between them. Anyway, that’s their problem.

I want to go home early and relax for half a day doing nothing but sleeping!

Aaron is so busy with his businesses too. And I miss him already!

I was going to get my key when I saw the gate is open!

Who could it be?

I slowly went in and there was nothing wrong inside.

Maybe Aaron forget to lock it?

But it’s impossible!

We will never forget to lock our gate. And the maids too. But where are they?

It’s their day off today?

Oh, I forget because I’m so busy.

I was going to go up to our room when I heard a voice asking me.

“Who are you?” I stop walking and slowly turn around.

I saw a woman in her 60’s. Looking straight at me with her lightning eyes.

Who is she?

She looks strict and sophisticated.

Richness is shouting about the way she dressed up like a model.

But I don’t know her!

“Excuse me, But I’m supposed to ask you that. Who are you?” I asked.

I went down the stairs to meet her. I’m not afraid!

She didn’t look like a poor thief. More look like a Queen!

She’s radiating power and strength.

But what am I thinking?

She looks at me from head to foot.

“You are asking what I already asked! Are you playing with me?” She asked angrily.

But I don’t care who she is! What is she doing here in our house?

“I’m not playing with you, Madam. This is my house!” I explained.

She looked at me again.

“Don’t tell me that you’re Aaron’s wife?” She asked having doubt.

Why doubt me? Am I not compatible with Aaron? Well, I’am!

I’m already his wife!

“Yes, I’am Nalzen Villarreal Montgomery.” I introduced myself but she didn’t mind at all!

There’s disdain in her while looking at me.

She still didn’t introduce herself.

“And who are you? If you’re lost, I can help you and bring you to the police station.

“What? You’re not just a plain face but also a little idiot! Don’t you know me?” She asked angrily.

How can I know her if she won’t tell me her name?!

I’m tired and want to relax!

What is he doing in here? Ruining my day.

“Excuse me, Madam, Do I suppose to know you? And you just barge in here without permission. I can sue you for that. But if you are lost because of dementia or something. I can help you.” I explained.

And hopefully this time she will understand.

“You are disrespectful and have no manners too! How come my son marry you? And you’re not even beautiful! I’m expecting a demure and sophisticated beautiful woman. But look at you!” She looks at me again from head to foot.

There’s nothing wrong with me. My outfit is carefully chosen and I designed them meticulously.

I’m a fashion designer. So, I just need to look elegant and proper.

But she looks down at me like I’am just a woman from the street that Aaron picked!

But wait-

She’s saying that she’s Aaron’s Mother?!

How come I didn’t know her?

Because Aaron didn’t tell me! That’s the saddest part.

I didn’t even know my husband’s family!

How can I face this perfectionist mother of his?

“Oh, I’m sorry Mommy. I didn’t know that you’re Aaron’s Mother. Nice to meet you.” I said.

“Mommy? Don’t call me that! I’am Madam Margarett Montgomery. You can call me Madam but I still can’t accept you as my daughter-in-law. You need to prove it!” She said with a powerful aura and sits down like a queen.

Where’s Aaron?

Does he know that his mother is coming?

Why he didn’t tell me that his mother is a terror?

I dialed my phone but it keeps on ringing.

Aaron is busy!

“You are calling my son? He’s busy with the merger of our company. We will build a new branch in here.” She said.

“Okay, Madam. What can I do for you? Do you want food or drinks?” I asked politely.

“I don’t want anything that comes from you. I’m not done yet checking this mansion!” She answered and leave me.

She went to the kitchen checking every corner.

I want to relax and leave her. I went upstairs to our room and finally, I can sleep!

I changed my clothes into a comfy ones and sleep in our soft bed.

But moments later, I heard a loud knock on my door!

I sleepily opened it and was greeted by my angry bird mother-in-law!

“What are you doing?” She asked coldly.

“I’m sleeping, Madam,” I answered.

“You are sleeping while your guests are still awake? How improper! I’m hungry, cook something for me and I want steak medium cook!” She demanded.

And I’m not sleepy anymore!

I don’t know how to cook and she demanded I cook a steak for her. How grandeur. We can order at the restaurant!

“We can order from one of the famous restaurants here. They have lots of delicious food like steak.” I suggested.

She rolled her eyes. They said that the hardest to deal with in your married life is the mother-in-law! And I agree with this saying!

“Order outside? I saw in the fridge that there were a lot of steaks to cook. I don’t want to eat outside. I want my food with no preservatives! You better go down now and cook before I get hungry!” She shouted and I stormed outside quickly down to the kitchen.

I’m looking at the frozen steaks. How can I cook them?

Where are you, Aaron?

Your mother is causing trouble in my peaceful life!

I dialed his number again and at last, he answered.

“Yes, wifey? Sorry for not answering your call. I’m very busy with the merger.” He explained.

“I know but why you didn’t tell me that your mother is going to visit us?” I asked.

“What?! Are you serious wifey? Is that my mother?” Aaron didn’t know!

He’s surprised that his mother is here! At least he doesn’t know and is telling the truth.

I felt relief.

“Yes, she is your mother and she is giving me a hard time. She wants me to cook steak for her. You know that I don’t know how to cook! Please save me, hubby!” I said.

And I’m not feeling well lately maybe it’s because of fatigue that I always work overtime.

And now, his mother is giving me stress!

“How come? My Mom is kind. She won’t bother you like that!” Aaron answered in disbelief.

And I don’t want to argue! I’m tired, if he will not believe me, then don’t.

But I want him to witness with his own eyes.

“Just hurry and save me, hubby. And see for yourself.” I said.

“Okay, just wait for me and don’t do anything.” He instructed.

I answered yes and ended the call.

“What are you doing? The steak won’t be cooked if you are only staring at them. Faster!” She shouted.

But I don’t know how to cook!

I just clean the steak and put some spices on it. I will wait for Aaron.

My mother-in-law is back again!

I’m having a headache. I want to sleep!

“Are you playing with me? When will you cook that steak? I’m so hungry!”She shouted at me again.

Patience Nalzen. She’s Aaron’s Mother!

I take a deep breath and smile at her.

“Aaron is coming Mommy. Could you please wait a little while?” I asked.

Her eyes turn round. As big as the full moon.

“What are you saying? Don’t tell me that you don’t know how to cook?” She asked.

“I’m sorry Mommy, I don’t know how to cook but don’t worry. Arron is on the way.” I answered.

“Don’t call me Mommy! You don’t even know how to cook! How did Aaron endure with this useless wife!” She said and it hit me real hard!

I’am useless?

It’s okay that she will look down on me but calling me useless is below the belt!

How could she?

“Okay, Madam and please don’t call me useless! You can call me anything you want but I’am not useless.” I answered coldly.

“Now you’re showing your real attitude! What a shame!” She answered.

“If you’re that hungry I will order your food right away through express delivery. Or you can wait for Aaron to arrive.” I said.

I felt down and emotional!

I don’t know why.

Plus my head is aching. I don’t want to argue with her.

“I already told you that I don’t want food from the outside. You didn’t even listen!” She answered and didn’t look at me.

“Then we will wait for Aaron to arrive. You can have some bread and jam if you want.” I offered.

“No thanks!” She answered.

And speaking of Aaron. He finally arrive!

“Mom? Is that you?” He asked in disbelief.

“Yes, who else.” Her mom answered happily.

She’s smiling looking at his son. But she’s so cold towards me.

If she doesn’t like me then don’t. I have so much work to do and I want to rest!

“Excuse me. The steak is ready Aaron. You just have to cook them. I already put some spices. I’m going, I want to rest and sleep.” I said then walked away.

“Look at that attitude! Is that your wife? Find another one!” Her mother said but I don’t care.

I continue to walk away.

“Wait for me in there Wifey! Mom, Nalzen is my wife and I don’t want to find another one! What is happening to you?” Aaron asked surprised.

I don’t want to listen to their conversation anymore!

I run quickly to reach upstairs.

Aaron loves me and he will never replace me!
